Jeremy Lin is an american you know that right? I mean sure he has a chinese background but almost everyone in USA has a background if you go back enough, Jeremy Lin was however born in California, so he was never really fully chinese, it was only his ethnicity and not his real identity. Plus even his ethnicity is Taiwan and not China precisely no matter how you see that situation. So we can say it makes sense a California born, harvard studied, millionaire person to help out americans during a period like this.

However since he is making is money from China and he has some historical connection there, he probably wanted to help out in China as well, which is a nice gesture if you ask me, anytime anyone donates money I feel like thats such an awesome thing to do since they didn't had to do that at all but saw the human suffery and wanted to be part of the recovery or at least have some sort of help at least.
A help from compassionate people brings hope to those people who are affected of this virus, whatever raised Lin was, his intentions to help out and reach those people who are in need right now is more important. I salute him for showing his kindness, those amounts of money will be able to provide even the basic needs of many people. Good job and hope to see more news like this.

...then maybe we can also expect from those who area really making $100 million contract like Lebron, Durant, Harden, WB, and Leonard, etc.

Even some aren't on the news, I doubt these players didn't lend a hand yet. Impossible for me to think that they just literally stay at home after the NBA suspension and do nothing. No need actually to have a media to show they already donate.

Some of your mentioned players do have their own foundation aside from the other foundation and charities they are supporting too. They are known for giving a hand to others even prior to this pandemic virus that hits the whole world.

And I think he also donated too in China. No way he will leave them behind even China isn't his nation by legal papers.

Yes, he did.

Lin still cares for America though he is not an NBA player anymore, I can still remember those rumors that he was not resign because he is an Asian, but this guy has great heart. At the headline, I thought he will donate in china because he is currently in china now, but he did donate to the americans.

I don't see a connection of Lin still cares for America even he is not an NBA anymore.

Even no teams from the NBA signed him, I think it's unfair for the whole USA community to received the disappointment he gets from the NBA.

And thanks for his donation. It's big money. Even $ or whatever fiat currency really counts. And I think he also donated too in China. No way he will leave them behind even China isn't his nation by legal papers.

We can feel that because we are Asians, and once there's an Asian in the NBA, that makes us proud.
But Lin donating this big money while he is not anymore making big money unlike his contract with the NBA when he was still popular, then maybe we can also expect from those who area really making $100 million contract like Lebron, Durant, Harden, WB, and Leonard, etc.

I understand Lin helping out the USA, because they are heavily affected by the pandemic and they suddenly turned to be like the epicenter of the virus. America has been a huge part of Lin's life and career, though he's out from the NBA now, but him being too good like most Asians are, just want to extend whatever help he can to help one of his home that molds who he is today.
On the other hand this superstars you have mentioned surely helped, but not everything was published in the social media.

Was watching an american nightly news broadcast last night and they were showing the numbers of how much the nba league are and will be donating to charities and hospitals to deal with the covid pandemic. From what I remember it was in the $500mln and another $700mln mark so far.
They certainly have the money to put these numbers up since the salaries of these players are around this much for just a team per season. Embarrassed
Their players are even holding events such as virtual horse and I believe are donating money the money their followers tip to them during these livefeeds to show they are doing their part during this lockdown.

Oh thank goodness.

Well, they may have made the deal with the players about the salary cut. I have no idea but there is a chance the agreement might be because it will be put into good deed.

If that is the case then I bet NBA players will agree with it since this is already a worldwide hellish experience.
We all want to be safe but if the number of infected people is not going down then how could we make this world a better place again without knowing who can infect us.
We cannot even get out for too long.
As much as possible every penny, dime or a dollar will count. Even with any currency.

I'm glad that they are now focus on helping now instead of thinking their personal agenda, this really tells that the "NBA CARES" is real.

More so in poor countries, so we really need to offer our help, big or small, it matters a lot to the people who are in need.

Lin wrote in a piece for The Players' Tribune that he'll contribute $500,000 to the Direct Relief and Feeding America organizations, and he'll match up to $500,000 of additional donations.

Yeah, that was makes me amazed to him. I remembered the days he talks about hitting his rock bottom after he leave the NBA. Man that feels so bad and embarrassing as he's tears falling apart as well.

These are just a small penny from 'em the league can earned in a couple of games. What really amaze me here is their initiative to do it so, well, doesn't surprised me that big since their players are all willingly to donate their salary so what's more to expect with the league, right? On the other hand, makes me feel sad at the same time for companies who have guts on turning back on their employees in this time of crisis.

She wasn't that old neither, she was only 59 years old and I know that corona could kill anyone, even the young people but you would expect someone who gave birth to an NBA superstar have a better metabolism to fight this off at such a young age for the virus. It is an upsetting thing to learn that she passed away but do not let her passing away be just a story that news websites get a click for and make money.

Make her death worth something by realizing there is no age or no body that virus can't kill if it is persistent enough. We should all be careful, no matter what our age is, no matter how healthy we thing we are, no matter what type of person we are, just be careful, this could take anyone and virus doesn't discriminate, it tries to kill anyone it contacts with.

Sad to hear Town's mother contracting Coronavirus . She was really battling against for long time. I think it was second week of March when the news of KAT's mother infected from Coronavirus came up.

My condolences to KAT and his family.

Very unexpected.

This virus is choosing no age, it's attacking everyone that's infected.

People who are still young and have good immune are fighting the virus but still going through difficulty. I've read one of the football player describing a stage where he had difficulty breathing.

I can't imagine how much difficulty people who are old are going through.

This will make everyone to look into the situation as critical.

Hoping for KAT's family comfort at these moments.

This is unexpected but we know old victims has a high chance of dying and we know KAT could do everything as he is capable financially, but this virus is really strong, it kills people with weak immune system, it's sad to hear the news but life has to goes on as the virus is still alive, we need to fight it.

Indeed, since even you have money to pay for the doctors and hospital the virus once already triggered inside you the chance of surviving is slim. Prayers for KAT's family, hope they'll find comfort from this sad news.
To Everyone, it's really best to take this pandemic virus seriously and if it's possible not to go out if there's nothing important staying at home will lessen the chance of getting this virus.

I think that is not a rumor, they are really back to normal, but as to the cure, they haven't said anything, what they only did is they order their people to stay under quarantine so the virus spread will be stop, and that really work well on them, but we don't know what's behind the scene.

Is that so. Fingers crossed.

China should be publicly announced how they contained the virus not to spread rapidly before that kind of story happend. I don't know what's freaking happening there, but the number of cases there is stop increasing and rumors saying is that they're back to normal.

That thing you said is just the same to the movie called "The Flu" that I recently watched. I recommend it. Cheesy

I was really pulling for her. After that I posted it here or read about the incident.

What's most heartbreaking is she died more likely not having anyone on her side, man.

Fuck corona virus.
Yeah, that is the freaking bad side about it.
Recently, someone talked to me about that.

What if a kid had it?
The kid will be forced to stay alone in a quarantine room with nobody around. No Mom or Dad in his side to tell everything will be alright.
It breaks my heart. I won't freaking leave my kid alone in some hospital room.
Just the thought of my kid being scared alone will kill me already from heart attack.

Afterwards, they are going to burn it like nothing happened. Freaking virus.
This became a shitty year for everything.

Oh God. This is a sad news. Well, I hope KAT is okay and also his family.

Remember guys, whoever is infected by this virus. Be positive as always and think like it is just another flu.
That is how I see doctors taking care of their patients. Hydrate yourselves as always, lemon with honey is also better.

No one would really be on your side when you do have this kind of virus.I cant even imagine myself into that particular situation if one of your members would be isolated alone and no one of his loved ones beside him/her.
Just take a look on what happened on Italy where bodies of dead people are just being buried directly or even cremated alone. This is indeed the most shitiest year for all of us.
We can withstand any calamities and other similar problems but this one? Its slowly killing us,as long the vaccine isnt available yet. Feeling sad for KAT and sorry for the loss.. Stay safe everyone.
