I think not having Al Horford really hurt them. I’m not sure you can judge this game when one of the Celtics best players is out because of a covid test… I really hope this covid crap doesn’t keep determining the winners of games going forward. The only thing worse than a series decided by refs or injuries is one where it’s decided by covid tests. I hope Al Horford is allowed to play soon because his Celtics need him. I think I’ll wait before saying the Heat are going to take the series until we see what the matchup looks like when the Celtics are all allowed to play.

They were leading in the first half but can't hold it due to their lack of role players, Smart and Horford are absent which they really need the most to play great defense and fastbreak points. The Miami Heat see this hole in the second half which lead them to further cut the lead and finally buried the Celtics with threes. Jimmy Butler is doing his best in this series as well, scoring 40+ points in the conference final something praiseworthy especially when you won from such strong defensive team.

Miami is now low leading the game with 17 pts advantage and I don't know why the heck I bet last night on Boston while Al horford and Marcus Smart is out of the game 1.
Your bet was looking good in the first half though Grin

The Heat's defensive performance and Celtics turnover in the third changed the momentum of the game. How many steals converted into points were there? The fourth quarter was just about trading three-pointers. It's good that the Heat have players that are unafraid to take those shots and respond.

So I know conf finals start tonight but as an avid knick fan....it's lottery night!!  Knicks with a 10% shot to jump into the top 4.  I'd love to see them hit in the lottery and get a wing like bachelor or Jabari Smith.  Would take ivey too, so many holes to fill on the team.

Sorry just as a knick fan every year this is a big night for us.😭

I don't know that tonight is the lottery night?

New York Knicks ended up in the 11th spot this season in the Eastern Conference so I think it can be expected that at least they can get the draft rights for the top 6-10 or much better in the First Round. But if they did some trade before involving trading this off-season their future picks, maybe don't expect good.

Are they cleaned from any trade in the 1st round draft pick? What I mean is, that they will get the rights of their pick with no prior trade arranged during the current season? Damn, am I explaining it right? haha.

Yeah the Knicks hold the rights to theor pucl this year.  Next year they have theor own and dallas's first pick from the kristaps trade.  Was hoping they hit the top 4 but low and behold 38 years since they won the lottery and moved up.  Knicks luck on lottery and draft picks is terrible.

For the match today, it's about to start now, Miami's advantage in the first game is that it will be in their home court so let's see how the Celtics will show up tonight.

Against Boston Celtics, homecourt will never be an advantage. It will all go down on both teams' performance.

Currently, Miami Heat finally gained the lead after a series of being down by around 10+ points in the first half. Other Celtics players are still silent and it's only Jayson Tatum who breaches over 10+ points for the team and 3rd quarter will almost finish now as of this moment.

On the other hand, Jimmy Butler is doing good for the Heat and as always, he is consistent in every game this playoff.

Miami heat home court has the best crowd to be honest when it comes to supporting there team. Miami is now low leading the game with 17 pts advantage and I don't know why the heck I bet last night on Boston while Al horford and Marcus Smart is out of the game 1. I’m not hopingmfor Boston to overturn the result since Heat already got the momentum and might finish this match with a huge lead. Butler is unstoppable while they a good defense by Adebayo, Tucker and Butler. Heat is on fire with this game.

No worries bro, we all know that you are a solid Knicks fan.  Grin.

Just disappointed with the way they show this season, from a very good team last year with Randle and this season was just a shadow of themselves. So hopefully they can get a good player and bring back the life in MSG.

The '22 NBA draft lottery concluded just moments ago. Orlando Magic won the lottery and will pick first in the upcoming draft which is set for next month (June, 23). Most draft boards have Chet Holmgren as the future number 1 pick, he is a big man that can shoot/space the floor, but also a very good shot-blocker at 7'0 ft, 3.7 blocks per game in college. Jabari Smith and Ivey from Purdue are two outstanding young players which are projected to be lottery picks as well. My favorite prospect from this year's draft though has to be Paolo Banchero. He has the size, the athleticism, excellent passer with an alright jumper coming out of Duke, and is possibly the most NBA-ready player. Interesting to see where he lands, lots of upside, him to Houston at 3 looks good imo...

Don't we all? It would take a Dirk-like performance for Luka to lead his team and win against the Warriors. The problem is he doesn't or can't defend like Dirk.

If his other teammates could lock the other two shooters of GSW then this series could be entertaining. Steph vs. Luka or Klay vs. Luka looks like an even match.

I'm expecting to see the Mavericks vs Heat in the Finals. Cheesy

2006, 2011, possible 2022 - different lineup, different roster, and their respective Coaches face last Finals in 2011, Coach Spoelstra and Coach Jason Kidd, although the latter was part of a Mavericks roster back in 2011 (Mavericks head coach that time is Rick Carlisle).

Aside from that, looks to me that the Celtics are more of a threat to the Mavericks if ever they meet in the Finals. That's why I like Miami Heat to advance lol.

We are finally starting the conference finals tonight. If somehow Mavs end up beating Warriors, we are finally going to see a brand new team becoming champions. Obviously Celtics has a ton of rings, but they haven't won one in over a decade, so it should be new for the era we are in right now, Heat managed to get to finals, but ended up losing to Lakers during bubble period, and Mavs last won one with Dirk, so that was a long time ago as well, about a decade so far right?

This is why this finals will be very entertaining to me if Warriors end up losing, I love them and all, but I would like to see someone new end up winning the title.

I'll be sticking with my prediction.
Warriors Vs. Celtics in the NBA Finals.

With how the Celtics played in Game 7, I'm pretty convinced that they have a chance to defeat the Heat. The Celtics are known for their great defense but they also are a good three point shooting team and we've seen it against the Bucks in the last game. 20 threes? If Grant Williams will play like that all throughout the series, they have a chance because I think he is the game changer. If his threes will sink, they can defeat the Heat.

Yeah, Grant Williams had a great performance in decisive Game 7, and there's no doubt that the Celtics were able to win the Bucks because of him. However, it's worth noting that he doesn't always perform so well. If you look at his stats, you'll see that he scored nothing in Game 5 and only 2 points in Game 6. So the Celtics obviously shouldn't rely on him during their upcoming games against the Heat.

After leaving incredible matchups behind in the conference semi-finals, we see these ones in the current stage:

Miami Heat - Boston Celtics
Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks

I believe each one of them is going to be hell of a series. For the first one, I'm favouring Celtics to advance the NBA finals. After seeing how they believed and performed against Bucks, I also started to believe they can at least make it to the finals. And for the latter, I don't have any favourite for now. But if Mavericks play like this again then Warriors had better be ready for a huge challenge.
I'm also rooting for it, though I know they can always go for a head to head game with the Miami Heat but that won't come easy especially when the Heat is also healthy like them but I know they can find a way. They've defeated good teams already and it's not like that they will just give-up easily when they are this close in the Finals.

About Mavericks vs Warriors, I've placed some bets for the Warriors on their 1st game later as I know they have much advantage than the Mavericks but later on, I will think twice again because it's clear that Luka can adjust well like they did against the Suns.

I guess they will say now that Middleton is a big loss for the Bucks. They don't have a shooter to rely on to space the floor and someone who can be a run stopper. Defense of the Bucks was not as high as they played in Game 3 where they shut down Tatum at 10 points and I don't like the idea of letting Grant Williams shoot outside while they block the paint, one of the reason why they loss badly. Adjustments is the big trick and then the bench points.

Yes, he was a big loss, but Celtics really are a strong team, they played very well in the last game and one guy from the Celtics roster showed up, it was Grant Williams, he had a big night offensively.
Sure is. I am not a Celtics fan but that kind of performance is worth to watch. Not just Grant Williams, Jayson Tatum proving why he is the face of the Celtics and stepped up his game when they needed him the most. He must have looked at the mirror long enough to reflect about his worst performance in Game 3 and he changed it way far that we would forget about it.
He reminds me a bit of Kobe and I think being one of his students he got the charisma from him and some identical signatures.
Did Kobe also trained Jayson Tatum before? Wow! I didn't know that, what I know was is that Durant also used to train the Celtics superstar before when I think Tatum was still a high school student or somewhere in his younger years.

Anyway, Tatum and the rest of Celtics roster did a good job on defeating and eliminating two heavy teams in the league this season. Maybe I'm wrong but I think it will be the Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks who will play on the Finals.

I doubt the Miami Heat will leave Grant Williams like that. I watched the entire game of Bucks versus Celtics and I saw the Bucks letting Williams shoot all those threes like a free shot on a practice game. The Heat never played like that, as much as possible everyone will be defended inside or outside the floor.
So after I lose my prediction (Bucks vs Suns) I am changing it to Warriors vs Heat at the Finals. I hope I am correct this time.
Do you guys think a sweep could happen?

Jalen Brunson is really different compared to when Luka is paired with Dennis Smith Jr. and Kristap Porzingis. It's a good decision that the Mavericks traded these players as they were "orb-effect" to Luka. (DOTA term Cheesy)
Haha. So true.
About Dinwiddie, I am a fan back at Nets when he was the one carrying the team with the support of Harris while their 2 stars are injured. Consistency is his problem because he was not given the right break. Now is his time to show what he is really meant to do. He had the playmaking skills and the agility to attack the paint, I won't rely too much on shooting outside since the Warriors don't really have a shot blocker.
If Luka will be defended by Wiggins or Klay, it will all be up to their roleplayers to step up. No disrespect to Steph Curry's defense but the Mavs should attack more if he is the one defending.

Luka will never be defeated, his type of play is very unstoppable,  the more he gets pressured, the more he gets better. Actually, the problem of Mavs on the Suns series on why they loss some games is the inconsistency of his teammates, but Luka was always there to produce.

Has to be a dead heat.  No pun intended there.  I picked celts to move past Miami but it can just as easily go the other way.  Miami has been clearing teams out.  Jimmy B is playing as good as I've ever seen him.  Gonna be a fun series either way.

If him and Taytum are going to play consistent in this series, then it's going to be an even field. As you have said, Butler is playing like he was in the bubble and seems to be proving himself and the team after a dismal performance last year. Now they are just one step to the finals agains the Boston Celtics so yeah, why not after game 7 series?
