Another update regarding the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the sign-and-trade that brought Lauri Markkanen to Cleveland, the Cavaliers gave Larry Nance Jr. to the Portland Trail Blazers much to the chagrin of Cavs fans who particularly appreciated the player's contribution to the team. Larry Nance Jr. publicly thanked Cleveland saying he wanted to leave the Cavs to play for a team with greater ambitions in the short term. The player's agent considered this trade like a win-win.
Good luck then Larry.

A lot of hype on Larry Nance Jr when he joined the NBA, he was solid to the Lakers way back but have to be traded and unfortunately, he went to a non contender team in Cavs.

But since he is not in Portland, I do hope that we will see more of him, specially his high lights dunks as what his father was famous for while playing in the NBA.

I'm happy for him, at least he is now playing in a young team that is always consistent in getting the playoffs, maybe he will be a big help for the team as his aggressiveness is what Portland is needed down low. He can help Jusuf Nurkic not to play much especially in the playoffs as that's the reason why he is always in foul trouble because there's no other big guy that could defend the center of their opponent, especially Jokic.

I think he will be a good fit for the Blazers, but not sure if he can be the one to help Nurkic.

Nance Jr is a dribble penetrator and not an inside defender, maybe he can grab a couple of rebounds from time to time so that's a big help already. I think he will be like the replacement for Melo, coming off the bench to provide some scoring specially in closing out games. Because it's always Dame at the closing minutes, at least they have another options.

Thanks for sharing this information @danherbias07 and @stadus

Well, I believe the reinforcement that the Lakers got was one of the most talked about this year, and it made the Lakers even more competitive!
With Wade, I hope that LeBron can also be NBA champion along with Melo. Before they joined the NBA, they met and became friends during the HS championships.
By the way, Westbrook and Howard were two acquisitions that will make a big difference for the Lakers.

I hope in the future, there will be more relevant trades to keep the teams balanced!

Hello guys, how are you!!?

So... I would like to know if someone have heard of any more moves/trades from the best NBA players and teams? Any other news? rumors? or anything else???

Lots of movements had happened already, some of the names are Westbrook, Melo, Howard, and probably Rondo going to the Lakers. For other teams, the Bulls have improved their lineup as well. I'm following this website, https://bleacherreport.com/nba-rumors.. actually just one of the websites I followed if I'm looking for news and rumors.

Bulls is trying to be more competitive this season adding players that will help them win, it's no longer Lavine alone but they've got now Alex Caruso, DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball that will help him in the front court putting more offensive threats to their opponent, while earlier last season they also have Vucevic that will give them pressure inside though Vucevic can also shot outside.

With Rondo's buyout expecting him to sign with the Lakers, we've seen how he helped the team way back, another good veteran to be added with Lakers roster. Let see if news will come out after that deal.

If you want to go through checking the full roster of every team you could use this.
http://www.espn.com/nba/players
It's updated as I checked every team. Only rumors are remaining but until they are not signed, the roster will still be the same. Last big rumor is Rajon Rondo agreement with the Grizzlies buyout and will most likely be signed by the Lakers but there is no news yet about the new agreement.

Yeah, that's the latest, Rondo going to Lakers and final deal is set on Monday.

And then we have Lauri Markkanen of Bulls going to the Cavs, Bulls get Derrick Jones Jr, Portland gets Nance Jr.

On the coaching side, Coach Mike Budenholzer signs 3-year extension with Milwaukee Bucks.

Quote
After leading the Milwaukee Bucks to the franchise's first NBA championship in 50 years, coach Mike Budenholzer has signed a multiyear contract extension with the team.

The deal, announced Tuesday night, is for three years, sources told ESPN.

Budenholzer -- who was entering the final year of his contract -- now ties himself to the Bucks through the 2024-25 season. His extension punctuates three seasons that include a trip to the Eastern Conference finals and the championship victory over the Phoenix Suns in July.

There's still time, and they can win a championship again. Their biggest addition was actually Westbrook, he is a superstar with the same level of James Harder, Kevin Durant, and even Kyrie Irving, so this team will be full of confidence to win every game once the season will start.

Westbrook has a very huge salary, https://hoopshype.com/player/russell-westbrook/salary/
So it's just right to expect a lot from him, he should help the king to have an easy journey in winning a championship again.

I think the lakers with +350 odds to win a championship is very enticing.
https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/championship-odds
They've taken another superstar on their team and they're expecting him to play at his best with the king.

Just as what we have seen with last year's Brooklyn, they're looking like they are today but still, it is undeniable that they still got what it takes to lead in the finals.

Also with Rondo's addition, another playmaker.

A good playmaker is what the Lakers need, if Lebron is injured, there's should be someone who should step up and lead the team. This season, it will not be hard for the Lakers even if Lebron will rest, they have Rondo and Westbrook who are good point guards and could definitely lead a team to win.

Just imagine, if Rondo and PG were able to bring the OKC to the playoffs, it's not impossible with the lakers that he has a lot of superstar around him, he got Lebron and Davis whom are consistent when it comes to contribution to the team.

Probably the injury problem is the hindrance why teams are not anymore interested in him.
Most probably, he only played 25 games last season and his average had gone down significantly if we track in https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/loveke01.html.

The team are looking for a player that is consistent, not prone to injury, so maybe after the contract, Love could be sign by other team with a minimum salary like other veterans who still got into contract now.

The Cavs said they’d buy out Kevin Love’s contract and send him to the Lakers to win another championship with LeBron James. Kevin Love basically said thanks but no thanks. Which is a little odd since he was tanking last season… Still, it looks like he’d rather lose and hurt his team then lose his $60 million dollars. Can’t say I blame him.
Update about Kevin Love.
Kevin Love has no interest in negotiating buyout with Cleveland Cavaliers, agent says

Well, they can't force him. $60m is a big deal but the Cavs want to free some space and build a team for their new young roster.
Love though will have little minutes even when paid high with the arrival of Lauri Markkanen.
He is just being wise because if he takes that buyout, there's a high chance no team will sign him or it will just be for a veteran contract.
This is the real world of the NBA when you get old or be prone to injuries, they throw you away.

Love is just 32 years old, he can still prove something for 2 more years with a clean slate of injuries and have a better contract before he retires.
I believe that he didn't agree BECAUSE he knew nobody would sign him, not guess, not fear, but he knew it. After all players talk to each other and they talk to owners and front office and many more others, it is not tampering if you are doing it regarding free agency period and right now we are in off-season so teams need to speak with players to be able to get them, you can't just make them guess it, you have to offer them something.

So, I believe that Kevin probably asked around the league, or asked his agent more likely, to get him some other team, and Lakers looked like a good alternative, Nets as well, these are teams that need players who can play, even if not amazingly at least have veteran presence and that is an important thing. So he probably got declined by the teams he want to go to and that is why he declined the buyout as well because he would be basically de-facto retired if he left cavs.

So the team that would suffer here is the Cleveland Cavaliers as Kevin Love will stay while his interest in playing is not anymore 100%. Not so big since this team is not going anywhere, I mean they'll not be in the playoffs but they'll miss the 100% Kevin Love. Probably the injury problem is the hindrance why teams are not anymore interested in him.

https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/championship-odds

It's really enticing but that's for the NBA winner. I guess it will be easier if you'll just put a bet on them to win the western conference finals and get the odds of +165. https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/basketball/usa/nba/nba-21-22-60f9572f41ddce1ac040cdfa

If the Nets will win in the East and the Lakers will be in the West, we would see good betting odds as there will be bettors that would be interested in both sides.

Honestly I can't see the Lakers winning the championship.  Looks like they are adding Rondo who is 35.  This is the oldest team I've ever seen.  This never works as far as building a team.  It's almost like they are taking anyone with a name.

Sorry man, I am just so hype with the names that the Lakers have added, they were already good last season if Davis was not injured, now they get back Rondo and Howard who are big contributors in their last championship win, and not only that, Westbrook is just so great that could anytime explode and give a problem to the opposing teams.

Quote
Lakers injury list is going to be as long as their available players by mid season.
Due to age it could possibly happen, but I'm hoping they'll be back healthy in the playoffs as that's the most important stage.

After your posts I went digging a bit more about Rondo.
The buyout agreement between Rondo and Memphis Grizzlies is now official. Nothing unexpected, as rumors of his early departure from Tennessee have been circulating for several days. The player was clearly not in the plans of the team coached by Jenkins.
He's a free agent now and able to make agreements with other teams. IMO, the Los Angeles Lakers are the closest to sign him, ready to add to their roster a former player familiar with the 2020 NBA title, in which Rondo played a key role.

He has no problem with Lebron, in fact, he is a big help for the Lakers as when Lebron is down, Rondo could always lead the PG position to still make the team competitive. I know they have Westbrook now, but in terms of basketball IQ, I still see Rondo is smarter as he played all around especially in defense.

Lebron acknowledges Rondo as one of those who really help them win his first ring with the Lakers. Perhaps it was with heavy heart that they have to let him go and several others after getting the championship and now they are bringing them back like Rondo and Howard plus others.

And it also proves that you don't dismantle your team after winning because there is no momentum in the chemistry. Just look at the Bucks, the core team is still there only a couple of names have move out, like P.J. Tucker.

There's still time, and they can win a championship again. Their biggest addition was actually Westbrook, he is a superstar with the same level of James Harder, Kevin Durant, and even Kyrie Irving, so this team will be full of confidence to win every game once the season will start.

What's up with the LA Lakers?
They brought back Howard, and now they're bringing back Rajon Rondo. Might as well, bring back McGee. This is going to be the championship reunion roster with extra twist to make it a solid line up.
I guess they have better chemistry with Rondo and Howard in the line up.
We can't trust Westbrook or Melo or the other new guys to blend in immediately with the Lakers system. So, I guess the Lakers management are looking to ease the possible scenario by bringing back these 2 guys.
They are bringing back the old team. When I say "old" yes, it's the old that you are thinking of. Veterans.  Grin Lakers management is going to use experience wise gameplay versus other teams with young players and less experience.
It might work, just like how it worked out last time they grabbed the championship. Keys for them to win it again is Anthony Davis having a healthy body and so is Lebron James. Westbrook and Melo will be their bonus if ever they can create their own offensive attacks. I think they want Rondo to equal the speed they need for the 2nd team.

Having Westbrook would already convince me that they have a higher chance of winning next season compared to the Nets. Westbrook is an all-around player, hs is Mr. triple-double and he can surely bring the game intensity with the LA Lakers if he will play the same role in his past teams.

Lebron's burden would be lesser, hence, I think he will not be frustrated as there's other players that would contribute for them to ensure a playoff spot and will be healthy in the playoffs.

And maybe we can see Lebron and AD on restricted minutes perhaps? To reserved them and not to get injured early?

So it's a good strategy for the Lakers to have this veterans are they core, offensively and defensively they are almost complete at any position specially if they add Rondo to the line up again.
