(It is also mentioned there that RPi has a 49-device limit).
That works out perfect for me since I plan on 32 usin two 20 port hubs with 4 fans each. I would try a 49 port hub bu no easy way to wall mount where as the 20 port hubs I got my eye on are easily mounted.

I finally setup 3x 49 port hubs each one has about 40 -42 sticks

Why are you shitting up the BitMinter pool thread with this off-topic bullshit?

FFS!  This is not the place for it, you attention-starved dimwit!!  Keep your huge fucking pictures in the "Pictures of your Rig" thread, idiot.

While I agree that that post was somewhat off-topic, your language and stance, Henchman24, is not socially acceptable. Please be so kind as to use a more moderated form of language in your future posts. In general, be friendlier.  Wink

philipma1957, you are welcome to move your post to my topic discussing all the hub/USB related stuff: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/which-usb-hub-to-use-with-block-erupters-nanofury-nf1-bpmc-red-fury-ant-u1-253749 (It is also mentioned there that RPi has a 49-device limit).

Hodl!
I found out that when I exceeded 125 sticks cpu use went nuts and the 125th stick read endless errors.   not sure if the pc or bitminter software is the issue.  windows 7 has a 127  usb device  limit for 1 controller.  this pc has a 5 port pcie usb card with a second controller  so I should be able to go to 240 sticks or even 250.  So when I got past the 127 device limit the cpu went nuts and the last stick added com284 just read endless errors.  in the photo below it is at  6000 and change and counting up really fast

USB does use CPU interrupts though, it's not DMA, so possibility of too many devices doing something odd. I would however suspect that external bus speed is more to do with it than CPU ooomph in this day and age, so possibly that could be something to look at.

Speaking of your stick issue, I would be usin gan rPi, how many sticks do you think I could used on a model b 512mb rPi ?

I was thinking of 32, usin two of those 20 port hubs we talked about. Four ports on each hub would be used for fans in the 4 corners leaving 16 slots each hub for 32 in all and roughly 10.6Ghs until I saved the apital for bitfurys which would then put me at 70.Ghs assuming each bitfury runs at 2.2. Either way it'd be a lon damn while before I even got to that poin considering best case scenario they go or $100 a piece which would total 3.2g's for all of them lol.

Not sure but 32 sounds possible. as for the blue/red fury super sticks wait for them as of yesterday  lots of issues running them
I'd like to think 32 is possible with the rPi bein powered under it's own 1500ma wall outlet and then the upgraded bricks you mentioned for the hubs. As for the fury's, like I said, even if I got em now I would need $3,200 I don't have and that's assuming best case pricing of $100 each which is why I plan on sticking with the regular 333 asics for a while. Even if some would say it's pointless, who cares, with the setup in mind it would work for me given suspected power cpnsumption compared to those who run full hog on their computers which would run 3-4 times the power I would.

Very nice Phillip.  I almost wanted to buy the 1.75btc kit with the hub and 50 erupters for the fun of it but its sold out now.  The pics are great!

I finally setup 3x 49 port hubs each one has about 40 -42 sticks .

Edit  I setup the 3 rigs on one pc to make an effort to see the max sticks on a pc running bitminter

Doc H wanted to know if I had come across the problem of really high cpu use with a lot of sticks  I told him no but I had never run more then 113 sticks. I was not going to buy a third 49 port hub but I wanted to help doc h out. since he was concerned that he may have a program bug. so I spent 1.82btc to run a super test for doc h and bitminter since I choose to support the doc and his pool. so this was on topic with extra info (2 shots of the hubs not 1 and a shot of power used)

Note to Henchman24 I pulled 2 of the photos to accommodate your request for size reduction.  Please accept my apologies for going over the top on the photos.

I pulled the stick out and have been running the 3 hubs with 122 sticks at 40.6 gh dead stable for a day.

3 hubs 3 extra psu's
 shot of the 3 hubs

everything uses 483 watts

when you figure the value of the heat ( weather is cold in NJ, USA)  My net power  drops from .16 cents to .10 cents a k watt.

So today I sold a coin for 260 at coinbase.

So at 511 mill diff  for the next ten days  this will earn .4btc  worth 104 usd power used will be 11.57  net gain will be 92.34 usd.

if diff jumps to  664 mill  the setup would do  .33 btc worth 88 usd minus 11.57 power = 76.43 usd.

even at 2 bill it would earn money  about  1.50 usd a day

Thinking past luck influences future luck is called gambler's fallacy. It does not work.

Yes, just like believing luck influences mining earnings. Over a long enough time period it statistically evens out. Fees and reliability are what influences earnings and Bitminter a great pool for both. That's why I stay here through the occasional "bad" day. Actually the best advice is not to look at the blocks page, set an auto payout and forget about it.

Pool hopping seems to be mostly dead now. It was based on switching pool when you could tell in advance that payouts were going to be low in your current pool. It worked very well with pools using the proportional reward model, and somewhat less effectively with Slush's score based model. The point is that you can tell in advance with those reward models when low payouts are coming.

With PPLNS you can't tell in advance what future payouts will be. Trying to pool hop based on payouts from the past does not work. Thinking past luck influences future luck is called gambler's fallacy. It does not work.

From what I can tell, usin your model... the best way to increas payouts is to as Tim Allen says, get More Power !

What's with the string of bad luck the past few days? I'm starting to feel bad for not switching to another pool and instead staying for the Mint Race.

The thing about variance is that as soon as you do that Bitminter will go on a lucky streak and you'll miss it.

Quoted for truth.  I moved to BTCguild after a bad spell and watched the payouts dwindle....

Somebody just kicked us up over 250 TH/s.

It wasn't me, but I did just order more hashing power.

I have noticed that other pool sites have increased by 200+ GH/s in the last week. I sure hope you have invested in at least 1TH Wink

What's Bitminter's server time based on, which time clock?

It shows that it's the 6th already yet its still 10:00PM EST on the 5th of November.

I think most of the world runs on UTC.

The world doesn't run on UTC time, otherwise there wouldn't be need a for time zones. Tongue
