it would all hinge on the input, that is why you have to ask 4 the key

ok then, here is my question:

Where is the key? Is the key located at the 3 virtual coins or it can be found in your answers?

hope you can answer this  Wink

Well it definitely has something to do with the number 4 since he is saying ''4 the key'' and not ''for the key''

Binary-coded decimal, or BCD, is a binary encoded representation of integer values that uses a 4-bit nibble to encode decimal digits

Perhaps something to do with this?

So if you have thrown it in the 'bin', the outcome is the password?

 Wink

This looks like a yes.
But when I throw something in the 'bin', the outcome is always a number without letters. You said that 000000000 - 999999999 were wrong, so how is that possible?

First of all, steveturk: I am really enjoying this. I love puzzles etc, so this is fun!

Well, let's try to ask questions then.

It is kinda clear that we have to use binary numbers. Is it the 2-base binary system that we have to use?

"ask 4 the key" - this is just too blatant!

Also: the first calculation, which could be done by a 5 year old, does that have to do with the 000 001 and 100 ?

''good idea, but the first part of the equation can be solved a by a 5 year old, once you have that answer you just need to throw it in the "bin"

that's why it's a treasure hunt and not a quiz.

hope you are having fun.

ask more specific questions, that alone should get to the answer ( by a process of elimination )

{ask 4 the key}

Do we literally have have to ask for the key? Allright, can I have it?
Or is this meant as a clue?

{} = clue

Maybe the clues seem really clear to you because you know the answer but for us they are not

Guys, any post that just spams a bunch of numbers will be deleted.

PS. It's not a guessing game, so it won't be random

Here are my guesses Cheesy

You realize it has to be 9 characters right?

No problem, just exclude all the 8 digit numbers and the 9 digit numbers will be my bet.
