The Chicago Bulls started off with a pretty nice preseason win last night.  Now of course it is early in the year but I really like what Chicago was able to put together this offseason.  Expecting them to actually start being competitive this year.  I however of course do not expect them to win it all or anything, I leave that to the Nets as of right now.
Yeah, Chicago is one of my dark horse team this season, and probably will bet on them if they are the underdogs because the roster was really upgraded with DeRozan and Ball helping Lavine. They have blow up losses last season, and then really just choking up in the closing minutes, a winnable game that turns into a L.
Hopefully this season, it won't be the case, they can close up games and with good enough momentum to bring them into a competitive year.

Chicago Bulls would be a subpar team this season. A lot of their success depends on how Derozan plays. Though he has aged, he averaged about 22 points and 6.2 assists last season with them. Even Ball will play an important role in the squad. Maybe if Ball and Derozan can utilize their given minutes, maybe the Bulls can show a good season this time. But I'm not expecting too much from them.

All of these examples might not be called anymore or worse they will commit an offensive foul that could be a game-changer when there are seconds left in the game.
A technical on the foul-baiter if possible Grin
If possible, yes I would very much agree with that. They could even offer the extent of a flagrant foul especially with the swing move where the offensive player is like using a jiu-jitsu armbar move. That could really hurt a defensive player if his arm will be dragged up.

I think the NBA will be slowly going back to powering up the inside players like Jokic and Giannis to balance the game.
I would love to see more post-ups too because it is getting more and more extinct in the NBA as shown in this article
Yes!!! Post up games. Duncan days. Damn, that's why I am in love with Jokic when I saw him play.
Having a high standard type of play and the fact that he is using his head while being banged up in the painted area. You can't teach that, it's his own nature.
Just to add, I think defensive players will be hyped because of this rule, they won't be scared to go near a shooter anymore as long as they do it right.

That's why it's very important for them to be healthy this season so the team can play their best and we will see our expectations. For me, what happened last season was not surprising at all, when one star is down, it has a big effect on the team and we've seen the effect, the healthier team wins the game.

In Lakers case, after winning the bubble title. They traded key role players who help them.

McGee and Howard are both best replacement for Davis while Rondo act as Playmaker while LeBron is resting.

If these three veterans still playing with them last season, it can give enough time for LeBron and Davis to rest.

Having those stars who start playing with them now, I see better chance for this team, if they jive well there's a good future for this team.

I hope Zach will continue playing well with the help of Ball and DeRozan. More options for him, no need to force his individuality now,
rotate the ball and pick the high percentage shots.

Well, that's always the case to any sports. I remember the Cavs with injured Love and Irving in 2015 got beaten by the GSW, and the GSW with injured Durant and Thompson beaten by the Raptors. So, that's almost automatic.
Injury is inevitable, when you bet for an underdog in a playoff series, you'll most probably hoping for their superstar to get injured and force to miss a few games or miss the series.

Most definitely, that's gonna be the case again this year as teams are stacked with superstars. Healthy team will have a greater chance at winning.

The new season is going to be starting exactly two weeks later. And the first games are just perfectly good. It looks like there is no sleeping for me that night.  Cheesy  First, Milwaukee Bucks are going to play a home game against Brooklyn Nets. Right after that, Los Angeles Lakers have a home game against Golden State Warriors. It is still very early to make predictions about these games of course as the pre-season games are continuing. Unless all of these teams have their biggest players injured, my favourites will be Nets and Lakers.

I'm looking forward to seeing the other team plays too, especially the Atlanta Hawks, and gonna cheer for my man Trae Young who wanted to bring back his team to the playoffs. The Nets and the Lakers are the most speculated teams to face off in the Finals but things will be different when we reach the actual season games where the pressure are realistic and injuries are random where when it hits the star players on those two teams, it automatically changes the flow of the season just like what happened last time when AD is out of the league.

Feeling old indeed, it was his Lakers and Spain journey that I still remember.

A big man who can dribble the ball well and can hit you both inside and outside. I love him same with how Tim Duncan he has good mental skills in which Kobe really benefited when they form The Big 3 including Odom.

He can create good plays and screen most of the time for Kobe. The feeling that Shaq ain't there no more, but I've got Pau to cover.

Thanks for the memory Pau! time to enjoy the rest of your life now with your loving wife and dear Gianna.

I just saw this news and its kinda sad to see another player retiring from the professional league but it is inevitable since we are all becoming old Smiley.
While browsing on the internet, I saw what Kobe said to Pau. LINK
Quote
“There is no debate. When he retires, he will have his number in the rafters next month. The reality is I wouldn’t win those two championships without Pau. L.A. wouldn’t have those two championships without Pau Gasol. We know that. Everybody knows that. I really look forward to the day when he is there giving his speech at the center of the court in front of all the fans who have supported him over the years. It’s going to be an awesome night.”
Its pretty obvious that Kobe and Pau are the ones who lead the Lakers to a back to back championship way back in 2009 and 2010. Gasol is really a great player when he is on his prime but as time goes by and injuries came to him, it affected his career until this time came.

P.S. Now that the Gasol brothers are out, lets not forget that they are the first ones to be at an all star at the same time. Smiley

Gasol brothers out. Well, it had been a big pleasure watching them dominate inside the paint. Marc's Grizzlies years and Pau's Lakers years, a two time NBA champion partnered with the legend Kobe Bryant. Yes, I am old.  Grin They won't be back, that's for sure but they won't be forgotten.

The Nets are reportedly losing hope that Irving will get the vaccine before the start of the season

Quote
"No further update," Nets coach Steve Nash told reporters after practice on Tuesday. "We support him. We are here for him. Things change. When there's a resolution, we're here for him.
He missed their first practice. Nets players are feeling the impact of not getting the vaccine and I think this should be a lesson for all the players that are still refusing to receive it.

How time flies, saw that on my Facebook account, feeling that we are really old, lol.

Good riddance for Gasol, he is one of the factors why Lakers won a ring post-Shaq and start of Kobe era. He was criticized when they lost the finals against the Boston Celtics, even Kobe called him soft. But he responded next year and winning the ring and fights KG, Perks, and Glen Davis.

As for Irving, felt bad for KD and the rest of the Nets management. I don't know how long KD and Nash can protect his image in the public by not taking the vaccine.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
October 06, 2021, 02:24:39 AM
I agree that the referee will have to look closer, if the shooter is going on the defender's body and the defender is going vertical or shall I say straight after the shooter, then it should be a foul on the shooter.
Curry is know to abuse this before, so we will see if referee are going or a "no call", or worst offensive foul on him.
But the one earlier is a clean mistake from Curry's defender. He's really good at attracting the contact,
for sure, Steve Kerr knows the new rule, but he is not convinced that this one is part of it. He smiles while talking to the ref.
But I agree with this new rule as players is no longer can initiate contacts,
Young and Harden are really good at doing this one to get the refs attention,
if the refs will call offensive foul, we will see more adjustment in the players side,
they won't take the risk of doing this old trick.

I think, I kind of like this new rule implemented. Though we might need some more time to judge it perfectly, but from a naked eye, it seems kind of fair to me. Players like Lebron and Harden are good at abusing this technique but I think if this rule is strictly followed, we might see a shift of attackers trying other kinds of playstyle. Maybe just let some games fly by and then we can come to a conclusion about this rule being fair or not.

The NBA organization does review the feedback of the people as well, and it's always good to see this kind of change that is beneficial for the PBA in overall. Some players master this strategy, they should change it to a new one in order to comply, otherwise, they'll not be effective this coming season.

Anyways, have you guys been following the preseason already?

There are plenty of games played already and it's time to see our favorite players again although some would just play a very small minutes.

Only a good deal will change sixers' management minds, I guess. Simmon's case still hanging even the regular season is almost starting.]

That's detrimental to the team, if they will not release Simmons, they are losing every season, instead, if they will release him and get at least a player that could contribute to the team, then Embiid has someone that could help him. They have to think wisely, there's a reason why Simmons was not yet traded and other teams would not just give their player in return for a problem Simmons.

Honestly, I don't expect the scenario would happen, Simmons value = other player value. It could be 100% vs 80% to make the deal successful.

It is crazy to think someone would pass on that sort of money for any reason. I can relate to him though. When you have a shitty boss that doesn’t have your back, sometimes it isn’t about the money. It’s about getting away from toxic people who will turn their back on you when you need it. People like that are beyond useless and I get where Ben is coming from. I hope he finds a new team and sticks it to the 76ers whenever they play. The way that city turned on him during the playoffs last year was disgraceful.
There are rumors that Simmons is selling one of his residences in Philadelphia. So I guess he may not worry about fines at the moment, but it's worth noting that he can still lose $30 mln after the end of the season if nothing changes. Anyway, Simmons needs to improve his mental health because he should be resistant to stress even if he finds a new team.

I guess what he just wanted is to get out of Philly obviously, and is willing to lose big amount of money. But yeah, superstar athletes should not just physically strong but mentally as well. Maybe he should hire someone to manage his case against Philly here.

And yes we can only hope that some team around is willing to get him out of this situation. The damage is done the only solution for both sides is to really separate.
Sixers is not losing grasp with Simmons, they still in control and like how willing
Simmon, in losing a huge chunk of money they are also in the same boat, they don't want to sell this trade as bargain asset.

Whoever team seeks for Simmon's service needs to offer more. Sixers is willing to bench him but keep him still inside their squad.

I don't think that's a good idea for the sixers, so you are saying that they are willing to play undermanned this season and sacrifice their chance just to give Simmons a lesson? I guess they should focus on the goal, and that is to win since the management invested a lot of money for their roster, and knowing they are not complete this season, they should not expect a championship, or even a chance to be in the ECF.
