Where will you be this Christmas? The NBA has blessed us with a Nets vs Lakers Christmas Day game and I’m very happy. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing for Christmas this year, but it will likely include a couple hours in front of the TV grabbing a preview of this year’s NBA Finals matchup. I haven’t been this happy about a Christmas matchup since the old Shaq vs Kobe days.

Every year, NBA is always arranging a big match-up every Christmas Day. That alone is the reason why Lebron James also has a record of having big games during Christmas day because he's always part of it.

Instead of Phoenix Suns vs Milwaukee Bucks, NBA still chooses the popularity of the Nets and Lakers players.

Not a big issue but at least teams in the previous finals should always have a rematch during Christmas Day as it was supposed to be like the Cavaliers vs Warriors saga before.

Perhaps its because of the big hype around Lakers and the Nets, that's why the NBA decided to step aside the Bucks vs Suns match. We all know that NBA is a business, they have to push for the biggest spectacle.

At least as fans, its going to be big this Christmas day, watching the games with your families and having some fun.

Kyrie versus Lebron. The fake brothers as of Kyrie.
The difference, he has KD who had performed great at the Olympics telling us the Achilles injury is nothing to be worried about anymore and then he has Harden too. Yes, it is going to be an exciting match up.
I don't know if anyone saw this, but Lebron James was not to thrilled with the recent poll that came out that was asking who the best player in the NBA is and the only two players receiving votes were Giannis and Kevin Durant.  Lebron of course is using this a fuel to his fire for the upcoming season but I ask you guys..who is the best player in the NBA?

My personal pick would be Kevin Durant.  I think right now if I had to pick one player, he would be my go to guy.

Light the fire. Let's see if this year's Lebron James will be different than the last. Sure he is one of the best players in the league but I will also vote for KD.
That guy is a walking scoring machine.

Yeah, I love that James name are not included, maybe those who didn't vote for him thinks he is already on specially last year wherein they were ousted by the Suns in the playoffs.

I love this because James has been taking offense on this, and he said that he wants this kind of "criticism" so that it will get fuel to him and the Lakers. Because him and the Lakers received a lot of backlash when they sign old and not on their prime already players like Melo and Howard and others. And this makes him angry, so I expect a different Lebron this upcoming season.

They've been doing this for us the whole time. Giving us a good matchup on Christmas day so that maybe we can watch together with our relatives who is also a NBA Fan too.

I will be at our house on Christmas Day as always and I will watch this game. A preview of the possible NBA Finals indeed (just hope that it will not be spoiled by injuries). The Big 3 of the East Vs. The Big 3 of the West. Its August right now but I'm excited to watch this game already. I might bet on this game too Cheesy.
Yeah, the Lakers vs the Nets match definitely should be interesting, although it's too early to make assumptions about who will be able to win this game. By the way, it's funny that the Lakers have been playing every year on Christmas Day, and it looks like this year they will play on the home court again.

I'd definitely agree with you on that, Durant showed how great he is last season, he is probably in his prime now and Lebron can't beat his team if they are playing healthy. The reason why they are the favorite to win the Championship next season and the Lakers are just behind them.

Lebron is an all-around player, but lately, it's Durant's impact on the floor that is more appealing to me.

This is also my personal opinion, we have a different opinions because we are biased since we vote based on our emotions.

Besides, this signing bonus can treat as an investment he can just keep it as Bitcoin and who knows if how many folds he might gained
after some years of keeping it safe from his wallet.

The value will certainly rise in the long run because we will be seeing a real adoption that less manipulation would only be happening, for now, market volatility is still high but as people get more matured about crypto, they would not easily panic and we will see more payment usage of crypto. NBA players do not need to spend their bitcoin as they are making good money from the sports, this signing bonus he received could be his retirement fund if he holds it long enough.

The new Z generation is doing this in bunches, they do not see any problem with crypto, elder generation feels a bit insecure about it because they are not sure what is going to happen with it and that is understandable because they lived 50+ years without crypto at all and they are not sure if they trust it or not.

However the reality is that these kids who are 18-19 year olds have seen bitcoin existed during half of their lives, they were 8-9 years old when bitcoin was created, and it grew so much larger when they were teenagers as well, when they were 15 or so bitcoin had a super increase, and when they were 17-18 years old it had another super increase this year as well. So they have seen it during their young lives. Plus Dinwiddie from Nets turned his salary into bitcoin once as well, so not like this is the first time it happened neither.

And that they also know how cash app works and how PayPal accepts Bitcoin. Those are the facts that these young generations know well that crypto exists and they've got lots of opportunities to maximize it.

With how those crypto gambling sites sponsoring other sports venues, the acceptance of this industry is better now.

Besides, this signing bonus can treat as an investment he can just keep it as Bitcoin and who knows if how many folds he might gained

Anybody talking about how Cade Cunningham the NBA’s #1 draft pick is getting paid his signing bonus 100% in Bitcoin through a partnership with BlockFi? That’s nuts… I can’t believe that this sort of thing is becoming normalized in professional sports. I hope he makes a ton of cash and becomes a major ally in crypto. Certainly others will be following in his footsteps.
This is truly incredible. A few years ago we used to talk about whether such news about bitcoin could be true. We are living it now.
It's nice to see things like getting a salary, making contracts, paying with bitcoin.
With this deal, he will have earned much more money than many players in the NBA Cheesy

Sauce please! I think that's what we call "NBAdoption" from cryptocurrencies. Worth to note this young rookie as he's making history from here on out. This is just the beginning of more adoption of other players and even just recently Houston Rockets was in partnership with Chiliz (I just don't know if it was shared right here but it was a huge stepping stone too). Here's the announcement if ever it doesn't crossed in this thread: https://medium.com/chiliz/rockets-announce-partnership-with-socios-com-884ecfe9b987
Love the sound of it. NBAdoption. Nice. Yeah, we should put a big open and close quotation on that. "A rookie trying to be paid in a different option."
Not all have that kind of guts to put their money at risk. He must have done his homework on how bitcoin works and I hope it's not just because of the volatility.
If more players will keep on doing the same thing since they are paid in high amount of dollars, this could be a new target on where bitcoin will be good at.
Million of dollars contracts, basketball or even at NFL.
Well, thanks for that compliment. It looks like the guy was not just into basketball but he's into making money or marketing himself. From this source, he's not just into shoe deals but there are lot of things he wants to get involved and I think the deal with him and BlockFi is surely a win-win scenario and BlockFi would only get some traffic here.

I think we all do love this rookie even right now, I'm projecting this is kind of wise move of him, he's got an IQ on and off the court.

It's going to be interesting seeing Golden State playing this year having everyone back and healthy.  I at least hope that Klay is back and healthy, not having him on the team is such a bummer, of course not just for the Golden State Warriors but for NBA fans.  Him and Curry are such unbelievable shooters, it's just so fun watching them do there thing night in and night out ( even if I can't stand Curry and his cockiness, he's amazing).

I am curious how it will go this year for them.  The league has had some time to adjust to the new shooter's paradise NBA and the Warriors have lost a lot of main pieces while Draymond is very much on the downhill slide of his career.  I'm sure they'll come back strong and be a lock for the playoffs, but I don't see them as a contender.  Wiseman would have to develop very quickly in order for that to happen.  I suspect we'll see some trading or free agent signing before the season starts for them, but I'd be surprised if they get further than the second round of the playoffs this coming year.  No matter what though, it'll be great to see the splash brothers back together again.

This is exactly what I am really interested in seeing.  I'm not sure there is even any debate at all that these two guys are the best shooting tandem to ever play in the NBA and it's hard to imagine there ever being a better one.  That being said, they don't seem to have much talent size wise outside of Draymond Green and like you said he's getting older.

Yeah this is very cool.  This kind of exposure for bitcoin is surely only going to help with it's mass adoption.  They also have a deal with Trevor Lawrence.  I'm not sure if he did the exact same thing with his bonus but I believe it's something similar.  Crazy stuff!

They'll earn big money if bitcoin will pump and they will cash out, however, I think they will not go all in, just like a typical investor, learning how to manage the risk is very important and we can't considering holding bitcoin as a way of saving money, if I'm a player, I would go for 70/30, 70% fiat and 30% in bitcoin considered for long term hold.

I think young NBA players are wise now, as to compare to like 5-10 years ago wherein rookie or even experience NBA players lost their money because they don't know how and where to invest their millions when they are beginning their career. So perhaps they have now investment advisor to help them out specially with regards to holding bitcoin and the risk involved.

No news yet on Ben Simmons isn't it?

It's not that the Hornets see is worth more than they have to overpay players to draw interest.
It's not the talent but what he could represent. Damn what an unfortunate way to get a good pay hehehe.

I barely remember him but wasn't he the player the Heat bought just so they can convince Lebron to re-sign?

Pretty sure that bitcoin is already a buzz word in the NBA so I'm not going to be surprised by Cunnigham's decision to be paid his signing bonus with bitcoin. Yes, this could be the norm on any professional athletes moving forward.
