But, will the Blazers improve when CJ comes back?

Hopefully because he'll be able to help Lillard in the offensive department.

What Ariza has showed in his first game gives some hope to the Fans although they lose, eventually, their chemistry will improve and once again they'll be playing in the playoffs, but this time around they will be a more dangerous team.

I don't it will be difficult for them to create chemistry with him.
This guy is not a "superstar" like player. I have seen him play before and he is more about defense.
Yes, he shoot but with a lower percentage and that is why he doesn't do it much.
If he is just free then he will take it.

They will improve. It is still a long season. There could still be a lot of changes that will happen in the top 8 of the West. They are not that far from the 8th seed.

Gary Harris, jamal, plumlee and a couple of others are out.  At full strength it's a different line.  This wasnt because of zion especially against a good defensive team like the nuggets.  With all those out the nugs just might play a bench game.  It's a trap game to bet on either the spread or the o/u, I wouldn't touch this game

Jamal has been sideline for awhile now.. while Plumlee is sure out in this game.

here's his report according to https://www.rotoworld.com/basketball/nba/player/29939/mason-plumlee
Quote
Mason Plumlee (right foot) will reportedly miss the next 2-4 weeks of action.

while Gary harris is only questionable in this game, so he might play.

After the teams are decided on the all-star games (its not like it used to be, captains pick the team for the past 2 years) I am sure there will be an all-star odds thing as well. Last year it was heavily west because Lebron picked a much much better team and this year I am sure he will pick a better one as well, dude knows how to pick a good team tbf. I would bet on west allstars to win right now if it was open, I am that sure of it.

Zion could make "that" much of a difference tho, we are talking about a team that didn't had a proper player at his position and he came in and made a big difference even on his first game and he showed people he can make a difference as well. I am not saying he is a superstar right away, but he is a "good" player right now, like lonzo or brandon and probably matters more than josh hart already. Having one more good player changes so much for teams, new orleans is just lucky all of their good players are super young.

This is something really enormous for New Orleans.
When was the last time they went to the playoffs?
Oh it was just 2018. I forgot they got Anthony Davis back then. So confused now with a lot of trades. They even got until conference Finals against GSW.

And looks like no playoff appearance for them now. I even offer a bet on it but unfortunately, no one accepts it.

Also, another year again to Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball without playoffs.

J.J Redick will surely disappointed at this. He never missed playoffs for 13 seasons and even throw a joke at Zion not to screw his playoffs streak lol.

Haha. Redick will be watching Riddick of Vin Diesel while resting without a playoffs game.  Grin

Young guns though are really unlucky going to different teams and then not even having an experience for a playoffs game.
They must really try it once, they will surely know how hardcore it will be unlike the season.

Oh! look at this.

New Orleans Pelicans -3.5 (1.94) vs Denver Nuggets +3.5 (1.88)
That fast?!!!
Is Zion really that huge of an impact that it went thru Vegas?  Grin
They are starting to be emotional.

For sure, there will an online betting with this NBA allstar draft pick as well.

I am not sure, but knowing how popular the NBA and the all star game, they might give some odds for this.
however, I might not bet on that if there's an offer, I will just try to bet on the spread of west vs east and try to pick the all star MVP as well, for sure its not gonna be Lebron, if West will win, here's my top picks, : Davis, Westbrook, and Harden.

No more team Leberon or Team Giannis?
They are going back to the old thing?

NBA cannot think of something new by now? Maybe we should start suggesting some styles for the All-Star next time.  Cheesy
What a roster for the West. Those are monsters that needs to be separated.

Nah, this are just the presentation of the East and West starter line up and they are going to be drafted on February 6th (Im not sure about the date) of course by LeBron and Giannis as they are both the team captains on their respective conferences. Bench and reserve will follow.
Here is some of the hottest topic around the NBA on who should be the first pick :

Ariza seem to find a team that values him, good job by the Blazers.

In his first game, he already took the starter role and scored 21 points in 35 minutes of paying time.
Unfortunately they lose against the Mavericks.

But, will the Blazers improve when CJ comes back?

Of course they will, I think Ariza fit well on the blazers system of basketball and that's why he gained the starting line-up. Maybe if CJ comes back, he will have his regular role that would beat benefit the team.

That's the final that was just announced recently. The West sure is an all star hype roster and it's less than a month now til' we see the match. I guess the bookies are getting ready for this match now. Everybody will be betting for the West, who's with the East here?

I think I will also go with the West roster.

I don't need to explain myself since everyone here would be also siding with me with this pick. I love Giannis, still a fan of him but this is all star so, I will go with the West. Speaking of West, what is happening with him lately? Heard Bron will be helping him get into Lakers?

If Ariza would remain efficient and will score at least 20 points per game, that would be great for the Blazers fans.
Also he is good in defense, in his first game, he already got 2 steals and his 3 point shooting is very efficient at 4-6 while total FG is 7-11 compared to 7-21 for Melo.

Zion was suddenly forgotten.  Grin
Thanks to the All-Star?

Yeah, it is just the list of the secured names which will participate.
But regarding choosing sides it will still be Lebron and Giannis which can choose their team mates.

Ask the NBA about it, of course West team are beast since they have most of the superstars in their conference. I think NBA all-star should be better be the old school all-star game unlike the previous one. West vs east, this way the fans will get to see superstars in their conference fighting for the trophy. Anyways, it's no big deal for me since it's only an exhibition match and almost no tight defense is showed during the game.

If you notice the replay you'll see that their defense against Zion isn't really what you normally see on Coach Pop's playbook, usually players like him won't be left unguarded. They might played differently against him either because they don't want to be the team who will re-injure Williamson or they just want him to get a good NBA debut of his rookie career. Other things I have notice is that Williamson isn't driving that much to the basket and he wants to spot up a shot as fast as he can, he might still be worried about his injury and doesn't want to be careless as well.

I think they are playing against the weakness of Zion which is outside shooting. They cannot just let him dominate the paint so they gave him the outside shots. But it didn't work because Zion did not miss a 3.

The captains are still Lebron and Giannis because they topped the voting for their respected conference. After the supporting players for the all-stars are announced, the two will pick their teammates regardless of their conference. It is still Lebron vs Giannis team and not totally West vs East.

Actually it's fine with me to go back with the East-West thing so that at least on the name of their team everyone got fair spotlight Grin. I mean, for me it sounds biased if a certain team is named after an All Star Player because you can't remove the tendency that some people might only think that Lebron is the strongest there and the others (especially those who are not an avid basketball fan) are just supporting blah blah. I hope you get my point guys Grin.

What a roster for the West. Those are monsters that needs to be separated.
Hahaha, indeed. They are solid as rock dude Grin. Actually, now I'm wondering how Giannis and the rest will win against them. But who knows, maybe Luka's magic will be effective and the Freak will be in rage mode when their game starts.

Zion surprised me on that last quarter and it almost took them on a win. If ever that's happened, a big name ZION will spread all over the news. He just exploded in the last quarter and he is really nailing that shot. Although to what I noticed, those three-pointers made by Zion aren't guarded properly so I blame Spurs here for their poor defense. But in the end, they still managed to escape that rally by the Pelicans.

Noticed also the passing skills of Lonzo Ball. That's his main forte' even back on Lakers.

If you notice the replay you'll see that their defense against Zion isn't really what you normally see on Coach Pop's playbook, usually players like him won't be left unguarded. Good strategy for coach Pop, give the Zion to shine in this game and he actually did, scoring 17 straight points and hitting 4 out of 4 in three points. Too bad though that he won't get the ROTY.

But at the end, the Spurs win the game, so it's really a "win-win" situation for both of them, props to coach Pop.  Grin
