Nothing to do $1000 and mainstream adoption. When bitcoin hit $1000 no one would be ready to spend it. Everyone will hold it for the price of $2000. So, Only after a very big price like one million dollar per one bitcoin, after holding that price for many years bitcoin may go for main stream adoption. Till that bitcoin would be a investment.
I suspect that you were not around when the bitcoin price hit $1000? There were loads of people selling at that threshold, since most people saw that as the turning point. There
were a few guys hyping for the Moon, but most people anticipated a drop after the $1000 price was reached. It was a crazy time and nobody knew about the Willybot at the time.
I also think, we will see a price increase in 2016 after the halving, but it will not go to $1000 just based on that...
