If you have enough, you might be able to push us over the edge Wink

Edit: 3% remaining if it is based on the hourly average

only 2 (~165GH) but i'm sure there are many other ASIC owners that would point there maschines to p2pool if it's working. The only reason for many ASIC owners is that p2pool was not working form them.

Hopfully p2pool will work and the hashrate will go to up some TH/s  Grin

More hashrate would be fantastic.  My little AM USB farm shouldn't be in the top 10 Tongue

the changes will take effect 12 hours after 95% of the mining power has been upgraded, as usual.

I guess it will be a little while yet.

I just wanted to give a shout out too and let the p2pool community know about NastyFans.org.

A significant portion of the hashrate for p2pool comes from OgNasty's mining operation. They mines BTC/LTC/NMC/FTC/IXC/DVC. He really believes in decentralization of bitcoin and has been supporting p2pool both with hashrate and donations to development.

There are a group of supporters called the NastyFans, and info is available here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/nastyfans-the-bitcoin-enthusiast-fan-club-est-2012-86854
and here:
https://www.nastyfans.org/about

The fan club receives donations back from the mining operation at rate of ~4.8% per year. Shares are exchangeable at auction as well, so you probably should think of it more as a dividend producing stock than a share in a miner. Market cap is close to $1 million.

Of course, do your due diligence, but this seems to be an ethical and good supporter of bitcoin - I just wanted to spread the word and let people know where our hashrate is coming form (in case you weren't aware)

I'm not that into mining, but does P2P charge a fee?

As stated above, P2Pool does not charge a mandatory fee.  That being said, we are donating 0.9% of both BTC & LTC earnings toward the future development of P2Pool.  I see this as us doing good.  I do believe we would be slightly more profitable mining with one of the large pools and withholding donations, but I personally would rather do what is best to support the community and Bitcoin decentralization/development in general.

should be fixed now

No shares. Expected time may be 1.6 hours then again 1 day.
Is it normal? Will I get any shares with p2pool?

As you see: Expected time to share: 21.4 hours
Variance make this number 5x bigger or smaller, depend on your luck. Wait a bit longer Smiley

348kh/s is miniscule.

M

for LTC it's respectable, equivalent to ~500MH/s on BTC's network.

Good point.  I missed it was LTC.  When it said 21.4 hours to share, I assumed the worst.

i have been maintaining one for btc at http://p2pool-nodes.info/
i noticed you hard coded the port number, but there are nodes that don't use the default port.
i have filtered out p2pool versions that aren't on 11.x or 13.x right now and those that are disconnected from bitcoind.

Did you base it on p2pool-scanner or wrote your own?

The Litecoin Project is proud to release the source of p2pool-scanner, an node.js app that scans the entire p2pool network and generates a page listing known public pools.  The main benefit in releasing this source is to allow BTC p2pool to use it.

The p2pool LTC network is listed here.  Yes, the current ordering is not ideal.  Ordering by uptime isn't the greatest idea.  It should be smarter in excluding old, known buggy versions of p2pool and when the daemon is warning.  Please send pull requests to the above github project with general improvements to the code.

Someone else should run the official BTC p2pool-scanner.  Keep it stable and contribute improvements to the source project, and we can ask forrestv to link to your p2pool scanner from the OP.

how many percent was updated?  where can we see? can wait for the switch.

I'd also like to know what percentage of the network has upgraded. Based on http://p2pool-nodes.info/, its 96 nodes are still at < v13.0 and 32 at > v13.0, so around 25%.

I don't think number of nodes is the metric for cross-over, I think it's percentage of hashrate.

Right now it is:
13: 36% 360 GH/s
11: 64% 640 GH/s

I'm doing test mining with versions 13.0-13.1 for two days

Code:
2013-07-10 10:47:12.841000  Local: 348kH/s in last 10.0 minutes Local dead on arrival: ~3.8% (2-6%) Expected time to share: 21.4 hours

p2pool-nodes.info only shows a portion of the public nodes.  A bit over a week ago it was only showing 30-40 nodes but I was able to tweak my pool to attempt to explore and it found ~260 public nodes.  p2pool-nodes.info hadn't found my public node for about 5-6 weeks.  It finally updated last week sometime.

Treat p2pool-nodes.info as a sample, not an exhaustive list.

i switched my node host to another machine and it just took some time to rebuild the list of p2pool nodes. i plan on adding the ability to manually adding a node and possibly custom hostnames instead of just the ip. but it may be a few weeks before i have time to incorporate it. however, i was able to add the bitcoind latency and hash rate of the node to the list.

Actually 8x isn't that rare either ...

3% probability for x5 and 0.4% for x8 to be exact...
