Once you join the dark side, you can't go back.  Cheesy

But yeah, Ztex is a good candidate, I think there are quite a few of those boards out there.

Also you should keep an eye out for Lancelot that is currently under development by ngzhang, I believe he's first, now discontinued board icarus still remains the best selling fgpa to date.

Ztex-boards seem to be building up at my neck of the woods (Finland), I for one havent bought any, the price seems too high to me. They also sell discounted boards to any open-source devs, incase you are interested in switching over to the "light side" Tongue

Any other FPGA products that I should add support for?

I have a question about Open ID.

Why are some against it? I'm trying to understand a little about the topic and cannot find
anything really wrong with the idea.

Since bitminter is one of the few bitcoin sites that use openId, I decided to post my question here.

Thanks

They don't understand it.  OpenID allows me to have strong 2 factor authentication on my mining account and Dr.H didn't need to do anything.

I always thought OpenID was a great concept. I have no idea why it is not more popular. Some developers are very surprised when I tell them Google supports OpenID. They see SAML as this great "enterprise" thing, and OpenID as something insignificant that "noone" uses. It's a bit old, but here's a blog post about Stack Overflow's experience with OpenID: http://blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/04/openid-one-year-later/

I just ordered some Crainsmore Quad XC6SLX150 Boards, this could be an opportunity for bitminer to snag some serious MHS should you be able to provide support in the bitminter-client. I'll be willing to run mine for testing ofc and Im fairly sure other ppl ordering these might stick with an easy to use miner available early on. I have no idea on what goes in to making a new fgpa work in your client, but once I have mine I'll help in any way I can, should the good doctor choose to take this opportunity up.

All the current info available on the boards (that I know of) is located at: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cairnsmore1-quad-xc6slx150-board-78239

I don't think they have any boards ready yet, but I'll contact them. I think it would be pretty easy to add support for more FPGA products in the BitMinter miner if they are controlled over a (virtual) serial port, like the BFL ones, and the one you mention.

Any other FPGA products that I should add support for?

hey guys, just joined this pool couple of days ago with my little hashpower. I like it.

What happened last night? According to the shift statistics, some 600GHash/s seems to have joined the pool for about 3 hours.

Fefox bought some shares at gpumax and pointed it to bitminter.

I just noticed that one of my rigs that is running cgminer keeps tossing about 20% of it's shares to a backup pool.
"Cgminer checks for conditions where the primary pool is lagging and will
pass some work to the backup servers under those conditions. The reason for
doing this is to try its absolute best to keep the GPUs working on something
useful and not risk idle periods. You can disable this behaviour with the
option --failover-only."

Pinging mint.bitminter.com gives me an average reply time of 53ms, this shouldnt affect things right ?

Im pretty sure there is no lag worth mentioning between me and mint.bitminter.com.
Could someone else running cgminer check to see if this is going on at their end too ?

[edit] looks like this is a bug in cgminer that can be "fixed" with running it with the "--failover-only" option

There is no list of payouts for the block 177274 (the one before the one marked as stale).
Does it mean that now the unconfirmed rewards won't be listed on the block details page unless we activate the new prepay perk?

This was caused by the bug mentioned above. Now fixed and everything is rolling again.

The bug was causing some operations to abort, for instance the pay splitting of block income, as you noticed. After I fixed the bug all those operations went through.

Sorry for the confusion and the delay in block payouts.

On the upside, nice to see some lucky blocks again. Smiley

The latest BTC block is not stale despite what the block list shows at the moment. There's a bug, I'm working on it.

Quick bugfix this morning. Account details was still showing unconfirmed amounts after they were already paid out with the prepay perk. Should now be correct.

Stats->blocks: "all" filter seems to only show BTC, otherwise looks good.

Oops! Thanks for letting me know. Fixed now. I guess sorting the blocks by height wasn't such a good idea - it put all the namecoin blocks at the end. Cheesy

Me and my 6 gpu farm are back, I lost faith with p2pools luck (12% missing since forever). Any big changes that could require my immediate attention in the last 2 months ?

Nice to see you back on the team. Smiley

Like P4man said the luck was not good. A lot of users left and we are only now back to the same number of active users. You can be glad you missed the block that took 11 million proofs of work. But we did have a block with only 282 proofs of work after that, which partly makes up for it.

New on the feature side is the donation and perk system. I have been working on other things too, but it's mostly behind-the-scenes stuff that you won't notice yet. There is more stuff on the way, though.

Excellent "pool hopping". You just missed a month that was a lot worse than p2pool, but our luck seems to have finally turned this week.
