Now, Melo has the opportunity to silence all existing criticism. If he proves successful in Portland, then he can extend his career even longer. I'm really happy for Melo finally getting another shot. I believe he still got plenty left in his tank. Prove them wrong Melo!
I really like the idea of the Trailblazers getting Carmelo Anthony as their wingman. It's like this, whenever Portland is hitting playoffs they are playing like they need some extra help cause dame and mccollum are being doubled most of the time. And with another man getting some shots that is wide open, it's lights out. And besides, in Houston, taking a mid range is a sin. Here in Portland, they're allowed to do so.
I think the contract is good for the club and for players because Trailblazers and Carmelo agree in a contract agreement (Non-Guaranteed). Melo will get $14K while in the Portland Roster. His contract will be fully guaranteed (Fully-Guaranteed) if he is not released after 7 January 2020.
Melo for sure will try his very best to prove his worth, he really wanted to play and to what I understand he also willing to adjust his level, He's willing to play even in a support cast and not the star caliber the way he was treated before. I'm also hoping that he's contract will continue and he bring good help for CJ and Dame. With his experienced he can add mental boost for Dame and CJ while trying to workout with blending the chemistry.

Not sure if Melo is the perfect player to give a boost to the team. Melo is an icon but he is the leader that does not easily gets along perfectly well with other players, not especially as just a simple team booster and not as a star player in court, which he still believe he is until now.

It will be a hard fought race for the MVP.
There is Kawhi, Lebron and the new crowd favorite Doncic.
Triple doubles or double double, these guys are game changers and Gianis might be on the last of the list.
It will depend also on their health. if possible 80 games should be played to take that trophy for season MVP.

I will vote for Doncic now. Give him some boost to be more confident and be the new face of the league.  Grin

Luca has the very big chance to become the youngest MVP, younger than D.Rose (MVP at age 22). Im voting half for Doncic, as he continued to be consistent by leading the Dallas Mavericks last season up to this season averaging almost a triple double at a very high level of basketball IQ.
While, I'm also voting half for LeBron. He's in his 17th season and were playing like the LeBron in 2013.

If Doncic wont get the MVP this year, I'm pretty sure next season he will.

I am again impressed with the performance that Antetokoumpo displayed in the game against Bulls.
38 points with 16 rebounds he is again the MVP for Buck this season for sure. If he keeps scoring like that he will be surely the MVP of regular season and why not this time in the play offs as well.

Agreed dude is a man among boys sometimes out on the court.  When he is playing it's easy to see he is pretty much the best one on the court almost every game.  I difinately think if everyone stays healthy the bucks come out of the east.  Now matched up against one of the west powerhouses, that will be a good finals.
If they will be healthy throughout the whole season then they will be a championship contender again but still, there are many strong teams in the East like the Raptors. Even they are short - handed right now, they are still a competitive team and the 76ers with a better line up right now and the Miami Heat which is a surprise to me.

If you compare the teams in the West this season and last season, we can see that they are a lot stronger right now. Lakers and Clippers became stronger right now. Another surprise team for me is the Phoenix Suns and the Jazz.

Agreed. Most of the games of Bucks, this guy always score a lot and one of the player that keeping them alive especially in crucial time. Aside from Lakers team, Bucks is also one of the team that can advanced to the final as their standing is 8 - 3 same with other team such as Miami, Toronto, Denver, Rockets, and Jazz. While Boston takes the top spot in all followed by Lakers.

The Bucks is still an immature team compared to more veteran team, they will most likely choke during playoffs or even in a crucial matches. I think they will reach the finals only if they can acquire veteran players who can lead them during clutch times.

Hey mate. Looks like I have won. Smiley A sign, whatever the offer, is still a sign.

Carmelo Anthony to sign with Portland Trail Blazers

Anyways, we can wait until we see Melo playing actually on the court before we finished this deal so these reports and agreements are not just a pure statement.
Congratulations on your bet guys, that was a good run for you I guess. Congratulations to our boy Melo too.

It's posted on bleacher reports twitter account which makes it a reliable source: https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1195158711637028864

There are some good games tonight to get some value in parlays. I am taking the Pacers to cover the +6 and for a underdog I'm going with the Thunder to upset the 76ers. I'll take Pacers +6, OKC ML, Jazz ML, Celtics ML for a small outlay of $20 and return $156.36

I hope he values this chance given to him and accepts his role. Most probably he will be coming out from the bench and we all know his attitude towards that before.

Yeah. and I think Frontcourt is one of the sources of the Portland problem because Collins, Nurkic, and Gasol are still absent due to injury, leaving Whiteside, which is only his main focus. Some players have adapted to today's NBA games that emphasize Three-Point Shooting and Spacing The Floor. Melo has also tried to become an Off-Ball Scorer while in OKC and Houston.
-

Scoring-wise would not be a problem on Melo, defense is the part where he is weak but i think the Blazers need a guy who can score while most of their Frontcourt is not playing due to injury. In the elimination, Melo will be an asset but come playoffs he will be a some sort of a liability because of his defense but then again thanks to the Blazers for giving this guy a chance and who knows this might be a lucky season for Melo.

Will Melo be able to sign this year? As for me, YES. I pick YES because I think no one will bet for it based on the current Melo's situation that is almost no development or progress if some teams will still show interest to sign him. So basically, I'm the one who has the most risks here. Smiley

BTC0.005 each for first 2 who will take the bet.
This is very interesting, so this means we will know who will win by January 1, 2020?  I like to reserve that first slot then if the answer to my question is yes. I will bet against you.  Grin

DEAL. Quoted for reference.

My chances are until December 31, 2019: 23:59. Let's follow the BITCOINTALK FORUM TIME.

The reason why I trust PG will play amazingly with Kawhi is that the whole team of clippers is a team built around being not better than the other team but working harder than the other team, with addition of kawhi+pg they became better than the other team AND work harder which makes them an all around team, so PG will be willing to accept that.

Plus, this dude played with Westbrook for couple years, one of the most (if not THE most) ball hog players in the whole league, dude literally tried his hardest to average triple double every single year and PG was okay with it because he just wanted to fit in and win games instead of ruining something that was already working. PG will always have a lot of points and a great defense but he will not force it, he will just have it because dude is talented.

Paul George makes his debut for the Clippers against New Orleans Pelicans, it's a good news for the Clippers. with Lou Williams Leonard Khawi and Paul George they can make a good season even they can go soo far and win the NBA title.
His debut game with the Pelicans right now end up with a loss as they lost against NOP 132-127 although he did a great job alongside with Williams with both of them have 33 & 31 points respectively.

That is an exceptional performance from PG. 33 points 9 Rebounds within 24 minutes. It does not look like an output from someone coming from an injury. What would it be like for the Clippers when Kawhi and PG are playing together already? This will be fun to watch.

But that is not really good. We are talking about professionals who went to a lot of hardships to claim the position now.

Let's forget about Melo and Dwight a bit and use a young and upcoming player as an example. If he is good enough for the team, he will be drafted and will get a guaranteed contract. If he isn't good for the team but the management thinks there's a 50-50 chance that the player can improve, the non-guaranteed contract can be used by the team and see if it will work out or not. If it works, he'll get a better contract. If it doesn't, then that player has to work even harder. That is still fair for both parties.

If we're going to talk about veterans who're getting non-guaranteed contracts now, remember that they once had a guaranteed contract and earned a lot from it. They already got paid a good amount of money for their hard work.
Now, Melo has the opportunity to silence all existing criticism. If he proves successful in Portland, then he can extend his career even longer. I'm really happy for Melo finally getting another shot. I believe he still got plenty left in his tank. Prove them wrong Melo!
