hey guys,
Does anyone have any updates about Klay Thompson comeback?
I read on a website that the Warriors said that Klay is making progress. Does anyone speculate when he will actually come back to play?

Since the 2019 finals, Thompson hasn't played any official games, I confess that's a long time hasn't playing, but I hope he has an excellent comeback
Probably December - January. I don't think they will rush this now and let another accident happen just like last year. It will be better if they will put him in at his best health rather than looking for an early win. Steph and Green could somehow create some wins just to avoid being in the last seed of WCF.
Maybe we could get a new poll on whether or not Wiggins will get the shot, sit out home games, or be traded.
Yes, I second this.
I don't understand why.
Quote
Because of local coronavirus regulations in New York and San Francisco, the Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Warriors are required to be vaccinated to play in their home arenas unless they have an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Then,
Quote
The San Francisco Department of Public Health made clear earlier Friday that there would be no exemption for anyone 12 and older at large indoor gatherings.
And more,
Quote
Unvaccinated NBA players are allowed to play this season, though the league has said that they will have to be tested daily on practice and travel days and at least once -- possibly more -- on game days. Fully vaccinated players will not be subject to daily testing.
It's confusing.

If he wouldn't get a shot that doesn't mean he'll be traded as well, I mean the shot was something mandatory afaik for every team (enlighten me if it's wrong). I'd go with sitting out home for him this time now that it was too unclear for him to play.

Also interested in the return of Klay and I made some research regarding this and below was what I found. Seems that we still can't see him play this year but the good thing is he is making good progress and we can expect him to be back in the first quarter next year.

I think this is expected off of Klay considering he wants a full rehab and I guess he wanted to be in his shape as before. If he's progressing that's a good thing for the Warriors and to be honest there are too many expecting his return maybe a surprise for a Christmas game 2021 because as per bleacher report they have a schedule on that day.

Yes, that's what I read as well, early January or before the all-star break is being targeted by the Warriors. But it's not a finally, maybe they are going to look at it on a day to day basis. He is progressing but he needs to be 100% healed and recovered before he can go back and play again. So hopefully by January 2022, we might see him in the floor with limited number of minutes just to get a feel of the game again.

It looks like they need to wait for long time before Klay can play and that can really hurt their organization if that timeline is true, provably they are not a team to beat if their line up is incomplete so maybe its good for Warriors to adjust their rooster and get those possible player who can fill the slot of Klay.

I do hope we cannot see warriors didn't reach the playoffs since its exciting to watch Steph competing other teams on playoffs since the games is more intense compere to regular season.

i'm rooting for brooklyn nets this time, i want to see changes on their gameplay with durant and irving most of the star players got injured in the playoffs last season. there are news about irving that he might miss nets home games because until now he haven't received any vaccine.

i would also like to watch caruso playing on bulls this coming pre season i see that he performs well in the lakers i hope he would improve it in the bulls.

With how much media attention the Wiggins situation is getting, I wonder if there’s going to be any betting offered around whether or not he gets the vaccine. The obvious thing to do seems like it would be to trade him for Ben Simmons but I don’t think he’s a good fit with the splash brothers.

Maybe we could get a new poll on whether or not Wiggins will get the shot, sit out home games, or be traded.

NBA denies Andrew Wiggins' request for religious exemption from vaccination

^ San Francisco rules. As a result, he won't be able to play home games for the Warriors until he gets the vax. There's also the same rule in New York and all of the Knicks team have complied. On the other side, some of the Nets players aren't vaccinated yet.

You might want to consider these things before betting on games. It's not mandatory but they put pressure on these players. It's a sad reality but NBA has to adhere to local regulations.

It's the new world like you are a zombie if you ain't vaccinated. I think there's a good discussion about this in the politics section.
Now we as sports gamblers will have to list all players that ain't vaccinated yet. More work was added while also listing the injured players for every team.

I don't agree with the mandate but it's to protect every player that accepted the agreement. It won't be fair to them if they will be playing against a team who believes the vaccine will not help while they do.
I think this is also a requirement for the entertainment industry to continue with their business.

Exactly, Jamal is one of their main stars so he would also contribute on points and that will lessen the stats of Jokic. Not only Jamal actually, Aaron Gordon was also given a good amount for his contract extension with the Nuggets, so probably he will also improve this season.
That's true but that's just about points and if it's always Jokic who will feed Jamal and Gordon then it will still add to his assists.
I think Jokic really won the season MVP last year because of that. Assists and rebounds especially the tip in's where he get 1 more offensive rebound and 2 points. Add also the fact about his attendance, this guy doesn't know the word "lazy" with 72 games played. To conclude, he is still a big threat to every star who are aiming for that award.

last season with Denver, he only averaged 10.2 PPG _ https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gordoaa01.html
Lower numbers compared when he was with the Orlando Magic.
They gave him a long contract so I am guessing the Nuggets has a lot of expectation on him or they have a big plan to surprise us.

Somewhat of a slow day for NBA news. I guess teams are busy getting ready for preseason and are starting to feel secure in their units. Anyway, big news of the day is that Avery Bradley signed with the Warriors. I’m not sure he’ll see much playing time, but he’s a decent vet that would come in handy if the Warriors backcourt suffers more injuries.
I think Steve Kerr was somehow just cautious in a sense picking Bradley as a backcourt. I wonder if he still got that early season Avery Bradley when he was in the 2019-20 Lakers but I think he still got that. He was used to be good as a starter there and I see he was a good defensive player not much of an offensive, just my two cents.

They could use him as he still plays with high intensity, he would fit with the GSW's style. Based on his previous seasons with different teams, I think he can produce at least a double-digit PPG even playing with limited minutes. He also has the experience also, I'm sure he will be useful with the GSW who are good in grooming their players.

Great news for the GSW and for Avery Bradley as he found a new team.

The caliber Bradley has is fit with how the Warrior's system, good enough for this guy to sign another season and continue playing.

He can provide good numbers even coming off the bench, Bradley can be a good substitute when Curry needs some rest, he's also a two-way player who can contribute both defense and offense, good to combine with Klay and Green.

Warriors may give him good minutes to showcase what he can contribute.

I think he will fit as a defensive stopper for the Warriors, he is know to be a two time All defensive team. Although with the Lakers he also shine as a spot shooter during the Lakers championship run.

Here are his defensive highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmA17MbPW6Y

I'm more interested on how Iggy will play or contribute, he is no longer on his prime. But probably we might see him playing good defense again and shoot 3's.

I don't think so. Avery Bradley really played very well in the Celtics a few seasons ago. However, Bradley had a terrible performance during the previous season, considering that he averaged 6.4 points per game with 37 FG %. So I wouldn't be surprised if he has the same stats next season.

I would say that if GSW makes a good comeback and they finish at a high level, Curry definitely has the biggest chance to be MVP this season. He is getting into those years when you are not super young anymore but still young enough to not have any physical problems, plus you have gained so much experience that you are sort of like a veteran at the same time. Those 30 to 33 years old is the perfect age for most NBA players to become mature and still play amazingly.

It will of course depend on how well GSW plays, but I do not see them play any worse than Dallas. MVP is usually (usually is important here, not all the time) given to player who plays in a good team, you do not see a player get MVP and miss the playoffs. So Dallas or GSW may end up at a lower level, and the other may end up at a higher seed, and in that case the higher seed will have a higher chance.

If Iggy plays the same, Klay fully recovered and play like he usually play and they get a legit big man at the center position, then I can say they'll have a huge chance to make it to the finals this year, but that's not gonna be an easy task to achieve as most of the team in the West has been upgrading their roster.
The GSW before Durant joined them has been spectacular, I don't know If they can still bring back those moments. What I can see as the biggest problem for the GSW is the lack of a dominant big man in the center position.

They don't have a dominant big man in the past as well, it's only Curry and Thompson and their good chemistry that makes them a great team. Iggy is not getting any younger, but let's see if he can still do his job especially on the defensive side.
