I have to say the league looks wide open for anyone to win this year. I know we said the same thing last year but east being shocked by miami (which was in fact "open for anyone" means) and lakers just dominating everyone while clippers being the most favorite team to play against lakers getting their ticket home by denver really shocked the world.
People think that every team feels same in power means only the big teams like lakers, clippers, bucks or so has a chance to win, I mean it is literally any team. I could see 8th seed in any conference to go to finals, it is 16 teams to win the ring and it was like that last year, lakers managed to hold their horses whereas all the other big teams lost, so lakers got an "easy" win. This year it feels the same, I don't know if big teams will be awesome but I think every team has a chance to actually contend again.
I disagree. I think it became obvious last year the Clippers have no chance without an upgrade to their front line, and then they lost their backup center and reigning 6th man of the year. The Bucks also don't have what it takes to win in the playoffs. Giannis is a monster, but come playoff time he is easily contained and lacks the support for his team to play at that high of a level.
It seems clear from the moves the Nets are making that they will be the winners of the East. It will take them some time to get in rhythm and they still need to finish off the trade or buyout of big men from Cleveland, but I think they'll get it together by the end of the season. Other than the years past where it was obvious that Golden State would win it all, at least we have 2 teams now that can compete, and while it is again LeBron vs (insert superteam here) I think it's far from "wide open for anyone to win." I would feel real safe betting on LA vs BK in the finals. I think only an injury has the potential to change that outcome.
