One of my all-time favorite player Vince Carter will play one more season. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks for a 1-year deal. Damn that his 21st season now and he's turning 42 next year. Looks like he's getting more money  (although not that muc) before retirement even he have a chance to be signed on one of a championship caliber team in the league.  Cool

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24194157/atlanta-hawks-add-vince-carter-21st-season
Good luck with his last season, his old days were the best but due to going old thing he can't do better than before.
I admire Vince Carter when I was still a kid and now that I've grown up I still know his name and his contribution to the league.
He'll never get old and he's too underrated on these days but good thing he got 1-year deal with Hawks.
This last year contract would be a bonus after playing for 21years inside this league, though he can't move the same way but the knowledge that he've got from playing those years can add up inside his new team, he can share his experience  for those new players to be more inspired playing this game, good luck Vince.

Actually in Sacramento Kings, he was seen giving advice and coaching youngsters while on the bench. He also have limited playing time to give way for youngsters. And to Atlanta Hawks, I think same scenario will happened.

Sitting in the bench with pay, who else doesn't want that? Smiley

Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter, two of my favorites in the league. I even think that they will be retired now this season but they will continue. Don't know the purpose of Vince but I believed Dirk will try to break the record of Wilt Chamberlain in All-Time Points leaders before hanging his jersey. Chamberlain is currently sitting at top 5 with 31,419 pts. and Dirk has 31,187 pts at top 6. But surely LeBron James will passes this 2 so Dirk will remained at top 6.

Do you have any suggestion for new poll question? I guess it's too early to talk about next champion. Let me know your ideas so I'll change the poll.

Thanks for responding. Hope that the other thread created by a passerby will not be recognized unless a MOD will say so.

Back to topic, the previous poll is just fine.

Just still the same and its not bad to make such early poll voting and i have just seen this with another guy https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/2019-nba-season-4744820
tending out to make a new thread because this is already crowded? No its not really needed after all yet this is a main thread for NBA discussions having other similar threads arent necessary.

Yes, the same as before is my vote also.

That way gamblers also might have an idea into which they will pick to bet with.
If they want to go against it for better winnings then why not. I also want to see if there are people who are supporting other teams. For example, Hornets.
It could also be a way for others to investigate into why or how that team will have a chance for a championship. Examples are the trades and what is new with their management.

Just to add up some flavor.  Grin

I guess the old format is good because we just want to know who will win in the coming NBA season.
For me, there is nothing to change, let's see if it's still the warriors who will have the majority votes, I hope the voters will increase to add more fun.

I think I forgot to consider that the Cavs are in the Eastern Conference so my bad.  Cheesy Cheesy This is just my opinion but seventh or eight seed is possible for them since Eastern Conference players are not that good compare to Western Conference. Yeah I think they can compete with other eastern teams and I believe that Coach Ty will adjust his coaching style now that Lebron is gone into his team. If they want to clinch into the playoffs, they must step up on every game.

And I believed Tyronn Lue will now be a Tyronn Lue meaning no pressure at him to do plays and rotation because he will not overthink now of what things he should do unlike when LeBron James is on team where he needs to put LeBron on more playing time.

Oh yeah forgot about that. Tyronn Lue doing a great job even with all the trade that happened.
Without Lebron their plays will be not the same.
He will be tested as a coach omce again. Is he really good like how he did the chemistry of this guys at mid season trades.

There will be critics looking at him if he makes it to the top 8. If not, that will be a problem. People might think it is just really Lebron who have been pulling them up.

Lets see how Love will play in this upcoming season. I don't think he will be the same Kevin Love as he is in the Timberwolves but he needs to step up on every game now that he is the lone all star player in the Cavs. I wish they will get another underdog player. We will see how Love and the Cavs play in the season but I don't think they can clinch unto the playoffs right now.

With just the dissappearance of LeBron James they can't clinched a playoffs now? Remember they are on Eastern Conference. Smiley Their lineup is still intact and no major changes at all. Still one of the competitive team in the East so even on 8th spot they can make it.

Lets stop that Melo thing for now because many know that he doesn't fit there (just joking)  Cheesy Cheesy

Lets talk about Kevin Love signing a 4 year 120 million extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst and Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon report the Cavs have signed Kevin Love to a four-year, $120 million extension.

The team officially announced the move on Tuesday afternoon as Love signed the contract at Quicken Loans Arena in front of Cavs front-office officials and construction crews working on renovating the arena.

http://www.nba.com/article/2018/07/24/report-kevin-love-signs-four-year-120-million-extension-cleveland-cavaliers?collection=news

Now that Love is the remaining all-star in the Cavs, what will be the future of the team. Can he seek help from his teammates. I wish what Lebron did last season will not happen to Love next season.

Its a good move for Kevin to stay with the Cavs he will now be the new face of the team. He will be their franchise player for one and we all know that Kevin is very much capable of carrying a team just like he did when he is still in Minnesota. So all is not lost of the Cleveland franchise. Let's see if he can revive his career again and re-invent himself since his been in the shadow of Lebron and Kyrie for quiet some time now. (and both of them are gone now.)
He deserved that amount of contract but I don't know if he can still deliver the way he play like he was still with the Twolves.
Love is a different player now and there are better players than him in the league, I know he cannot do it alone, so the management should seek for fresh talents.
We will see if it was really worth it. I think it was a good move by the Cavaliers and to be honest, he just became a support type and now that they have a different roster, he could probably perform differently and with the recruitment of fresh talents, why not?
Lets see how Love will play in this upcoming season. I don't think he will be the same Kevin Love as he is in the Timberwolves but he needs to step up on every game now that he is the lone all star player in the Cavs. I wish they will get another underdog player. Yeah, I would agree that he won't be the same Kevin Love, but you see he is just the 2nd option with the Cavs that's why his numbers is down but from time to time specially in playoffs wherein Love can pour 20-10 a night. He still has it and now being the first option with the Cavs, maybe we can see him pour more points and rebounds again just like his old days in Timberwolves.

Then its really a blessing for Love to stay with the Cavaliers then. Perhaps another MVP numbers for him? Yes, I do think that they can also clinch easily a playoff spot even with the current roster. Tyron being a coach is being underestimated, imo, just because he has Lebron, everyone thinks he doesn't know how to adjust this coaching style. I'm sure he knows that Lebron will be leaving and might have talk to Love to stay with the team and try to rebuild it again with him as the center. It might not take a year or two, but definitely they will go and recruit players as they see fit so that Cavs can go back post-Lebron era again.

Yes and besides they will be playing with young players in other teams of the West so they could win games using their experiences which are really high specially Kevin Love.
These guys are still NBA players so you cannot just shut them down just because Lebron is not there anymore.

Agree. Their lineup is still full of caliber and experienced players. And with LeBron not around, Tyronn Lue will now have a chance to rotate his players according to his own. Also not questioning the light competition on the East but it's difficult to imagined that Cavaliers will be shadowed by 8 East teams if ever it will be a reality that they will not enter the playoffs.

I think Cavaliers can make it to spot 4 or 5 but not under top 8.

It is just the Title that they change. OP of this one could change the title also just so to be updated.
Why does someone else wants to own one thread if he doesnt know anything about it.  Grin

OP of this thread is joining NBA discussions regularly back then. I don't know the reason why he became inactive here (only in the discussion but his account is active). We can PMed him then changed the title of the thread if that is the problem by others lol.

The new OP just came here and created one thread. I don't know why others posted there without realizing that it can be a formed of spam since we are posting on 2 threads with just the same idea. Until this will be locked I will do the discussions here.

The rockets could use Melo for sure.
I hope that there will be no conflict between him and Harden. I hope for the best to Rockets and I've read the article that Harden said it's a great acquisition for them.
I think, Melo can't keep up with him
Who knows? coming from Harden he said that he's a great acquisition. If they want to win and go long with this season they have to adjust.
