Yes, it is. Ethereum needs to use this year to rise again because of the last year is not good for ethereum. Besides that, they need to increase the price by doing something like for example, release the update of Constantinople which many people will help ethereum price can increase. But it will need more support from many people including from ethereum community if they want to see the ethereum reaching the highest price again this year.
Well, im actually not interested to buy ethereum because its not the year for ethereum i would better to buy litecoin because there is a block halving.
Even at the fall of bitcoin, ethereum stood high last year, and later it gave a sudden drop in value. By that situation ethereum is predicted to make a forward push and reach the peak value as 2018 is predicted to be the year of ethereum from the beginning of the year. Nothing happened big, and now the focus has turned towards 2019. Let's hope it reach the growth by this year.
I do not think that 2019 would be challenging for Ethereum, we can see the innovations so far and the marked improvement in price in recent days, with the hardfork scheduled for sometime this year, we might see more improvements in the blockchain.
But they're having problems with their POS migration so we'll see if 2019 will be great for them.

You are very correct in this, this is one aspect where EOS has greatly improved on and Ethereum can also emulate this strategy, more and more d'Apps would be built in their blockchain and existing d'Apps would stop their mass migration to EOS.
Ethereum already been a good coin since a long time, so there is no doubt that it will still be a good coin even right now when the market is in slumber.
Next time it should be able to grow big again and keep on being a good coins that worth to invest on.
Ethereum is always a good platform to create new tokens and that is the biggest use of the coin and it has done it dues and because of the platform we have seen so many scams ICO in the market and many unless tokens and many have lost their money because of the scams that were taking place using the platform and it has had it days and the price went over thousand dollars at one point which i never expected back in 2015 when i purchased it during the initial sale, despite all this i really do not see the price reaching those valuations again with strict regulations coming up in the ICO market. Next time it should be able to grow big again and keep on being a good coins that worth to invest on.

I think it takes 10 days to figure out the general trend of getting cryptocurrencies or even tokens! PoW or PoS? Incidentally, I attribute this recent appreciation of ETH and others projects in the expectation of this HardFork and some positive news on ETF! Either way ETH will survive either as in the chain led by Vitalik or via ETC! If ETH fails, ETC will assume the true value of the Ethereum Platform.

Though you have a point but I feel this year will be better for ethereum irrespective of those shortcomings, I see ethereum have good growth this year. I can say that 2019 is the time for all coins to look for their base price not just for eth. Every coin are now positioning to where they should be before the next bull run. Strongest may stay and the weakest may fall.
Yes, maybe this is a year of challenge for ethereum, it's time for ethereum to recover and I'm sure this coin can rise from its slump, there are still many supporters for ethereum, and I'm sure ethereum in the future will develop better
