Congratulations to the Nets for being the only team to be swept in the first round of the 2021-2022 season. I thought it would be the Bulls but they did better Grin What do you think about Nash's performance as a coach in this series? I thought they had a decent squad to push the Celtics but it looks like he's been outplayed by Udoka.
I think it's the absence of their core players in the season that made them inconsistent. When both Durant and Kyrie were out and Harden was leading them, they are playing better because there was a playmaker. A real play, ball rotation, leadership, but now it's all singular. I don't see this as faulty for Coach Nash, the players' injuries hit them badly, and then the trade.

Meanwhile, Mitchell seems to be missing in game 5 as the Mavs crushed them in the first half.
You mean he might miss Game 6?. Certainly not good news for the Jazz. They are not playing well on both ends of the floor, what more if they lose the Spider. With Luka dominating again after the injury, there is no way they can win when one of their stars is out. Possible hamstring injury.

Watching this Nets/Celtics game and you can see the Nets players giving up. They aren’t putting in any effort on defense and are just bombing 3s. I think this fourth quarter is going to be ugly to watch. I hope I’m wrong and we see Kevin Durant step up and do something amazing to win the game, but as soon as they went down 15 you could see the fight in them die. Nash is tossing Blake Griffin out there to try and get some new energy, but even Dragic is half trying out there. Claxton also looks like he’s going to break the record for the most missed free throws without a make in the playoffs. He’s currently 0-9 with Shaq holding the old record of 0-8.
The Nets/Celtics game has just ended. The Celtics won the game and swept the Nets.
I was just "WHAT!!!!!!!" while watching how the team who most of the bettors pick as the champions this season getting swept by the Celtics.

Griffin played very huge in the final minutes but the Nets just lacked on hustle especially the last play. If somebody watched the end of the game, you will see Horford shot but missed but instead of the Nets battling for the rebound they just watched Smart getting the rebound and score. Like WTF you're in the playoffs and you will play like that. I just hope that the Nets will win at least one game but... it is what it is. I don't know if it is just me but I think Coach Nash must be replaced after what happened to them right now.

Congrats to the Celtics. They will face the winner of the MIL/CHI series which I think MIL will win.

They don't have the legs in this series while the Celtics looks very fresh and with renew energy at the regular season. Yeah, we will all trap, but I didn't bet on the outright for the Nets because it's obvious that when their superstars got injured, it changes the team. Then Kyrie drama put a lot of weight on them and the final straw is Harden being traded.

I think Kyrie will be gone next season and probably coach Nash too. Only Durant will be left and then the team rebuilding with some players that can fit into their roles.

It's over now, the Celtics has won the series, they did try to put up a fight though, when Tatum got his 6 fouls, then made a 9-0 run if I'm not mistaken.

But their defense though, it's so poor that they allowed easy layup even if they are trying to close the gap.

Then Durant misses two crucial 3's, missed a free throw and that's it.

Patiently waiting for Heat - Hawks game as that game promise better things tonight. Milwaukee won comfortably and they are closer to finish the series.

Heat is playing really well. Both home and away records have been really great for them. Their last game with Atalanta Hawks was really interesting but to be honest I liked the Game-3 better because it was really interesting and also it was decided in the last few seconds of the game, only a 1-point difference at the end, and both teams played really well.
Game-4 was also good but not as competitive as the previous one.

I just read that the real reason Ben Simmons is sitting out of this game was that he was worried if they lost he would be the first player in NBA history to be eliminated from the playoffs in 2 consecutive games. That is a pretty amazing statistic and would likely lead to more mental issues for Ben if it happened. So maybe this is a move to protect him for the future. If this is how he’s thinking then there’s no chance we see him until the next round. I’m sure that he’ll have some explaining to do if they win tonight and he isn’t in uniform for game 5… I want the Nets to win just to see how this drama unfolds.

Why do people in this thread think Ben Simmons would have ANY impact in this series. This guy didnt play for 1 year now.
And 1 year ago he was a total liability on offence in the playoffs.
Liability in offense but not on defense and ball distribution or ball movement. At least the Celtics will have to think of another player instead of focusing on either Kyrie or KD.

Quote
I think Brooklyn will try to shut up all the Skip Bayless and so on guys that counted them out and even said KD is not a superstar.
I would like to see them do that in game 4. Getting one back is the least they can do now.

People arguing Brooklyn didn't have a chance in this series are so wrong. They lost on a buzzer in game 1 and led by 17 in game 2, lets not forget about that. Down 3:0 ok, but they lost by 1 7 and 6, thats not 1 blowout.
They had a chance but blew it. I have said it before that whoever had better defense would win the series and that's the Celtics.

It doesn't really matter now how they lost or by how many points. They are still facing a sweep.

Frustrations. Before, CP3 can handle it but when the guys are being caught by it their performance starts to go down. It fuels their other problem, being Booker-less. They will adjust, that's for sure and the Suns becomes a better team whenever they are cornered. Cam Johnson and Bridges will be their key. These two used to attack the paint during season, but that was gone when the playoffs started. If there will be players penetrating the paint, more space will be produced for a better outside shot.
Yes, unfortunately CP3 isn't younger yet, and he's feeling it these days. I believe in the future the new generation will be able to assume this, for example Johnson and Bridges.

Talking about Booker... it is clear, CP3 and the whole team are missing him, Booker is a very important player for the Suns, let's see how he performs after he returns from his injury!

Tonight, Nets might be playing their last game in their series against Celtics. Because Celtics are already leading the series 3-0. This was rather unexpected for me to tell the truth. Because I would have expected a bigger challenge by Nets thanks to Irving and Durant. But these two star players haven't played very impressively in general. As they don't play like that when their team need them the most, they are close to be eliminated by 4-0 as a result. Nets are the favourite according to the odds but I've lost my faith in them.

It's clear that Boston will pass this series, but the Brooklyn Nets will win at least one game. Today, with the support of the audience, they play one last good game and carry the series back to Boston. If they can lock Tatum on offense, if Kyrie and KD shoot well, they win the match. Even if they lose, no one blames them because they didn't have big goals this season.
I am not so sure about your confidence about Brooklyn's win tonight. I don't think they played good in this series and it really feels like something is wrong with the team. Everyone talked about the Harden trade but at least for now, Harden seems to have had a right decision. Anyway, Tatum is averaging 29.7 points in the series. It seems highly unlikely that they could lock him. Jaylen Brown also is averaging 22.7 on 50.9 percent. He is playing good so far. Now that we learned that Ben Simmons cannot play at game 4, I don't think things can get very good for Nets and they could prevent the sweep.

The key here is Kyrie and KD winning the game for the Nets. And because of the Boston's good defense, it will make it very difficult or impossible now for the two of team to carry the team. And who will lock down Tatum on offense? KD? no one can guard Tatum on Nets side that's why he has a good series so far. So it's possible that we are going to see the first sweep of the playoffs.

The Suns are now in a bit of trouble because Pelicans are slowly picking up the pace and already have a momentum, especially now that Booker might be out for this entire series after It was reported that he might be out for 2-3 weeks for a hamstring injury.
My prediction would be, whoever wins game 5 will definitely win the series, even If this match will settle in the game 7.
Pelicans now have a higher chance.
Suns are a great team since last year, but can they get the championship this year?
Homecourt advantage, Suns have the upper hand. But it all comes down to the perfection of every play that the Suns will make. That's true, Booker is out and will not be seen on this first round again, worse even the 2nd round if they advance in this series. But we know how CP3 does miraculous things whenever he controls the pace of the game. Ayton and almost the Suns roster will be dragged by that contagious energy and will win most of their games.
They've been through this without Paul or sometimes without Booker. I know they still can. They won't be the number 1 in the league if not.

Honestly this series looks like a 50/50 shot now for either team.  Not because it's tied up and stating the obvious but the pels didn't luck into a win or 2 they won those themselves.  Game 5 is going to be an all out fight to the end and I wouldn't miss this game for the world.  Suns need to figure out how to fill the hole Booker made once he got hurt.  Not saying 1 for 1 but they need to figure out a different way to win.  Not betting on this series too up in the air at this point.

Right, the momentum has now shifted to the Pelicans side. CP3 has his worse game in the series. The next game will be tough, as I believed who ever wins this game might win the series itself. So it's really hard to predict the game as there are a lot of variables. But eventually the Suns with their experience will win the series for me, it could be in 6 or 7 games.

They will find the right adjustment to make a win. It's tough losing your top gunner, but it isn't the first time they missed him

and they continue to win a game, though we are in the playoff and the series are now tied. The need for Suns to answer back should happen

this coming game 5, defense should be there for the trio of NP, Ingram, Jonas and CJ are really doing everything to survive. It's time for the

top seeder to do the same.

If they will be consistent like this and will be remain healthy throughout the whole conference then yes they can even go up to the Finals, I'm not going to doubt their talents because they have proved it already even to the end of regular season until now. Not gonna lie Tatum have stepped up and I think there's more he can give than that, from being a pure offensive player now turns also turns into a defensive player.

If this will be a sweep then they will be facing against the defending champion in the next round, the Milwaukee Bucks.

I think it's too early to say that the Celtics will be able to reach the final series. To be honest, I'm also surprised they could stop Durant and Irving so easily. However, I doubt they can stop Giannis and his teammates in the second round of the playoffs as easily. Even if they can somehow beat the Bucks, they'll most likely play either against the Heat or the 76ers in the Eastern Conference finals. Both teams can be insurmountable opponents for the Celtics.

I don’t think the Celtics have a chance against the Bucks… It is starting to seem like they’re going to finish the Nets off tonight though. I feel like with Ben Simmons not playing now, they’ve basically given up on this season. Instead of embracing this Ben Simmons narrative and trying to win 4 straight and go into the next round, they’re going to let him sit out and then have a nice excuse for why the team failed this year. I guess we’ll see if KD comes out to defend his legacy and if they do get the win then we can see how Ben’s back feels then… Something tells me he won’t be making an appearance this round no matter what happens.
