If a community has that many supporters it must mean the developer has done something right to keep them all around and them come out of their way to vote. Also given the nomination process is ran on very rare occasions, the smaller communities have time to grow and try in the next round.
Please keep in mind that it can be anyone in the digital currency space, not just the developers of a coin.

No, it could just mean there's a lot of alt accounts being used to prop up said 'community'.
I just saw a post two days ago of someone offering 32 votes for a competition here.
The quality of some of the nominated names here should also raises some of your eyebrows.
Besides, the fact that Coin Source is behind this award makes the whole thing a joke.
For all we know, someone paid them to organize this and a winner is already lined up.
And, I wish Satoshi wasn't dragged into this; it dishonors his memory.

I'm sorry, but because of the folks here I would have to agree.
They should make the whole nomination and voting process mandatory public posting with the same requirements to vote as the nominations. You can then check the eligibility of the voting as a manual count alongside the public vote poll for guaranteed accuracy.

I would like to nominate Kingscrown, developer of ExclusiveCoin
I've known him for about 8-9 months and he's a stand-up guy. He helped with escrow for many coin launches before exchanges started doing ICO's and even took a couple hits in the process of making sure it was done fairly. He always follows through and helps everyone where he can and one of the nicest guys I know.
