How about the Clippers leading by 20 points early but then lost to the Wolves at Crypto arena? They started how in the first half, rushing and leading as high as 20 points. But the Wolves didn't give up, ANT started to cook in the 3rd quarter. And him and the veteran Mike Conley and Alexander-Walker are hitting their 3 point shot. On the other hand, the Clippers are struggling and because of their great defense. There were moments wherein Paul George getting one on one against ANT but the young fellow has good defense and stole the ball from George. So it's almost a 20 point swing in this game as the Wolves won by 18 points.

That's just one of the great performance of the Timberwolves and the reason why they are on the top seed right now. We've seen a lot of crazy comebacks from a lot of different teams most frequently this season, this is just an indication that there are actually no leads are safe until the game concluded. Just most recently Dean Wade made a crazy fourth quarter to come back from a 20+ pts deficit in the 4th and win the game. That was just a few games after LeBron took over the 4th quarter to beat the Clippers in another comeback win.
These are all because the game of basketball today are more fast paced and everyone can shoot 3s more efficiently than before. A 20+ pts lead even in the 4th quarter isn't really safe nowadays. It will only take 1 player in the zone and extra effort on the defensive end can make a comeback win.

It was the defense that really helps the Wolves to outrun the Clippers, like what you mentioned, even a double digit lead in the final quarter ain't safe anymore, as players can hit high percentage shots and play good defense to turned the tempo of the game and snatch the win, another monster performances of ANT but I think what I love is seeing how the coach blends players inside and how they are doing their respective roles in helping each other, even how good ANT might be without the help of everyone he won't be able to single carried the team and win the game.

They are performing and the way they are forcing the defense that's  something that will help them to reach the playoffs and hopefully with KAT recover back they might have a good shot to move forward.

Too early for that though, just need to be consistent and keep the competitiveness to  win more games during the regular season.

Yeah, Vince did that in the Olympics,

It's been almost 24 years since then, but it's still one of the most epic dunks in the history of basketball. I'm not sure if there's a single player in the NBA right now who could do that in a regular game.

And so I guess Wemby will continue to after players and will attempt to block no matter who is in front of him.
Maybe) I think Victor should gain muscle mass, then it will be very difficult for any NBA player to posterize him.

Is it just in my imagination or have big comebacks become normal lately?
Recently I really saw a lot of them. Sometimes a team is winning the 1st quarter by like 20 something points and then totally collapse in the rest of the game.
Or a team is going into the forth by 16-20 something points just to get ousted something like 42:16 in the last quarter.
Is the the increased shooting of the 3, or is the game faster recently?
Maybe it's also that players "basketball IQ" has become worse. I mean if you milk the clock a lot it's impossible to lose 20 point leads in like 6 minutes. Just recently we saw exactly that with the Clippers vs the Lakers. Leading by 22 with 11min to go and a tie game with like 4 or 5min left. It's crazy!
Mostly bad defense when they have the big lead. They celebrate way too early not thinking about their opponent taking advantage of that lack of defense and the pressure they can bring to come back to the game.
That's what happened with the Raptors, they were pressed by the Nuggets and they made sure those stops would be worth it by using either Jokic or Murray in offense. Heck, Jokic even got a block and that's not normal. Grin

But I saw some coaches too that won't let their stars rest whenever they are on the big lead. They make it sure first using whatever calculation they have before they sit them down on a blowout game.

It's because Kawhi  Leonard went out after the first quarter and the camera saw him leaving the arena in streetwear. It's either he will go to the hospital or something came up that he cannot miss. Maybe we will hear the reports later.
I realized that when I saw my props for Kawhi not moving anymore, he didn't enter the whole 2nd quarter and that's when they looked for him. I think it was Reggie Miller who first realized that he ain't playing anymore.
Clippers could've won this one if they have him back.
Yes, Kawhi went down, but they have built a solid 20 point lead though and in my opinion, it evens out everything out as Towns is not playing with the Wolves. And yet it looks like they choke in the 3rd quarter and they have wave the white flag early. And it's only 3 players who defeated them and they can't stop either of the 3. Harden 30+ minutes with only 12 points? So not sure what happen to the Clippers here, it's a winnable game for them that can put a good separation against the 5th seed Pelican. Maybe they think that they are safe in the playoff. But that is a bad mentality in the beginning.

I was out for a couple of days, didn't watch any game, but when I look at the final score and see this in social media?

Damn, TJD is really specially, another great catch by the Warriors and the more that they give him time, the more he is getting better. But we should give credit to Wemby as well, he is not afraid to be posterized. He will go and chase for that block whoever it is. Warriors needed this big win, to stay close with the Lakers at 10th position and at least a play-in chance.
He was posterized few times but this guy is leading in blocks and making history. Although people loved that but Wemby is still has to be respected with his achievement. I think even great players are also posterized, don't know but I think Lebron and has been posterized too once in his life, even AD I guess.

Anyway, the Warriors won this game and they were able to avenge their loss, now their ranking is at solid number 10, but I don't want them to end in 10, maybe improve a bit so their chance in the playoffs will increase.
That is exactly what makes things so entertaining when he gets posterized as well. I mean if you posterize someone like lets say Kevin Love, specially at this age, when he literally has grays in his hair, and was never a great blocker or anything, then would that made any news? Of course not, that's normal and you could posterize him and just move on, that would be just an ordinary possession and nobody would even think about it twice.

But, if you posterize a 7'5 centre who has been leading the league in blocking at his rookie season, which is something I can't think when was the last time a rookie did that, then it is a lot better for the views, it only makes the news when you posterize someone like that. That's actually good for Wemby, shows that he is actually not thought as someone who can be posterized, so people make it a news when it happens.

Posterizing big guys has always been popular in the NBA.  Mosgov was a favorite recently among players like Blake Griffin, but going back further I remember people always wanting to get the best of Shawn Bradley too.  Whenever we talk about posterizing big guys though, we can't let the conversation end without talking about what Vince Carter did in the Olympics.  Him jumping over that 7 footer to dunk is in my opinion the greatest in game dunk that the sport of basketball has ever seen.  Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Don't forget about Yao Ming as well, Kobe, TMac and Vince Carter are some that got the best of Yao during their primes. But it didn't stop Yao from chasing those block and now he is the Basketball Hall of fame. So it's like a medal for this high flyers to dunk over 7'0 player and dunk.

Yeah, Vince did that in the Olympics,

And so I guess Wemby will continue to after players and will attempt to block no matter who is in front of him.

22-point comeback. What a game in Ball Arena.

Toronto Raptors had the big lead but in the third quarter, the Denver Nuggets found their spark through their superstar duo Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.
Jamal showed the bag of tricks that he had been keeping. You name it, threading assists to Nnaji, scoop layups, and more. The commentators said he got angry and that's the result of his anger. Grin
Nikola Jokic on the other hand already claimed his triple-double in the early stage of the 3rd quarter and he ended with 35 points, 17 rebounds, 12 assists, and 6 important steals that helped swing the game to their favor. The crowd was energized thanks to those defensive stops. That is the Nuggets that I know, never giving up, and defense was also filled with energy.

Is it just in my imagination or have big comebacks become normal lately?

You're asking too many questions and making things more complicated than what it really is. There are times when players take their foot off the pedal or relax a bit since they were tired after making some runs. They turn cold as a result but that is also the same time when the other teams starts getting hot and keeps making shots. The momentum suddenly shifts. It happens in a lot of sports.

Nowadays, even major injuries are possible to be cured, I guess it's something that science can be work out though depending to how a person will help and how dedicated he can be to bring the form back, or if not as healtier like before but something that can be work to complete his comeback, I like the possibility that Sengun manages towork on his health and play back, hopefully he can again survive and comeback more stronger.

Injuries is something that everyone can't avoid in terms of accident but maintenaing proper workout and diet might save them to prevent from suffering which they can't take and will end their careers.

Let's wait for the next update I like how this young big guy is bringing to his team, they are now being watch and support by their fans, a chance of bringing the old glory might happened when all the missing pieces start to fill up.

Yes this's true. Nowadays, the technologies and research in the area of health have evolved a lot, but unfortunately, when a serious injury occurs, the injured part of the body rarely recovers 100% as it was before. Therefore, in addition to diet and exercise, it is important to always carry out strengthening exercises to prevent these types of injuries.

Anyway, I'm a Warriors fan, and to see Trayce Jackson-Davis posterizing Victor Wembanyama is just insane. I watched it multiple times and had the same reaction all the time. This kid will be the future of the Warriors, and will keep him for sure. The announcers are in a savage mode on this one. "he put the entire country of France in a basket"? WTF!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Here's the video anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jDegrDZ4og
That was something surreal, and I was watching the game and it was impressive. After all, I was also surprised by the start of the game, as I wouldn't have imagined that the Spurs would have such a spectacular performance at the start of that game, but the Warriors managed to win the game... and without Curry

It's going to be very difficult for the Warriors, yes they avenge their losses to the Spurs and Wemby being posterized again, but they need to get string of wins to moved out of their 10th spot. They have to get over the Lakers and the Mavs and the Sacramento Kings. And without Curry, (not sure when he will be back in uniform), it will be a hard task unless Klay become the prime version of himself again and Kuminga averaging 25 points or more.

They will be facing the Mavs next, so it will be a great battle for this two but it will be the Warriors who will be needing this one.

Luka's number is great, putting up statistical numbers that we haven't seen for a while and making records after records.

It's true, it was jus like watching AD in the bubble wherein he was healthy and they won the championship that time. And as long as both are healthy, although they are still way below the standing for a playoff berth, I think they can still make it in the play-in. The Warriors are in a struggle since Curry had injury, although they won, the Lakers is up 2 games against the Warriors. And as we have pointed out, gonna be close for the last 4 teams, from 7th-10th place in the Western conference. Just 4 games difference between the Warriors and the Suns (6th place).

There will be lots of changes in the rank in the upcoming days, especially with the top 6th-10th place since right now, they are playing well and not giving any chance to others to get an easy win from them also we all know especially the Lakers, they wanted to regain back their chance that the Nuggets stole from them last year when they lost against them in 4 straight games. They need to exert all effort to take another chance to get to the NBA finals no matter what happens and they need to bet it all right here this season.

They were struggling to inmprove their ranking from rank number 10. But since there are still plenty of games left, that is not final yet and they still have a chance to rise in standing. As long as the Warriors are going to hold on even without Curry still not playing, they will not slide down in ranking.  Also, them winning games will help Curry to to have more time o recover from his injury as he will not be force to return prematurely.

Big win for the Lakers earlier. Although it is given without Rudy Gobert and KAT for the Timberwolves. Antman cannot just shoulder everything and it's more difficult because he is battling against the Lakers who had been playing strong in their last few games.

Anthony Davis almost caught the 5x5 just like Wemby.
27 points, 25 big rebounds both defensive and offensive, 5 assists, 7 steals, and 3 blocks. He is 2 blocks shy of getting the 5x5. Still, a strong display of his dominant game under the rim. Those 25 rebounds were all incredible and most of his points came from an offensive rebound and then a putback to the rim.
This is the Davis that I want to watch every Lakers game. This is also the Davis that I saw during the bubble but back then he was consistent unlike now.
That win put the Lakers in the 9th spot of the West. They need more wins if they want to steal the next spot up from the Dallas Mavericks.

I agree it was an amazing performance by Anthony Davis. The outcome of this game is a prime example of how strong the Lakers can be when Davis and LeBron are healthy. I think it's obvious that if the Lakers continue at this pace, they could have a good chance at both the play-in tournament and the playoffs.

This was a topic that I would comment on here too. Anyway, I hope Alperen Şengün recovers and that it's nothing serious. What made me worried and sad about this situation is that there was less than 1 minute left before the game ended and Şengün was seriously injured.

Is there any update on his injury yet? Maybe he had an ACL injury or something similar?
Based on Woj's tweet: LINK
Quote
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun has escaped major injury on his lower right leg, suffering a severely sprained ankle and a bone bruise on his knee. Sengun’s been one of breakout stars in the league this year, averaging 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists.
That's a big relief for the Rockets because their main big escaped that major injury. They are still 5 games behind the Warriors currently, but their chances of getting that 10th spot would be much lower if Sengun were injured for the rest of the season. He has been one of the go-to guys of the Rockets for this regular season. The question now is, how long will he be out because of that injury? Or will he be out for a short time because of that?
