Odd, my node still sayin "5.0", git pulled today.

Anyway, complied last p2pool commit on win32 including LTC this time (finally get mingw working)

please don't call it "super nodes" like a Skype super node because this nodes are ordinary nodes with bitcoind running and the only difference might be that they are well connected and have a large uptime. Wink

they aren't ordinary nodes.. it's highly likely that they have modified the source code to allow 500+ outgoing connections

I guess it refers to the introduction of getblocktemplate.
From the information I perceived, it makes pool server to return the power of making blocks back to miners, just like p2pool;
but you still need a pool server to determine how to distribute block rewards, like p2pool uses a share chain.
P2pool switched from using getmemorypool to getblocktemplate one month ago,
so it is already in the not-yet-announced 0.4 release

P2pool v5 seems to be stable, maybe post change log and update 1st post?

nope. if i were you i wouldn't start mining with that.. get a decent video card or a used fpga and start with this.

Your "stone-age" (sorry to be hard Tongue

) PC will not mine efficient .... you wont make any profit. you even might not break even if considering electricity as a factor.

I is a noob but forgive me I don't have time to read through this long thread, I have a simple question. I want to mine just for fun and to get that warm feeling inside that I'm contributing. Back to the question, can P2Pool and Bitcoin handle that?

P2pool will just adjust share diff to pool hash power in minute. We see that already when pyramining join and we hit 500GH.
Bitcoin network will also adjust but much slower ;]
But witch that power is not better to mine solo?
