Regular season and playoff performances may differ from each other.
Big difference actually as it's hard to predict who will be the NBA champions. Usually, teams with experience have an upper hand in the playoffs.

We have seen many teams that were very successful in the regular season but were eliminated in the first or second round of the playoffs. Similarly, there may be teams that advance to the conference finals even though they are not very successful in the regular season.
I'm very curious to see how Tatum and Brown's playoff performances will be. We can watch it in the finals with good team play
They excited early last season, do some changes in the team by getting holiday and KP, and obviously they are better compared to last season. But you now, the playoffs are different so they have to prepare for it as they need a real leader that could be good during clutch times, not choked.

Celtics are gonna end at the number 1 spot for sure, so they'll face the top 8... if Miami Heat will be at 8, then we have a series. It cannot be denied that bookies will make them as heavy favorites but Miami Heat had proved things many times, so personally I'm gonna bet against them when that happens.

Yes, and prior to that they've read the finals against the Warriors, so Tatum and Brown as their leader have the needed experience come playoff time. Holiday as well, being in the championship team with the Bucks. And who would forget how to take the ball out of the hand of Booker and then a lob pass for Giannis in their series?

So it's a different team, but I do like them facing the Heat in the first one, it will be a big test for them. And if they make it then, could be an easy road for them in the finals. But still though, we really don't know how everything will turn out in the playoff or if they will continue to dominate any teams that they are going to face.

Wemby talking big about being a future DPOY winner recently but he has a long way to go. I've seen how Jokic just bulldozing his way to the paint against Wemby's thin body hehe.

I don't think that Joel Embiid will be even back in the playoff if ever the Sixers made it. So this might be also a season ending for the Sixers. Although they can extend it and go to the playoff and used it as a experienced for them, but I think they have surrendered already to that fact that without their leader, they will be having a hard time against the East.
The 76ers are currently in eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, meaning they still have a chance to make the play-in tournament and maybe the playoffs. The 76ers need to at least maintain their current spot in the standings, as there are optimistic rumors that Embiid could return in late March or early April.
I think it's better to just let him recover fully for the rest of the season even if the team make it to the play in tournament. I doubt they will go far anyway so just let the young ones experience it.

They showed a really great performance this season. I'm very curious about what they can do in the playoffs, maybe they can become this season's champion. They haven't had a season as good as this one in a long time.
Actually, I don't think they are the team with the best squad, but they managed to achieve great success in the matches Smiley

We have already witnessed countless times where a team had outstanding performance in a regular season while on the other hand, when it comes to playoffs, they struggled and can't seem to find their rhythms just like how they played before. Let's just hope it won't be the case for the Celtics because we all know that chances to get the best spot and to have such great play in a season are rare and they need to be consistent until the end and they need to reach the NBA finals with it and win the championship because if not, they might gonna change their rosters and they will surely sink after that.

Celtics are definitely looking like a great team, there is no doubt about that and in fact I think they are showing that Ime Udoka wasn't the reason why they won so much, it's clear that they are doing fine without him too. But this is the regular season, the point is that teams could do well at regular season and not so well during playoffs, or the teams could do terrible at regular season and barely got it working, that is just how it has been all the time.

I feel like it is going to be a bit of trouble for Celtics and should not be all that easy, we could end up seeing them not do that well at playoffs. I am not saying they will, I am just saying that it is one of the possibilities that they should be careful about anyway.

They are playing the system that was orginated by Brad Stevens, the coaches are just guided as the current coach is already the 2nd coach for Celtics afer Brad Stevens got promoted to become the president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_Stevens).

However, like in the past, they seemed to struggle in getting the championship, the longest they reach was when they reach the NBA Finals but the experience Warriors beat them.

I can see that they have the best chance this season. I think we will be seeing the defending champion (Denver Nuggets) vs the Boston Celtics, and it will become an interesting NBA Finals as there will be a game 7 on this. That's my vision this year, so hopefully it will happen and Miami Heat will not upset them again. It's a differenet squad for Miami since some role players were sign by other teams but they are still very dangerous as the starting players and their coach are still here, the heat culture is going to be emphasize again in the playoffs.

Zion is looking pretty good his last few games and helped the Pelicans beat the Clippers tonight. This is his second 30+ point outing in a row and his stats have been improving a lot lately each game. I’m half expecting him to go for 40 in his next game. I love to see him leading the team in minutes. He seems to finally be getting it together.

It was still a close game though, Clippers was able to hang in until in the last 2 minutes of the game. But that steal was very crucial in the last minute and I think that put dampen the spirit of the Clippers to make a comeback or even force the game into OT. Paul George is cooking in this game after he was in the receiving on in their last games against the defense that ANT put on him.

And whenever Zion gets the ball, it's usually high percentage as most of his point are in the paint and Zubac was kindly slow guarding him and they are giving him his strong side which is the left side. Needed win by the Pels to keep their 5th position in the West.

The Sixers are really having trouble finding ways to win games without Joel Embiid. Here, against the Bucks they really did good in the first 2 quarters as they were able to put a great defense on Giannis. And then former Buck player hitting three points. But the Bucks were able to held their ground and make a comeback at the start of the 3rd quarter and that's it, cruise control on the 4th as Giannis almost put up a triple double performance. They are in the 6th spot in the East, but I think the Pacers and the Heat are going to caught up with them and maybe they will slide down into the 8th spot.

I think what they need to do is let this season end, and if ever they get into the playoffs, then play the playoffs. I think at that time, Joel Embiid will be available to play, but I think it is risky to let Embiid play since he just recovered from his injury, and it might be better to sit him until the next season. Then, if the Sixers did not make it past the first round of the playoffs, they should pick some players using the assets they received from the James Harden trade.

The two things they can do are: get some good role players that they can surround around Maxey and Embiid; the second option is to get a third star that can help them boost their offense; so if one of them is injured, they can still win some games because Maxey alone cannot win.

I don't think that Joel Embiid will be even back in the playoff if ever the Sixers made it. So this might be also a season ending for the Sixers. Just to bad again for Embiid to go down again, he is the reigning MVP but I guess he won't be defending it this year and most likely Jokic or Luka as two of the strongest candidate and 3rd will be Giannis and SGA to me.

How about the games between the Bulls and the Pacers, DeRozan put up a massive 45 points in a win in OT against the home team Pacers. I thought that the Pacers are going to win without going into OT, but DeRozan mid range shot proved to be still his best weapon, him and Kawhi I would consider has put that as their main weapons, and no one can stop it with their fade away shots.

However, I'm not a hater of Bulls, but there are games that they are inconsistent that's why I stay away from betting on them. But congrats to those who have ride on them on this big win against the Pacers.

I haven't watched my Chicago Bulls real closely all year, but last night I was tuned in from begging to the end, and it sure disappoint, which is normally what happens with my Chicago bulls.

DeRozan is one heck of a player, and honestly I'm wondering why he's still on the Bulls.  I of course love him and having a great player like him on the team, but they suck, and aren't anywhere near competing for anything meaningful, I just don't understand why he wasn't traded.  Anyways, great OT shot, what a player.

DeRozan is a great player, but he's in the wrong era.  His strength seems to be midrange game and he's not the most skilled player at getting open shots.  I once saw a stat that showed DeRozan takes a higher percentage of shots with close coverage from the defender than any other player in the NBA.  That shows me he either needs teammates that can spread the floor and get him open, he takes bad shots, or he struggles getting open either by moving away from the ball or using dribbling skills to get to his spot.  In the 80s he would have dominated probably.  Today, his game just isn't fit for what works in the NBA.  That's why I think Toronto had to get rid of him to win a championship.  He's a hell of a player, but his style isn't efficient enough at getting points to help his team win.

Yeah the glaring issue with Demar's game is unquestionably the lack of a three point shot.  He really doesn't take many opportunities as he's just not that accurate from that range.  Like you said, that mid-range shot of his is about as good as anyone's in the league, which is impressive, but hurts his overall game.  He's still a valuable asset to have, but he's needs to be part of a team where he's not that number one or probably two.

They are really struggling because if you look at the standing in the top 10 in the East, they are the worst team in terms of the last 10 games result. They are 3-7, which shows a very poor performance. Currently down to number 7 but are very close to the Miami Heat and Bulls.. So if the trend will continue, they might be in the play-in which is on a tough spot or will not make it to the play-in. It's just unfortunate that what they work for will end up to be a waste because Embiid goes down.

The two things they can do are: get some good role players that they can surround around Maxey and Embiid; the second option is to get a third star that can help them boost their offense; so if one of them is injured, they can still win some games because Maxey alone cannot win.
Too late to make an adjustment, and I think they are doing everything to keep this team competitive but it's just that Embiid was really the heart of this team, without him this team is not a playoff team anymore.

Anthony Davis still hasn't won against Domantas Sabonis. That's 10-0 now.
Nice trivia, didn't know that. Not happy with that too, lol.. I loss my bet on the Lakers, thinking they are well rested and could bet the home team. Again, I fall into the trap thinking the Lakers are for real, they are just messing with my money, never again.  Smiley
You are not alone with that. The Sacramento Kings played back to back that day, I thought they won't have the energy to win that game and the Lakers will take advantage of it. I was wrong.
But back to the topic, honestly I don't know that Davis was 0-10 vs Sabonis. I think I'll research more on that. That says also that Sabonis is very underrated as a player.
He is underrated. Also, he has the longest double-double in franchise history and most triple-double in the season. Yes, more than Jokic. 22 triple-doubles for Sabonis and 21 for the Joker. Who would've thought? I didn't expect that from him. Double-doubles are no doubt from him but triple-doubles is amazing.

Kings offense are just impressive, although they have their best player but the ball movement was really impressive. They are not afraid to shot the ball, that's the Warriors style their coach had learn, now they are better than the Warriors since they have healthy and young players.
And they have a big man that is unselfish. Offensive rebounds are also high because of Sabonis and he can put the ball back to the rim so fast. His problem before was too many fouls, he is always fouled out but I think he is learning from experience. It's true, they aren't afraid to shoot and the chemistry is strong.
They are the better version of the Warriors, or should I say they are like the Warriors in their prime. Coach Mike Brown really outdid himself this time. He also learned a lot and he is not like when he was in the Cavaliers who was just focused on using Lebron James. Right now his player rotation is like how Steve Kerr does it. No waste of players.

Best Celtics team so far, they are dominating this season and will finish with the best record. But as we all know, they struggle a lot in the playoffs, this time I'm hoping they'll proved us wrong. KP has been a good help for this team this season but with his recent injury, don't know if they'll be a great team in the playoffs.

Kristaps Porziņģis is set to miss 20th game; which Celtics backup could be big in playoffs?

That's the risk of getting him because he had some long history of injury. However, even without him, the Celtics are still dominating, so that's the bigger news. He might miss more games but as long as he is ready in the playoffs, the team will more ready. I think that news was not the latest, but we have the lates news which gives some positive signs on his report according to this coach.

The Celtics will be without Kristaps Porzingis for the fourth straight game on Thursday night against the Phoenix Suns due to a hamstring strain. However, Boston’s usual starting center was spotted pregame going through an intense workout with the team’s training staff. With the big man’s injury keeping him sidelined for a full week now, Joe Mazzulla signaled in his pregame press conference that Porzingis is making strides in his recovery.

“He’s progressing well,” Mazzulla said. “He was on the court today earlier, just working out with the guys. Don’t have an official timeline, but he’s getting better and better.”

Celtics is showing once again they're the best team in the league. They beat the Suns easily. The score was neck and neck in the first half because they gave too many offensive rebounds to the Suns, but right at the beginning of the second half they went on a run and opened the gap. The Celtics used Grayson Allen's defensive weakness very well. Every time someone matched up with him, they went ahead to him and scored. Brown, Tatum and Horford were very good.

After 66 games, the Celtics became the first team to secure a play-off spot. There's a big difference between Boston and the other teams. They are by far the best in the regular season, but the most important thing will be their play-off performance.

Yep, the Celtics look like a very strong team based on the regular season. I'm not sure if they will be champions this season, but they don't have much competition in the Eastern Conference playoffs at first glance. I think the Cavs, Bucks, and Heat are probably the only teams that could be a problem for the Celtics.

Yes, that is big question for the Celtics, but I think they have improved obviously this season, their acquisition is solid, KP and Holiday. And again, just a question whether they can translate this big run in the playoff and totally dominate as well going into the finals.

And most likely, not sure if there is a betting site that listed this, but how many wins will the Boston Celtics win in this post season?

What do you guys think? 65 or higher?
