Atlanta Hawks got a really nice win after a tight game against Brooklyn Nets. And it was a magical night for Kevin Durant too. He scored 55 points in this game and showed one of his best performances of the season. But when there is not a big team play, you can still lose the game like it happened here too. They lost by 122-115 still. However Brooklyn Nets must be still happy to guaranteed promoting to the playoffs. But it is impossible for them to enter top six from now on. So they will play an extra playoff round.

I think the Nets are more concerned with getting Durant the scoring title over LeBron than they are with winning games. Now Durant is only 0.2 points per game behind LeBron. With the Lakers playing today in a couple hours on ABC I’m expecting to see LeBron try to put up a huge game to keep himself in the top spot on the scoring list. I have a feeling we’re going to see LeBron and KD both putting up some big numbers the rest of the way as Durant tries to keep LeBron from becoming the oldest player to ever win a NBA scoring title.

As for the Lakers, it seems that they have given up this season, even if they made it to the playoff and win, I'm seeing them losing in the first round.

Fans had already given up too, they are not expecting anymore that the Lakers will make it to the playoffs. Looking at their coming games, I think they have a tougher schedule compared to the Spurs and Pelicans.

I'm checking the betting odds now.

Will this (team) make it to the playoffs?

Clippers 4.20
Lakers 11.00
Wolves 7.00
Pelicans 4.40
Spurs 7.00

source.

This is unusual, Lakers at @11, that's some kind of a steal for those who think they can still make it. Their standing with the Spurs is very close to each other, so taking risk with that odds would be okay, but of course with some limit.

No chance for the Nets to be in the top 6, with the loss to the Hawks, they'll be in the play-in tournament.

I don't understand why Irving and Durant try to do everything in the scoring department, they don' share the ball well, in this loss, only two of them have scored a double-digit, not good for a team.

If they will lose in the play-in tournament, that would be a major disappointment for the fans because they were expecting the Nets to compete in the playoff which is in jeopardy right now because of the current play they have in court which does not really have a good result so far. luckily only a few games left in the season because if there were more games, they are more likely to become like the Lakers who are out of the play-in tournament.

I doubt they'll lose in the play-in tournament.. Maybe the Lakers will but not the Nets. Durant and Irving have the experience in the playoffs, and they get better in that kind of situation, just like the past playoffs, if only Irving was not injured, they might beat the Bucks that time.

Yeah, I do agree, however, it's only Durant and Irving that is carrying the load for the Nets. Drummond maybe as the 3rd choice? or maybe Curry? but they are inconsistent. Just like the game tonight, Durant pour in 55, but they still lost.

As for the Lakers, it seems that they have given up this season, even if they made it to the playoff and win, I'm seeing them losing in the first round.

With that the Jazz lost 6 on their last 10 games. Tied with the Nuggets and only 2 games above Minnesota in the 7th spot. Their remaining 4 games will be crucial against MEM, OKC, PHX and POR.
Timberwolves may now be excited about the chance opening for them. If the Jazz keeps on losing all their games (they may lose 2/4 if Grizzlies and Suns won't rest their stars) the Twolves can squeeze themselves in the 6th spot. Upon checking their next games it sure is an easy road ahead. They may be able to have a perfect 4 wins straight.

Lakers now on the 11th, I don't think they can recover. The Nuggets will force a win here to avoid what is happening at the above statement.
Wait, what happens if they are tied with the Spurs? I checked their history and they are tied at 2-2. I know they use that basis for a tiebreaker but what if it's also a tie?

Damn, the Warriors surprises me again. Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson both had 30+ point defeating a complete Jazz team.  Shocked
Poole especially has his nights but it became a consistent night scoring at high numbers. His confidence is way up compared to other players of the team.
Then there's Gary Payton II who I think made his father proud on that last quarter clinch moments. Cuts, 3 point, rebound, and defense. It may not be seen in his stats but his impact to the crowd is high.
18-0 run, Warriors win.
The good thing is when Steph is injured and cannot play, there is Poole who can be the substitute for him and just shoot threes wherever he wants to and sinks Cheesy.
Just watched it on Youtube and Mitchell's reaction after the game is he just put his 2 hands in his head showing frustration on what happened. An 18-0 run at the final minutes of the game is just insane and that is the momentum shifter.

I think they can still make it to the playoffs, could go 2 out 4 in their last games or so.

For the Warriors, everything really falls into pieces when Poole and Thompson is shooting high percentage. The last time they lost to the Phoenix Suns, it was really close, but it was only Poole who had a good game that time, Klay just so-so performance.

Now, that both of them exploded in this game, doesn't matter if Utah has a good lead. For sure the Warriors are going to close in and eventually win this game.

Maybe that's the kind of problem that they have to fixed.
IIRC, in the last playoffs, they were also ahead against the Clippers but they allow the Clippers to have a big run and beat them, and take note, Kawhi was out that time, it was only PG who are carrying the team.

They are not in a good position, if they will still lose some games, they might be in the play-in tournament.

Atlanta Hawks defeated Brooklyn Nets 122-115. Trae Young had a very good performance with 36 points and was the most effective player for the team to win.
Durant and irving scored 86 points in total but it wasn't enough for the win. Durant's performance was very good, but when everyone in the team is not playing well, it is a bit difficult to win a match Sad

Simmons has not played yet, imagine how it will improve the defense if he will be in the court.
I hope he will fit though.  Smiley

Simmons is also a superstar, that's why he was traded to James Harden. Let's hope that he would blend well, otherwise, their bad chemistry will kill their chances to be in the playoffs or in the playoffs. Remember that Simmons hasn't debut yet with Nets, so we don't know what he can bring to the team.

Of course, fans will be disappointed as it's another super team not able to make it to the playoffs. We slowly accepted that the Lakers has a very less chance of making the playoffs based on how they are playing now, but not seeing the Nets, I think that's another big thing, and I don't believe that it will happen.

Do you watch the recent match of Lakers? If ever Lakers can go to Play-in tournament, they can easily get a spot on the playoffs because Lebron and Davis are monsters during playoffs as they already get the Championship to prove there skills. There’s no need to compared Nets and Lakers because they are both great team with great players capable to carry there team to Finals.

Poor Durant. Scored career high 55 but still lost. Ice Trae was in the building! Quavo is happy, whole Atlanta is happy.

I guess Durant is fighting for the scoring title for this season that's why he tried to score as much as he can. And yeah, we all know how Ice cold Trae Young is, so of course he will deliver in front of home crowd with 36 big points to go with 8 assists. So they move go 8th solo and with their 5th straight win.

It's over for the Los Angeles Lakers.
You can see this when you look at the remaining 5 games.
It is very difficult for them to win these games.

LAL vs Denver
Phoenix vs LAL
Golden vs LAL
LAL vs Oklahoma
Denver vs LAL

If the Lakers still have enthusiasm, they will be able to win the Nuggets and the Thunder. However, it won't be enough because the Lakers also need their opponents(the Spurs and Pelicans) to lose a few upcoming games. Even if the Lakers somehow manage to finish the regular season in 10th place, the final result will still be sad for them because they will either lose to the Pelicans in the play-in tournament or lose to the Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
