1) Take a look "2012-11-28 15:24:38 UTC" - was first halving 50 -> 25
it was block #210,000 http://blockexplorer.com/block/000000000000048b95347e83192f69cf0366076336c639f9b7228e9ba171342e
210,000 * 50 = 10,500,000 BTC was minted at this time. ( Half )
2) Next one will playing with quarter. Similarly.
* 25 -> 12.5
* There will be minted three quarters (3/4) of all possible BTC.
Things certainly grew rapidly in that time period. However there were a lot of factors other than the halving.
1. Bitcoin emerged in to the general public consciousness to a much greater degree.
2. China markets sprouted up and much speculation followed.
3. WillyBot.
The halving was likely a factor but I would say these factors were more of a driver.
The next halving will not give us 10,000$ alone but half less bitcoins mined everyday will be very bullish for the price. I think the adoption of Bitcoin by more people is the key to have a global success.
But most of the mining operations may be in net loss in 10 minutes.

Not too difficult for me when the Dollar will lose value and 10,000$/coin "only" means 210 Billions for 21 millions coins.

Same as in 2012, most people said it was the Cyprus event, but it was ASICs and first block reward halve IMO.

This will never happen. 45 pages of useless arguing. The question should not be when, but if, and at this point it looks like no, it will never happen
