For me if I choose I will suggest to give as birthday gift your friend is half cardano and ripple . Because if that coin increase very high for sure you will cry but incase one of them are increase and you have too also it's okay.

I think buying Cardano is better and more promising than Ripple, even though Ripple is in the top 3 coinmarketcap, but the development of Ripple for this year is not good so I prefer Cardano to Ripple.
I also think that Cardano is a more promising coin, but it seems to me better to invest in more reliable coins. Even though Cardano is number 8 from coinmarektcap and Ripple is number 3, but I think I will choose Cardano.

I think that the ripple is still the best because this coin is still starting to gain momentum as it lights up on new bursts every single day, and this creates demand and the price of course grows!
I think Both two coin are good but If I were you I choose the cardano because I love so much than ripple and I see cardano have more potentials than ripple or other option are that you can both buy two coins half of them for birthday this choice is better i think.

I would personally keep Cardano, in my opinion they are a much better coin and have much more potential than Ripple. But if you give him something that will not be worth it, I do not know what present this will going to be.
I don't consider this two coins, anyway on information that I read here on talk I would express that you should give him 2000 swell.
