You don't have to have it public.
Just look at the homepage, make sure there's shares, btc and your address.

But you said public node

Yes I did! My IP was showing on the public IP node before the long block. During the long block my IP wasn't showing there, neither do now. I didn't fiddle with the settings, but now i remember that i did installed some MS updates and rebooted the PC during the long block. But after that everything worked "normal". Started p2pool and cgminer, as usual, and that's it!
How can I tell if I am doing it right, right now!?

Or you may used a compromised node
What you mean? I started the p2pool then cgminer, like usual, and that's it...

Yes I was mining 24/7, the whole time. And when the block is found I got nothing and p2pool continued like nothing happened. I was on the public node but suddenly I am not anymore, today I got the payment from the last blockbut not from the one before - the long one... I am using 13.1 and this is wallet 16F9t8PKoohyhgfgU1iRe83RPvMrLCzJYM. I think that I have been hardforked...

I think he already figured out he was forked

That was a different guy, and this guy says he's been using 13.1.

Can someone explain what is going on? Please! Pretty please!  Undecided

Can you find your payout address here:
http://blockexplorer.com/block/000000000000000a6913ee4ada3b92bed9f1398ad8f22f4f944a5d5593197d68

if it is listed in the above link, the payout exists, you just have to find where it went in your wallet. Also double check your payout addresses in p2pool, make sure that there isn't a typo.

you won't show up in p2pool-nodes.info unless you have a well connected public node. If you do have a public node, would you mind sharing the IP address so we can check out the stats and configuration?

No, it does not exist in this payout round, all the settings are untouched. I got payment of todays block, after that one....

Were you mining long enough to get a share on the previous block?  What is your average share time, and can you review the historical charts to make sure you found a share?  Alternatively, if the node is on a public ip/port share them and we can take a look.

Ok sorry if these answers are somewhere in the 306 pages of this post, I did not read them all.

Is the real pool site www.p2pool.org? The reason I ask is, the Wiki talks about needing to run the wallet program with some arguments, and a p2p program. The .org site says you can mine with just the wallet address as your user name.

I'm also interested in mining several coins(one a day depending on value) with your site and was wondering if that is a bad idea, it sounds like my return goes up the longer I mine a particular coin.

Thanks
Rotor

P2Pool is software that allows people to do distributed pooled mining.  You run the p2pool software and bitcoin software yourself and you point your miners at your own installation of p2pool.

p2pool.org is a website where someone (not the author of p2pool) has taken the p2pool software and is hosting a public node that anyone can mine at (for a fee).  You can point your miners there without needed your own installation of p2pool as long as you are ok with delegating some amount of control of your mining activity to the owner of p2pool.org.

If you want to run your own node, you need bitcoind and the p2pool program.  If you want to connect to a public node, you can just use your wallet address as your user name.  If you run your own node, you can merge mine any coin that supports it.

After hearing about the hard fork and upgrading to 13.1 via git pull, my litecoin p2pool instance has been showing insanely high share difficulties of around 16 days expected time per share (pool rate reads around 700 MH/s). So I haven't gotten any LTC shares or payouts since July 4. I thought maybe this had to do with the fork before most clients have upgraded, but the difficulty has not noticeably decreased at all in the last couple of weeks. Meanwhile, my BTC p2pool instance behaves normally. Ideas what's going on here?

I was getting 0.12BTC/block 2 days ago.
Now i'm getting 0.02 for the last 2 blocks and when i check the site it dosnt show my address as mining, it shows that current payout is 0.02 at the site. but at home it sais 2.22 for some reason.

any1 know what is wrong ?
also it says the P2Poll is mining with only 48gh total.

Are you on a fork of the main p2pool network?  What does your p2pool console output say the total p2pool hashrate is?  Is your p2pool software up to date?
