Well as mentioned elsewhere (and many people should know anyway) if you use cgminer it will tell you when you found a block and also the first 12 bytes of the hash (I wrote that bit Tongue)
That then makes it completely transparent about what the pool is doing - assuming it is doing it all the time.

I guess the other mining programs do something similar? I don't know I've never used any others (for BTC).

But people mining can simply post the block hashes they got and then it should be apparent what is going on.

Anyway they do not mine blocks or have rounds so they can't post this...

related,  ABC pervz, would the control of gigaminer please contact me. If you don't I will just post the data here...

Are you accusing abcpool.co of using others hashing power to pool hop? Do you have evidence of this?

Remember a while back in this thread ?

Well...confirmed.

The fact that the operators of this pool have not responded to those comments is cause for concern, at least for me.  Looking forward to getting some resolution soon. You can say that I am being paid for my hashes at the agreed upon rate, but I assumed (and shame on me I guess for assuming) that my hashes were used to find a block for this pool, not forwarded for use to other pools.

We're currently migrating ABCPool to a load-balanced setup, which is causing some unforeseen connectivity issues. We hope to have it resolved within an hour.
Thanks for the heads up.

Is there any plan in the to give notification of these types of maintenance events in advance?

You have probably noticed ABCPool was down for more than a day last week due to a DDOS attack. While we have been working around the clock to mitigate it, it's near impossible to continue service during such attacks. Several large pools have shown that in the past (deepbit, slush, btc guild to name a few). Still, we are working hard on a number of countermeasures for the future that will at least be effective in some scenarios.

We are sorry for any downtime the attack has caused you.

For your mining pleasure we have lowered the nominal fee to 1.5% for the rest of January!

Happy hashing!

Thank you for listening.

infos like round stats, block history, top hashers would be nice to have?

I might a bit slow in the brain so I don't understand your "lmfaoing" at me, Mr Goat.  Undecided

From a cgminer POV the problem seemed to be about only 7 minutes.
And you need to restart the miner to get it working with the long poll not timing out or at least I had to do it here.
It was 4:34am here so I didn't touch it (and I didn't have a backup pool either)
So it just kept trying for 7 minutes and then went back to normal.

It burped. Knocked my phoenix clients over to alternate, but all my CGminers are up and running on ABC.

We experienced some performance issues. Everything should be back to normal now.

C.

So I guess with the lack of response on the fee questions you are going to leave them as is despite your unreliability as of late. You were more reliable as a pool when there were no fees. There is still something going on because normally my miners are at 100% all the time but their usage is constantly below that value right now. If this continues I will be leaving the pool permanently. My miners are about 4% lower than usual so that's like having an 8% fee now, not to mention my downtime the other day.
