I finally finished my pie and was able to participate in the Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest.
Looking at the many entries and the good and delicious-looking pies, I was quite hesitant to showcase mine.

But, the real goal is not about who is better and more delicious.
I was more judging the process of making the pie which was certainly an unforgettable moment.

Making a baked pie with the help of my niece and wife seems very memorable.
With many processes carried out and occasionally I explain what bitcoin is to my nephew and what the purpose is to make this pie.
Also explaining whether bitcoin is valuable or not and the future of bitcoin. Like elementary school children in general, there are many questions and as much as possible I answer very briefly and simply.

And this is the result of our family creation, Baked Pandan Pie with Bitcoin Symbols, and of course it is very sweet and delicious,
even though it doesn't look as good as the others, this pie is made with heart.

I didn't make it myself but I bought it and tried to celebrate it with my family. But I will make it myself and post it here again soon.

A wonderful contest.

This pie is homemade by me and my cousin. To make this pie we need sugar, flour, oil, chocolate flavor, baking powder, milk powder, eggs and some other essentials. We had a lot of fun making this pie. And everyone celebrated with this pie after making it.
(...)
I am sorry (again) for saying this, but in order for the contest to be fair for everyone, your submission can't be accepted because that is not a pie but a cake. Fellow Becassine also did that mistake[1] but she turned things up around and also made a pie and ended with two incredible looking deserts. Don't give up, you still got time to make your submission!

The first time I made a cake by mistake.  But I try again to create a bitcoin pie.  Hopefully this time I can make a bitcoin pie.

I made another bitcoin pie. Can I submit this bitcoin pie again?

I stand with Ukraine.
We, my wife and I, decided to make a traditional Ukrainian cabbage pie.

Here's the process:

First, you have to braise cabbage with prunes for 2 hours

adding bay leaves, black pepper, salt and a bit of oil. It will be the filling of the pie.

Then, out of dough made from flour, butter, sour cream and a bit of salt and sugar, you make this thing(my wife made it, I made the braised cabbage) and put the filling in.

Grease with egg yolk, and then cook in the oven for 40 minutes.
Take this beautiful creature out

A traditional Ukrainian cabbage pie is ready.

But if you are participating in the 🥧 1st edition - Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest 🥧, make a Bitcoin symbol out of black sesame seeds, and put the pie back in the oven for a bit more.

Voilà! Here it is, our submission to the contest

Then we went to visit our friends and took the pie with us.

All four of us were satisfied with the taste. Smiley

I baked the pie before fully reading the rules about merit (only 29 merit points away from hitting the 30 minimum to qualify!), so I understand that I'm not eligible, but still had to post since I spent hours on this

Thank you all for the merit! Perhaps I'm eligible now? I had only a single merit point when I submitted, but my pie submission back on page 5 has had a few merit awards. If this makes me eligible now, I'd love to be included in the submission list on the first page.

Placeholder.

Making a cake this weekend and updating here then. Don't expect much though, we are baking amateurs  Grin

Oh shoot, a pie is different than a cake? Ok we eat the cake now and make a pie ( in German it's basically the same ) , need some more days then, hahaha.

After making a cake some weeks ago because I didn't know there is a difference we did the deed today.

Here is our Aomori Apple Pie. It took a while as we thought to make it Sakura themed (because sakura season is starting now in Japan) but as it still takes some weeks we chose to make a simple apple pie.

I hope you like it, even though the BTC got a little dark.  Grin

That cutout of the Bitcoin symbol must have been quite challenging did it not? Thank you for your submission @AHOYBRAUSE, I'll add it to the list.

Hello friends.

The cake I sent for the contest called "King Bitcoin".

I did not use artificial substances, everything is natural. It has orange and cherry sauce. Both grow in my garden. The taste was great. I will say bon appetit to my friends on the forum, but you are all far away. Smiley
(...)
It looks delicious, specially considering the fact that you got most of the ingredients from your garden, I guess it's almost a 100 % biological pie (exempt for the pastry dough  I guess). Thank you, I'll also add it to the list!

My own definition of pie and how I have always seen pie being made and presented to me on several occasions,  I hope my home made and first time baking meet the requirements for this context.

-Goodluck everyone and hope we all improve in our baking skills and prepare more for future baking context.

I'm sorry, we can't consider the entry as valid as that wouldn't be fair for other contestants. If everyone decided to submit their own interpretaion of what a pie really is then the evaluation would also be very subjective. However, you still got time to make a pie as according to it's definition in the OP Smiley.

Do we already know more details about voting process?
Would be nice to vote for multiple participants because we have so many interesting submissions.  Smiley
We do have details about the voting process @1miau, per the OP:
Oh Wow. A lot of Delicious Pie has already been made.
This was the first time I tried to bake a pie. I am the worst at decorating/designing something. My Egg-milk pie doesn't look good, but it tests the best. Unfortunately, I can't invite all of you guys to take a bite  Grin. I can't compete with others. But, never mind. Just for fun.

Here is my submission:

Recipe:
All-purpose flour, sugar, salt, butter, Condensk Milk, 8 Big Eggs.
As I said, I am the worst at designing something. The topping was Toast powder and Souce.
(...)
I wouldn't say you're the worst, the pie actually looks good, congratulations ! Don't be so hard on yourself, I'm sure you did pretty great. I've added it to the list!

Cool contest.
I am very happy to be able to participate in the Pie Cake Contest. it took me about 2-3 hours to complete it.
(...)
I'm baffled at the fact that you were able to basically write so perfectly within your pie puloweh555! That's a sick design you've got there, congratulations! I'll add it to the list!

Beautiful Pie puloweh555! you have to have a very good hand to write all those details.

I finished mine yesterday, but it was very late so that's why I'm posting it today.
(...)
Very nice looking pie Porfirii! At first I though that it was carrot filling but then I found out it was pumpkin (I hope I understood correctly your Spanish!). I'll add it to the list as well.

I'm very happy to see an event like this, I'm so excited from yesterday. Making this milk pie should have a BTC, chocolate sweetened condensed milk isn't too visible to write.

joy, satisfaction and happiness is what I feel, thank you OP and the contributors involved in this thread, you inspire me that bitcoin is art and the community has lots of interesting things that are fun, discussions are getting more interesting and I think this is entertainment in a challenge.

one day maybe I can join other events, if merit income is prioritized.

today I just want to share that this is the first time I have forced myself to make a cake like this, armed with a YouTube tutorial.

my family gives me satire and they laugh at me, but it doesn't feel too bad. and when they try it they quite like it. hihihi

Banana pie is always a good pie! I'll also add it to the list.

I am very tempted to enter this competition, but I think I have to focus on my priorities and stick to pizza making.
Bakery is an extremely difficult process, so I think an extra value would be for those who took pictures in the making of the process!

Good luck for all the participants, and maybe I will take part in the second edition!

As someone who is also a pizza maker (sadly I wasn't around when the contest aired) for sure if you're able to make a good looking pizza you'll also be able to make a good looking pie! While you'll be more than welcome to appear in the 2nd edition, I still have some hope that you'll submit in this 1st edition Smiley.

hello RickDeckard I would like to submit an entry.

Tools and materials: Pie mold, dough ingredients (pie skin, 150 gr butter margarine, 35 gr powdered sugar, 3 eggs, vanilla essence
250 gr flour, 15 gr sugar, 150 gr SKM, 15 gr cornstarch and water.
Cost: $12+
Time required: Buy dough ingredients from home to shop (mileage 3 hours+). Make the dough until it's finished 7 hours+ (because I made it the first time  Grin, it failed 3 times and the last one is like the picture below).

Thus my entry, Thanks to RickDeckard and the sponsors for hosting this great event and I congratulate all the attendees for participating, Your pies must be delicious!!

Let's enjoy this contest and have fun !!

Somehow I've missed this submission and I'm sorry for that (I guess there was an edit after I initially browsed the page). Nevertheless, that's a great looking pie, the logo looks really nice! I'll also add it to the list.

It was my first time entering a cake contest, and it was really fun, but I had so little time to do it that I didn't really have a very mature concept for my pie. But I am very confident in my results.
Outer materials:
  • 12 Tablespoons of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of water
Middle ingredients:
  • 11 Tablespoons of water
  • 2 Sachets of skm
  • 1 egg
  • Mayzene flour
  • liquid vanilla

Thanks for hosting this contest.

It breaks me to say this, but sadly we can't accept both submissions since they are not considered pies Sad. They look delicious but it wouldn't be fair for the remaining participants to accept submissions that aren't pie related, thus we won't be able to accept the submissions. Don't feel discouraged as you still got time to participate! I do hope that the cakes were delicious (they do seem like it!). Here's some guidance as what a pie is[2] - I also have the definition in the OP.

Thank you everyone for the amazing submissions we've received so far (and for the ones I'm sure we'll still receive!). For anyone reading you still have, per the time of this post, roughly 2 days to submit your creation! Don't feel discouraged as you'll always end up with a pie to eat after taking a picture of it Smiley.
