Let me share the image above to serve as a record of your last paragraph, Barcelona indeed made a historic welcome back after a long playing time of losing to a small club like Benfica although Benfica has become a force to reckon with in this season's championship with their track record of success this season, it was expected that they definitely will be giving Barcelona a tough run off but even though Benfica was leading all through the first half of the game, Barcelona own squads were able to equalize and adding an extra one goal to come out as the winner of the fiercely fought Battle of the 90+ minutes.
This is a beautiful match with many goals and enjoyable for watching but this emotional win shows weakness of Barcelona in defense. It's a know weakness of Barcelona in many years and in this season it causes many lost points in La Liga. When La Liga and Champions League go to harder phases, Barcelona will have bigger troubles with weak defense.
With Champions League knock out phases, mistakes in defense can be punished by opponents and Barcelona will less likely have chance to fix mistakes and make comebacks. In La Liga, they already fell behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid but defensive weakness still exists.
Wasn't a very "fun" game for anyone who bet for Benfica, and to be fair as someone who wagered on Barcelona, it wasn't really that fun neither until the very last moment
. I mean I did get super excited and happy at the very last goal, and I had to wait until the referee gave the goal too, had to see if it would be turned from VAR, but it was really a nail biter and as someone who has little heart issues, it wasn't really good for my heart neither lol.
In the end, I got the win, and so did Barcelona, but it wasn't a simple game and we had so many issues without a doubt. I get that people could be a little bit less excited and more relaxed when watching games, but I am not one of those, I get super excited and this was a huge game. Think about it, it was a 4-5 win for Barcelona, 9 goals, how often do we even see that?
