Maintenance for the mining server on saturday 13th between 03:00 and 09:00 UTC.

You may get disconnected during this time, but not for long.

Maintenance is being a little bumpier than expected.

For those who are unable to connect at this moment, apologies for the inconvenience, I'll get you back on the pool ASAP.

Use Stratum on port 3333 if at all possible. If mining with an old version of Bitminter client, use the new one.

Just tried what you suggested to no avail. The java console opens up but the client does not. Here is what I get on the console:

Resource https://bitminter.com/client/bitminter.jar has future expires: Thu Sep 11 15:28:05 CDT 2014 update check skipped.

Those messages are nothing to worry about. Something else is going wrong.

Did it work before, or has it never worked?

Did you change or install a firewall?

Did you update your graphics card drivers? AMD drivers are often broken and crash the instant you look at them.

Are you getting a hs_err_pid crash log on your desktop?

Got it to work Smiley Had to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for you responsiveness. Love BitMinter.

I'm getting an error today on my client, reads:

Resource https://bitminter.com/client/ etc has futures expires Wed Sept 10 etc.

Could anybody help?

Does the client still start, or is this preventing it from starting?

Could you try flushing the java cache? https://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml

In some other posts, some people tell that miners could be dangerous in closed rooms (because of VOC). Tell your son to ventilate his room  Smiley

VOC? whats voc?

ok, found it:

"The real issue are the chemicals released from the heated components - they give off toxic gases when heated - known as VOCs:

http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/eh/indoorair/voc/"

i have been in the same room and sleeping with miners on same room for 1 month or so omg... is that dangerous then?? Of course window was always opened and it was ventilated every day but... you scare me now xD

Don't have a heart attack.  I think there would be a lot out there on the subject if running a few machines put off any amount worth worrying about.  I've been looking around and I can't find much on the topic.

Thats another good reason to buy used!! Since most of the outgasing will have occurred with the previous owner.

There we go!!  We didn't know that BFL (and all the others including bitmain lately) was doing everyone a health service by pre-mining (testing) equipment before shipping to deplete all that
nasty VOC before it affected their customers  Grin

I'd be interested to read up on VOC concerns.  I haven't come across anything on these.  Can you post a link to one or a couple?

has anyone thought about making a cloud server here? i for one, do not have much available space for the hardware, but would like to increase hashing, would it be possible, or even thought of?

You can find lots of places where you can have you stuff hosted or you can buy hashing power from a cloud hashing outfit.

Here's a link to a place that hosts mining equipment.
http://bitcoinasichosting.com/

Here is a link about Cloud Hosting
http://www.coindesk.com/information/cloud-mining-bitcoin-guide/

I know of couple folks that get friends to host their equipment either at their homes or in their places of business as well.

I have 400GH running in my son's dorm room at college. He has recruited a friend to host another 400GH for me starting next week. I send him 30% of the BTC we earn each month to help pay his beer expense  Wink

Great use of my old S1's. I can even overclock them  Grin

EPIC !!!

Indeed!  This is spectacular!!!!!  Now I'm starting to think of who I know that is currently living on a campus.....

Jet again i thought: i am not making much money, to little bitcoins.
Let's go back after my last cash out and enjoy Slush pool ware it go's faster.
(oh boy..... Grin).

No block today and no block on 30 last month, on slush pool all days blocks.

Block where for my with my s1 that i can not overclock so it's 180gh/s about 0,00070000 on slush pool and 0,00452587 Here.

So if i were on both pools with 180gh/s,... well.. then i made on Bitminter 270(6 blocks) and on Slush's 210(30 blocks).

It may go slow, but earning more. Not counted the tiny by making nmc...

Don't know what other pools do/make, but i need to stay here.

Yup.  As people switch off their S1's many pools have shrunk a little.  And that will effect performance.

I just hope they broke even.  With BTC prices so low at present being a Miner is not easy.
