Love my Zotact Amp Extreme. Stock already heavily OC. Running very cool even on my tropical climate.

totally agree Cheesy worth every penny i think.  i thought at first maybe it wasent but reading others doing 700 sol/s at 95% TDP and here i do 750 at 70% TDP at damn near stock clocks just smiling Cheesy

like +150/-400 i believe, tho i have it stock right now as i flashed clean drivers and it does so well i just left it ;p 700+ sol/s  +0/+0


700 sol/s is a good mark for stock clocks, last time I did constant  810 sol/s with my 1080Ti Aorus at 2.0GHz boost core clock / 12GHz memory oced, 85% tdp, temps at 50-60 Celsius, fans at 100%.

810 sols/s Huh that doesnt sound real.  What was your the add to you core clock?  Most cant go over 100 or 120 at 100% TDP.  Overclocking the RAM does nothing really for mining Zec.  If you set it to 0 instead of negatives it can sometimes boost it slightly.  Sounds like you are remembering incorrectly your values, as stock values will generally bring  the most sols on an Auros card as they don't have much room to overclock and memory doesn't really effect it that much.  I generally couldn't get over 740 on an auros regauardless of settings and I own 3 of them.

I will only be using server PSUs for all GPUs from now on. so much cleaner and easier

each 1200w PSU I have it  power 4 1080TIs or 6 1080s

I think have a 500w PSU powering the MB and risers

all 240v of course

Server PSUs are very nice as long as you don't have them in a living space (very loud under load). We are using them for most of our rigs on my wife's farm and if you use splitters you can run the GPu and risers all of the same PCI-E cables (use 14 or 16 AWG cables of course).  With the right custom cables and a Pico PSU for the motherboard you can even avoid an ATX PSU altogether, although we have not tried that setup it does look tempting.

ya man, if i could GET a few of those nice Finsky Jabberwoks for the ti builds i would be SO happy, i am thinking of moving more away from the ATX PSU build model as well, cant beat how CLEAN those server rigs look Cheesy

Go with the highest efficiency PSU you can find.

I have two rigs;
2*1080ti on a modern Corsair 80+ gold 850W PSU
1*1080ti and 1*1070 on a 10 Y.O. Generic 750W PSU

The corsair pulls +340W (above idle) when mining at 72% TDP
The generic pulls +376W (above idle) when mining at 72% TDP / 80% TDP (1070)

That was my benchmark to try and get a great deal at the time Smiley

 Interesting theory, but I NEVER saw them listed THAT low.

 Lowest 1070 on SALE they ever had was $359 or some such for the Zotac Mini, and I don't remember any 1080 under $459 even on sale.

You're missing the point dude, the point is if you imagine you're buying a 1080 or 1070 for prices above what was stated, you're cutting directly into your hedge. Gamers know what they're worth.

Obviously a single vendor is not what is in question here. Multiple had them, including frys. Why you think Newegg didn't IDK. Maybe you're right but just price matches alone you could have gotten it that low all over, best buy included.

I have the receipt for the 450 i paid...So you're wrong. IDK what you're debating about. I checked after we talked about it.

Max 350 used for a 1080, well under that for a 1070, only reason you could get more is because miners want it.

Are you using nicehash and not directly mining with a pool? If so, id really recommend switching away from nicehash. You could be earning more by directly pooling with nanopool for example.

How would I go about computing that? Value of directly mining a coin vs mining through nicehash and getting paid in bitcoin, correct?
Based on the prices of the past 1-2 weeks, how much more could I be earning specifically?

I'll soon have access to a dual 1080ti setup.

But that doesn't include projections on the value of the coins. Obviously getting paid in a coin that has a better risk/reward would be ideal if you're going to just hold what you mine and not exchange.

Today Hush is best by a wide margin on my 5 Tis and 1 1080. Some days nicehash is very competitive and you can hop on spikes so it's an easy choice if you like BTC best. But other days the gaps can be substantive over 10% projected

Didn't realize that EVGA was so popular.  I've been around IT for a long time and I guess they're a new favorite, but I remember when I first started seeing them that they seemed to be an "off" brand.  But apparently people think they're the best (or they're paid shills).  Corsair looks good, but I've seen some criticism on some reviews that concern me. 

4) Enough of the right connectors?

Standard connectors: 24 pin ATX mobo, CPU power for mobo, SATA for SSD.
Video connectors:
 - each card has a 6 pin and 8 pin power connector on top, so I'd need (4) 6 pin and (4) 8 pin connectors
 - I've got plenty of new riser boards, version 7.  Qty 6 risers with PCIe 6 pin connectors and Qty 6 with Molex connectors, so I could mix and match or use all of one type.


 1) Seasonic X-1250 or EVGA G2 1300 should handle your rig without issues as long as you don't push TDP way up.

 3) EVGA, like *most* companies that sell power supplies, outsource the actual manufacturer.
     Their G2 line is Superflower Leadex platform, which is quite good, at least one of their other lines is Seasonic built (GQ series I think?) and are good, don't have enough data on their other stuff to be sure.
     Seasonic, on the other hand, is one of the perhaps dozen actual manufacturers of ATX-type power supplies in the world.

 4) It depends - if you go with 1080 ti models that use 1 x 8-pin and 1 x 6-pin, pretty much any 1200+ watt unit should have enough connectors - the X-1250 and G2 1300 are definitely good for that.
     *HOWEVER* if your risers are PCI-E neither PS will have enough spare connections for 4 of those on top of the cards themselves - but they have plenty of Molex connectors.

     If you go with all 1080 ti that have 2 x 8 pin connectors (Gigabyte Aorus for example), then it gets to be an issue and you might want to consider the dual 750 PS option or a slightly higher capacity single supply that DOES have enough connections - and you might want the extra headroom anyway as 2 x 8 PCI-E cards will likely have a higher TDP than 250 watts (though my Aorus doesn't despite the dual 8-pin connectors).

This is a calculator and the profit at the current difficulty. It's real. There still are  coins that can give you more than $10 per card per day.


My miner does 15.5 MHASH  on the 1080ti. A 480x does 3MHASH with the opensource miner.

Just Sp trying to make some beer money.  It will be down to nothing in a day or two.

I'd anticipate to see a steady rise in SPR through July until the helium snapshot, it'll probably look a lot like what happened with Zen/ZCL.

Keep in mind you don't have to run the cards @ 250w. They become less efficient over 150-170w IMO.

I'm powering 4 off an EVGA 1300 G2. Total power draw from the system is probably 800-900w I estimate.

thing is , only upto a certain point the core overclock would work, after that if you don't give it more juice it won't take it to that clock speed.

Lot of calculations involved if it's worth pushing it to those levels. For example- I see the result right away in games the gain of FPS but for mining, I am not at an advanced level to figure that out yet.

So I've left tdp at 100% and core clock to 190+ , so now it goes to maximum level it can with not drawing more than 100%

my aorus wont clock up more than +140, but as far as cooling is concerned is very good

Also, why does my nicehash hash rate always start high and end low...


I installed the gaco-mod and I'm earning a bit more with Equihash. I used to earn the best with lyra and lbry, but now equihash brings in more.

Are you using nicehash and not directly mining with a pool? If so, id really recommend switching away from nicehash. You could be earning more by directly pooling with nanopool for example.

Unless there is some issue with teh drivers on linux i'd say something else is wrong

That's a pretty big gap

I can get that while playing league of legends at 60 fps on windows 7. From what I can tell my cards aren't that great considering they're gaming x's with two 8 pins
