It maybe huge lose for losing Porzingis on their roster but still Celtics is fine. They already reach up to finals even if he's not around. Its just unfortunate that Celtics that he's out again due to injury since his presence will make Celtics became more stronger.

But unfortunately bad luck happen and he suffer from rare injury that's why Celtics maybe need to adjust their rotation again to remain their positive flow on finals. Game 3 will be exciting for both Mavs and Celtics fans since for sure that Porzingis absence will give certain hope for Mavs that they can eliminate those disadvantages what Porzingis could bring in the court.

That's the reality we can't deny but the job of the Dallas in scoring the paint would be easier as Celtics does not have big men that are good defenders. Well, Al horford is there but he'll get tired and will not be effective in scoring if he'll continue to defend the paint, and we all know he is old or getting old, so he can't play heavy minutes defending.

It's a good advantage of the Mavericks if KP will indeed not gonna play, but as we all see in the last game, he tored his ankle and after that he wasn't moving the same anymore, so I guess it's Dallas time to win.

EDIT: Report from twitter states: “Kristaps Porzingis Reportedly Has A Torn Medial Retinaculum In His Left Leg And His Status For The Rest Of The Finals Is Up In The Air”

Dallas with some hope for game 3…

It's funny, Porzingis just recovered from an injury, surprised everyone in the first game of the finals series, and then got injured again. Let's see if he'll be able to play in the upcoming games, but as far as I know, his status is listed as questionable. I hope the Celtics medical staff might let him play in the remaining games of the series, although with some limitations.

Yeah, we can see that Porzingis is enjoying game 1, shooting from the outside and then at if teaching Lively and going him to school with his moves. So it will be another losing opportunity for the Celtics if Porzingis will be out indefinitely and it could be the whole series and not help the Celtics here.

And that's why I said that I'm going to bet on Mavs here at ML, without Porzingis presence, maybe it will be the first time in this series that Luka can finally make a lob pass and enjoy the game as he used to like the series against the Wolves wherein he has a lot of assists inside with just throwing it to either Lively or Gafford.

Yeap, it's going to be a battle of momentum, just one game at a time, and if they win game 3, the next game will still be in their homecourt so t hey can tie the series and then go back to Boston Garden and hopefully steal one game.

I think Dallas will win if KP will not play, as for the latest update, the big man is questionable.

Porzingis has rare tendon issue in lower left leg, is questionable for Game 3 of NBA Finals

Game 2 was close but not almost, so they need to correct every mistake they have and should play perfect at home and consider it as a do or die game, actually every game as currently being down 0-2, they don't have the odds in winning the series.

Thanks for this info, and perhaps that's why KP is not really showing that good in game 2 as compare to his performance in game 1. So if he is not going to play, then maybe we will see lob passes by Luka and Kyrie to Lively, Gafford and even PJ Washington because that's what they are missing, easy points in that paint with that lob pass.

And most likely this is the reason why the Mavs are the favorite going into game 3, it will be at American arena in which they are comfortable and then KP is not there to man the middle against them.

The series is 2-0, Boston won both games using home advantage. Now they will go to Dallas, let's see what kind of result they get there.
I still think Dallas will win this cup, I want to think so.
Tomorrow night the hird game of the series will be played, I hope Dallas wins this time.

It's probably the most important game for Dallas tomorrow. They badly needed a win or else no team has ever won a series after a 0-3 deficit. But pretty sure Boston also knows how important game 3 will be. Boston will continue playing at their best or even better because they are challenged with a huge Dallas home crowd.

Yes, it's a must win situation for them, they can't afford to take another L, otherwise it will be 3-0, and they don't want to be on that big hole as no one has ever comeback to win the finals. So they better had plans to stop Tatum and Brown or even KP. Kyrie should really show his best, and I will assume that he had that in mind and I'm seeing him scoring 30+ points here.

You maybe right, if Dallas wins game 3 and starts a momentum, they can still pull this series. But first, they need to get game 3 which I believe is very difficult to achieve. Boston has to continue its defense and put Kyrie's offense into waste.

The crazy thing is that the Mavericks are the favorites to win game 3… In not sure home court advantage can make up for the shortcomings we’ve been witnessing.
The Celtics are deaf with the crowd noise but homecourt advantage is still an advantage for any team that they're playing at their own home.

I've seen a survey that most of the states in the US except one are in wanting to see the Dallas Mavericks win the ring this season. But let's see if that will matter.

I am starting to see fans tell that Celtics @ 4.

Mavs is what we call the sentimental favorites for basketball fans across US. I don't know why they have the hate against Celtics though, maybe it was that Boston has many championships already and that's why they wanted for the Mavs and Luka to get one at least in his career.

I do agree that homecourt advantage is still an advantage. Usually, teams perform very well in their homecourt with their fans behind them with all the support and love. Hopefully, it will be true that the Dallas team can get 1 win in this series, to get him confidence to get back and tie in in game 4.
Maybe that's a reason.

People just want to see another team take the ring. Like for last year, despite that Nuggets took their first one, they're being loved afterward.

This time, it's gonna be with the Mavs. I guess we get that a lot when a team gets a lot of rings already. Also, I don't like those court reactions of fans against Mavs players like Kyrie.

Yeah, the boos that Kyrie got from the fans of the Celtics but I guess the memory is still fresh when Kyrie played with them and didn't bring any plus when he stomped their lucky logo in the middle.

But game 3 might be different for the Mavericks, it's back to where they could be comfortable playing, without the booing fans so I expect Kyrie to be himself and wax hot early. He just need someone to poke him, just like what ANT did to him in their series against the Wolves and Kyrie performing just like the old version of himself like he was still in Cleveland. We need that version of him in this series to make it more interesting.

Poor Dallas Mavericks they are in a really abd situation if they lose only one of their home games they know they are out of the race.
I know right and that's going to lose them not just the ring but emotionally as well. How many games and championships before that have been into this situation that they've never won in the series? I don't know how many are they but this is emotionally going to beat the Mavs, I mean everyone and key role players are going to be the most affected one. But I still hope that they're going to win.

The second game for them was better than the first one, but i still think they stand 0 chance against this Boston Celtics team. You cant make a team only suported in two super stars. In any time a real team is gonna show up and destroy you like Boston is doing with them.
Don't say that bud, but you're right that if the next game will be Celtics' then they had no chance at all. But even with that, I am still counting for them and despite with the 2 losing streak already, I have some hopes for them to win and I'll still bet them. I've got already two losses with my bet on them but still, the 3rd game, I'll still going to bet with them and it doesn't matter whether they'd win or lose.

Yeah I don't think they should be favored here.  Boston has too many weapons and even with Luka playing well they can't seem to figure out how to slow them down.  Games have been hitting the under but if Boston wants to turn it up they can.  I think they have just been dictating the pace.  We could legitimately see a sweep here.

I guess if you were going to favor Dallas in a game it would be this one. A loss tomorrow effectively ends their season. Nobody has ever come back down 0-3 in the Finals. So I’m sure we’ll see them give their best effort of the season. It’s a lost cause though. Boston has their number and I don’t think this series goes longer than 5 games. Most likely only 4.

The spread is -2 for Dallas, that could easily be covered if they'll win this game.

Definitely, so for Dallas bettors, this is probably the last game we would bet on, as if they lose this game, there's no reason to bet on them in game 4, and the series will end soon even if they win game 4. Dallas has to win two home games to make this series interesting to watch because if it goes 3-0 to their disadvantage, the interest of the fans will drop.

I read some rumors that this series wasn't as exciting compared to the NBA finals where the GSW are present. I'm not sure if it's true or backed by numbers, but they can change that if the series becomes exciting to watch.

Maybe not until there's a game left I think there's still chance for Dallas fans to bet since for sure that they won't let Boston to get a sweep since this is really bad for their team and for sure that Mavericks don't want to write a history that they got sweep by Boston in finals. So expect to see another intense level of competitiveness since for sure that Mavs will be more eager to bounce back since they want to prove something that they are capable to defeat Boston despite of their current situation.

I also don't compare their game to GSW since I still find the Mavs vs Boston entertaining since the back story of this series giving some exciting vibes for the fans watching the game. Here is the proof the game 2 of Mavs vs Boston is most watch NBA final for past 5 years https://www.nba.com/news/2024-nba-finals-game-2-most-watched-5-years-abc.

It's true that the Celtics have so many weapons but there could be a shock when they get to Dallas. Boston may have swept the Indiana Pacers but that is a close fight in the Pacers home without Haliburton in Game 3. I think they are getting the odds by using this. Somehow, the Celtics can be a bit rattled when they are playing on the road and that's the chance for the Mavs star duo to take advantage of their home crowd helping them out.

I am not going to stop here anymore. I bet for the Mavs on the first game and the second so I guess might as well continue it. I don't believe they will be swept by the Celtics. There's something missing in their plays and I think Jason Kidd will work it out.

This is the best time to bet on Dallas as they'll likely gonna win this game.  The spread is -2 for Dallas, that could easily be covered if they'll win this game. I like Dallas to shock Boston too, they should have a blowout win here so they'll be more confident in game 4 which is very important to even the series. Though the first 2 games was boring, I feel that this series is going to be long, Dallas in 7.

Anyways, I see Kyrie continuing to struggle in the remaining games. And Dallas cannot win if only Luka is the one producing good outputs. It's going to be 4-0 for Boston. Grin

I'm not sure about 4-0. However, based on the results of the two games of the final series, I would say that the Celtics look better than the Mavs as a team. You're right that the Mavs really only have Luka, who has been performing consistently and trying to do something against the Celtics. Maybe the outcome would have been different if Kyrie had performed better, but so far his performance has been mediocre.
We will see the ML since the game will be in the home court of the Dallas team, they are the favorite, so it could be a good indication that maybe the Mavs can take game 3 because it's going to be in their homecourt.

But it should be a team effort though, not just Luka but for the core specially Kyrie who has been missing in this finals. PJ Washington, Lively and Gafford should also help and not allow themselves to be outrebounded in the next game as it is also crucial for them to control the board and then run.

All of them needs to help, it's now on their homecourt and maybe they'll get some favor from the ref hehehe, but kidding aside, it's a team game and they need to have everyone to involve on both side, they need more on thier offense and  not just mostly from Luka but all the core players needs to step up and play their role to win and gain that confidence and switch the momentum, it's more on team adjsutments and they almost have that last game 2,

though for sure, most fans who watch that game still have that questionable calls from the refs, especially that possible momentum changer if that attempts of dunks fromWashington recieve that push contact from Brown the chance of snatching that game is possible for the Mavs, but, no call means to move forward and look for that clean win at home.
