We can see the real tight competition above.

I bet Pelicans would advance.

I heard one analyst talk about the Pelicans. They are in a fast pace after Zion came back.
Yeah, and there is a lot of chance they could really make it to the playoffs.
We will just don't see it yet.
There are still a lot of games and there is rough road that will come.
They need the win against the Cavs and then the Lakers again. Prove something. They need to be worthy for that playoffs 8th spot.

I doubt they'll win against the cavaliers, suddenly the cavs have become a better team... they just beat the Sixers and I think they'll be able to compete with the pelicans.

Personally, I also believe that Pelicans has a decent chance to get that last stop, they are winning now most of their games now, while teams like Blazers and Memphis are suddenly losing games.
This is also why I bet on high odds for the lower seeds.  Grin Sadly, I never got the chance to bet for the Cavs.
It was the sprain shoulder from Embiid which is why the Cavs won that game.
He just played 8 minutes of the game and then need to exit from the game.

This is a good read.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/joel-embiid-suffers-sprained-shoulder-and-it-feels-like-this-whole-76ers-experiment-is-teetering-on-the-edge/

Yeah, Elton Brand is trying something else and it is not working. He might be kicked when all of this goes south.
I'd rather let the last roster stay when they fought Raptors or before that.
It was a dream of a good pointguard. (I think we have talked about here just a few days back)
Filled with 3 point shooters. Reddick, Saric, Covington, Belinelli. Those names and a lot more was given up for what?
Take Butler out, that is okay for me. But put more shooters in exchange for him.
Now 2 stars are out, how much mess will it be?

I don't know if there were online betting websites that offers bet for that.
But I suggest you to make a thread and post available bets and let other users bet against you accordingly. Just use some escrow to hold the money bet.
That actually sounds fun, but I don't have enough time to monitor games in the NBA, thus making me hesitant on placing bets.
There are more than 20+ games left , if pelicans can win 80% of their games, they'll surely secure a spot in the playoffs.

Before betting on such a thing, it is not a bad idea to check the schedule of the teams fighitning for that 8th spot. I narrowed it down to 3 teams that i believe have highest chances to end in the playoff: Pelicans, Blazers and Grizzlies. Spurs are 4 games behind Grizzlies, and as much as i would like to see them in the playoff, i doubt that that will happen this year. By the look of the schedule, Pelicans actually have decent chance of getting into playoffs, but more about that later in the post.
So I took a few screenshots and and here is their schedule until end of regular season:

                                                                            Pelicans                                   Blazers                                          Grizzlies

Pelicans::By the looks of it, they don't have the easiest schedule, but still plenty of games against teams they can beat. Especially considering the fact that they are not the same team with and without Zion. Since he joined them, they are 8-5, and that;s much higher win percentage  compared to the part of the season he missed. Another  important thing is that they will have 2 games against direct opponent, Grizzlies, that might be the key.

Grizzlies: If you check the current standing, they look like having a slight advantage over other 2 teams, but when you check their opponents until end of the regular season, situation doesn't look so good anymore. They probably have the toughest schedule, having to play 2x against both Pelicans and Blazers. On top of that, they will have some tough stretches, like the one between March 20th and March 31st. In that period they have to play 2 games against Pelicans, Celtics, Bucks and 2x against Raptors.

Blazers: They might have the easiest schedule among these 3 teams, but their recent form ain't best, 1 win and 4 losses. No tough stretches though, plenty of weak teams that don't have any chance for playoff, and 2x games against Memphis. A lot will depend on when Lillard comes back.

Thoughts on the schedule, which team has the easiest and which team the toughest one?

Others will leave but the original big 3 will stay, when Curry, Thompson, and Green plays together, they can beat any team in the NBA, warriors just needs to keep these 3, give them the best amount of salary and Warriors will once again a championship contender team as long as they are healthy.
It is good to hear but that is the main problem of this team.
Once 1 of the splash brothers is out the offense is getting worse.
Roleplayers is also needed. I mean, look at Lakers, they have stacks of roleplayers just sitting on the bench.  Grin

We can't call it worse, maybe they are not as good when both Klay and Curry are playing but they have proven they can compete with Curry.
Warriors have improve because of the splash brothers, they are not a one man team as they don't have what we called a superstar that could carry his team alone, like Kobe, Lebron, and Jordan, Warriors are different as they are playing a real team effort.

They are very close, actually how about we make this betting for real?

Is there any site that offers and odds on which team on the picture about would get in the top 8 spot by the end of the regular season?

More bad luck for Philadelphia 76s after Simmons injury the other day- Embiid got injured last night(sprained shoulder) in the loss against Cavaliers, and it is uncertian until when he will be out. &6s are currently 5th in the East, but they can't slide down more than 1 spot, even if Embiid and Simmons miss some games since Nets and Magic are quite a few games behind them.

In the other news, Utah Jazz continues to be extremely streaky. Just before All Star break they had 4 wins in a row, and now after the break they are playing really bad, last night they had their 4th consecutive loss, this time against Celtics. Next game is against Wizards, that might be right opponentn for them at the moment to end this loosing streak, but I wouldn't put my money on them.

If zion has the career most people expect, than it will be one of those games they replay as one older great versus a new up and coming great.  Zion definately looks good to this point.  He is already dominating the court at times and he really hasn't even gotten his feet wet yet.  Would love to see them make the playoffs just for the fun of it.

I don't know if you all know this site but gotta share it here.

They have these predictions and if you will be looking at it, there is a 60% chance of Pelicans to go to the Playoffs but less than 1% of winning the NBA Finals. I don't know anything about this but do you agree? PS. I do not own or advertise this site, I just saw it while browsing Zion and Lebron's game.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-nba-predictions/pelicans/

60% chance to make the playoffs...I think that is too high, and they should be less than 100-1 or 1%, I'm thinking 250-1 to win the chip.  They need about 2 years to really start competing.  They have a decent core now.  Now they have to build on that and add people like miami added ray allen, those type of role players that can put you over the top to win it.  Zion is good but way too young to lead them down a treacherous western part of the playoffs.

As long as there is a chance, I would not loss my faith on the Pelicans to reach in the playoffs this season.
Thy are young and they are hungry of course they can do this if they will just trust Zion even if he is only 19 years old.

We can see the real tight competition above.

I bet Pelicans would advance.

I am not sure what is the rank of the Sixers in terms of 3 point shooting as a team, but I believe they are not in the top 10 as their offense is more focus on  the inside, if they only have Reddick, they could have been a big threat in the outside but Horford would not land to the sixers, it's really hard to choose but I believe they prefer to have this kind of play right now, besides they are doing pretty well at home.
I am not sure also but I doubt they will be at the top 10 of that list. Maybe somewhere between 15-20th rank.
The numbers of threes they shoot ain't that high, their plays are more on inside and perimeter shots. Mostly, Embiid plays.
It works so they stick with it.

Zion is a special player according to Lebron James.

LeBron James details why Zion Williamson is perfect for today’s NBA game

Quote
“The kid is special,” LeBron told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “In today’s game, where it’s a track race, it’s fast-paced, it’s high tempo, it fits his game perfectly. And the way they did play, it fits his game perfectly.”

I am so hyped by this matchup not because I want to support the other but because I want to watch how one of the greatest player play against a rising star of NBA and how would they react to one another since Lebron said that he never met Zion in the past. I also read this article and for me this is amazing. This game does prove that Zion has a long way to go, but I hope that he could live with the hype since a lot of first picks did not really live to the hype as a first pick.

But I will agree with you with trading draymond since this year he has been unmasked since he can't contribute well without steph and klay on the court maybe the warriors should think about that while draymond still got a trade value.
Trading Draymond is a bad idea, we can't evaluate the performance of the Warriors now because there's no Curry and No Thompson.
When curry was still playing this season, Draymond was very effective, and he has been part of the many success the Warriors have experience, don't worry, Warriors will be back next season.
It would be much better if other player would be traded off rather than Draymond.I agree and we have seen on how this player performs on inside paint when it comes to defense
and also capable on scoring. Theres no chance for them to get in into the playoffs and i heard of that Curry would be back into the court. This might not be the season for
them but lets see if they can make a comeback on next season.

There are rumors that he will comeback this season but he doesn't need to do that he needs to sit out the whole season to fully recover, their team doesn't need to prove anything since provably they cannot take the playoff spot this year.

And also I don't know which player got more valuable piece to get a high caliber player and although draymond is really helpful in the organization still they need to revamp their rooster to get a better rooster on next season.

Draymond has been very vital on the Warriors success, remember before during the NBA finals that when he was suspended one game against the Cavaliers and that is the big reason why the Cavaliers came back and win that championship, if Draymond was there, Warriors will certainly win that game.

I still do not understand why people think Ben Simmons is a start that makes so much difference to that team. Dude is a 16 point player with ZERO three point talent and just scores around the rim all the time, he has some rebounding and assist talents which I can understand why makes him more valuable but this dude was compared to Giannis when he first came into the league and was wondering which one would be the next Lebron.

Giannis now has an MVP and leading the first seed as the best player whereas Simmons is not even the best player on his own team. Even if the dude misses the whole season I am sure Sixers would be fine, not saying they will go to finals or anything without him but they can achieve almost everything they could have achieved with him now, he is not THAT big of a deal if you ask me.

They would not be fine, he runs the team.  If you look at Chris Paul's stats you wouldn't think much of him (I'm not comparing the 2) but stats arent everything.  Simmons is a key piece to this teams success.  Would be nice if he could drop a 3 every now and again (its laughable at this point) but he has the keys to the offense.

I know warriors won a lot of rings with the original trio and I know it would probably be the worst look for any franchise in the history of NBA, but if we are looking at things as "business" I would probably try to trade Draymond Green if I was warriors. Dude used to be amazing and he was a dpoy type of player and he was the main piece that allowed warriors to be a small ball line up etc etc. However he got worse and worse every single year, nowadays I really think he is not needed to be champions. They now have curry - klay - Wiggins which could be better trio or worse I wouldn't know, they could send Wiggins and get another player, but if they could land a top pick for Draymond they should seriously consider that option. Dude is aging and getting fatter again and he can't shoot threes anymore for some reason and his defense is not at its old level so getting anything for him now would be ideal time, if they wait a bit more he will just be a veteran who gets paid a ton of money for what did once upon a time and not getting paid for what he brings to the table at that time.

Like I said that would be a franchise killer and would be a horrible look for warriors and %100 they are not doing it, but if they did they would potentially become a lot better as a team with a player who is actually good. Wiseman for draymond would be an ideal trade for them that would make them a lot better for example.

The only problem what I see for the warriors is they don't have a legitimate center that can dominate inside the court and they miss to have Drummond for the past trade and got Wiggins which we know for his softness although this year his gameplay rise up but let see if he could be a perfect fit when klay and steph will get back in court since for sure his minutes will lessen.

But I will agree with you with trading draymond since this year he has been unmasked since he can't contribute well without steph and klay on the court maybe the warriors should think about that while draymond still got a trade value.
