A couple games to watch on ESPN tonight. Can’t say I’m too interested in watching the first one but the Timberwolves over the Spurs should be an easy win for bettors. The second game should prove to be a little more exciting as the Nuggets take on the Clippers. Surprisingly the Clippers are the favorite, so I’m wondering if the Nuggets have some people out.
The Clippers-Denver game was a surprising one. Denver led by 15 at the end of the first quarter but only to allow the home team to double their score in the second quarter. The defense was good but Jokic missed some shots he should've made.
Not just Jokic missed the shots that he should have made, but him and Murray had committed a lot of turnovers as well, and then he had one shot that was block by Zu. It's critical that he made those shots and score to score. Kudos to their defense as well when they shut down Murray and Porter Jr in the 4th quarter.

While George waxes hot in the 3's again and so it Kahwi taking advantage of the small Murray guarding him. And the Beard with that sidestep three's un-guardable. But this is just one game though, I think the Denver is still the better team down playoff time.
I think it wasn't the night for the Joker having 9/32 FG that was a lot of missed opportunities. I think the turnover committed by Denver was the one that took the Clippers momentum though if it wasn't the case I think they have gotten the lead. Miami on the other hand had a good night without Adebayo, and Orlando Robinson got some great stats as well as Caleb Martin with their double-double performances. I got a win with these two teams today.

I'm thinking exactly the same thing as yours. Among all these four team left for the in-season tournament, the Bucks are the most favourite.
The Lakers may likely going to win against the Pelicans, but one thing that makes things really unsure for the Lakers to win against the Pelicans is the fact that the Pelicans beat the Kings 3-0 this season, while the Lakers have not won any against the Kings (if I remember it correctly). Though this is just a single bases and a completely different teams, but it's still bugging me lol.

The problem with the Lakers is that they are very dependent on the performance of LeBron and Davis, and this leads to unpredictable team results. Sometimes, they look like a strong team, and it seems like they can beat almost any top team. But at the same time, the paradox is that the Lakers sometimes perform so poorly that even outsiders can beat them without much difficulty.

And with that, they are inconsistent, not unpredictable but inconsistent. There are games that they absolutely destroys their opponent, and majority they will let them take a huge lead and they play catchup.

As you have said, they are depended on Lebron and Davis to play that good. If either of them had bad games, no one will step up, or least there will be one or two but it won't be enough. We even don't know who are their 3rd options. Sometimes it will be Austin Reaves, and then D'Lo or Prince or Rui if he is healthy.

Utah playing without their star players (Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen), easy win by Dallas, and they badly need that win.
The Utah Jazz had a good team last 2021-22 season  but now they're really bad. Watching their games is disappointing and they're performing worse than fans expected with a score difference of -47. It's not enjoyable to watch them anymore. I think Utah Jazz need a strong center who can grab rebounds and make second attempt. Kessler isn't doing well in rebounds he gets outplayed by better centers and he lacks side to side movement.

What was the biggest win by a team this season?

I think the Dallas are gonna hold another record after a win against the Utah Jazz. They had a big win with the score of 147-97, that was a 50 point win. After making a record on a 30-0 run, biggest in the history of the NBA, now they have this one on a possible record this season.

That is expected because Dallas right now is a team of scorers and their offense this season is amazing, they cannot just afford to lose this easy one since they need it to secure the playoff ranking as early as possible. Mostly whoever has many wins in the early seasons is most likely going to play in the NBA playoffs and they won't have any things like having some hardship to defend their position when things get tough at the end of the regular season. If only they could get that much score in every game, they could get to the number one spot quickly.

The odds aren't that good for Timberwolves especially when they have the best record in the league at the moment. Luckily, I just watched them trailing 42-48 before the end of the second quarter so I took the -4.5 at 2.02 odds.

So it seems like Wemby and his teammates are making history in the Spurs franchise. 15 straight losses at the moment so one more loss and they are tied at the franchise record. But their next game will be against the Bulls at home, this should be another opportunity for them to stop the bleeding after losing a close game to Atlanta. I'll be taking the ML here just in case the Spurs will fall short again.

For me, even if they are played on a different schedule, I would only choose one which is the Clippers vs Nuggets as we already know the outcome of the Warriors vs Blazers, as the latter does not know how to win again, the only thing we would know after the game is if the Warriors will be able to cover the spread.

This game is not looking good if you had bet on the Warriors, they are playing at home and yet they are down double digit. I think most bettors bet on the Warriors to easily cover the -13 spread, and look what's happening, there's even a possibility that the Portland are gonna win this game.

So the stage for the In-Season tournament semi finals are all set after the Lakers just won against the Suns. We have Lakers vs. Pelicans and on the other end is the Bucks against the Pacers.

I expect the Lakers will be able to beat the Pelicans, and the Bucks will likely beat the Pacers in the semifinals of the in-season tournament. So it's likely that the Bucks and Lakers will meet each other in the finals.
By the way, the Bucks clearly seem to be the favorites against both the Pacers and the Lakers at this point, although I don't rule out the possibility that these two teams could give the Bucks enough trouble and even beat them.

I'm thinking exactly the same thing as yours. Among all these four team left for the in-season tournament, the Bucks are the most favourite.

We have two more games coming up.
Los Angeles Clippers versus Denver Nuggets
Golden State Warriors versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
Sadly, both games are starting at the same time but I think I am just going to watch the Clippers vs. Nuggets.

I already put my bet, I have the LAC against the Nuggets and Warriors with spread against the Portland trail Blazers.

For me, even if they are played on a different schedule, I would only choose one which is the Clippers vs Nuggets as we already know the outcome of the Warriors vs Blazers, as the latter does not know how to win again, the only thing we would know after the game is if the Warriors will be able to cover the spread.

Do you guys also think that this In-Season tournament is a successful experiment done by the NBA? I think it is. It somehow gave life to the season.
Successful somehow. It's pretty good since it gives teams some motivation to improve their standings and also be rewarded before the NBA Finals.
Yeah, that's right. And the NBA Cup trophy is way attractive to not have.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-unveils-trophies-medals-for-in-season-tournament/

Just in: Atlanta Hawks lost by a point against the Brooklyn Nets. The odds were -1.5 in favor of the Hawks before the game started. Trae Young asked for a foul at the last play and even Coach Snyder got angry because he certainly saw there was a contact. Referees didn't give, they lost in their home crowd.

Minnesota Timberwolves on the other hand also won against the San Antonio Spurs. Well, that was expected but the spreads were also not covered. -10.5 was the starting spread.

The Miami Heat upsets the Toronto Raptors. Wow. Duncan Robinson once again showing that he ain't for the bench team anymore. 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.

We have two more games coming up.
Los Angeles Clippers versus Denver Nuggets
Golden State Warriors versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
Sadly, both games are starting at the same time but I think I am just going to watch the Clippers vs. Nuggets.

Congratulations to the Lakers for winning against the Phoenix Suns, they're unstoppable and consistent this time. They'd be up against the Pelicans tomorrow and this is going to be easy, we'd go for Lakers still.

While on the other side, it's hard to think of Pacers and Bucks. I am a Bucks fan but what Pacers is doing is impressive and I just can't turn my head on them.

But anyway, I'd still go this only for Lakers and whoever wins on the other side, I'd be happy with the result.
I just watched a video a few hours ago (Heat Check) regarding the problem with the Suns right now.
They've shot better than the Lakers (49% for them vs around 30% for the Lakers).

The problem with the Suns is they're allowing their team to get many offensive rebounds, and the Lakers currently are the top in Offensive Rebounds with 14.5 per game. In this game, the Lakers got 21 offensive rebounds which is too many. It seems like the Lakers exposed the Suns' weakness, and that is their big players are just too weak for other teams. TBH, that video is a very good one because knowing that many bettors and NBA fans are rooting for the Suns as their top pick to win the title, they just got exposed by the Lakers, and this might be a reason for them to slip their chance to win a title.

As for the Pacers-Bucks, the Pacers are the top offensive team right now, so I expect this game to be a close one. I mean the Bucks have Lillard, and Giannis plus other role players, but Haliburton is just a great PG for the Pacers. TBH, it's hard to bet which team will win, but I always wanted to be at the opposite side so I might pick the Pacers to win on this one. Smiley

For some reason (probably because of the past) I still see Lakers as a dysfunctioning team and not proper team that can win anything. However, when you look at the situation think about it this way when they are at semi finals of in-tournament situation and also the fourth seed type of thing then when we need to think about it then it should be something that would be quite obvious that they are doing better than what I think will be fine, that should be the most important part.

I believe that we should be considering the situation that should be something that would be all that important and if they keep this up then we should be considering the situation as good. If they win this title and do fine at playoffs, then that's a good season overall.

Was nice to see playoff Bron in December I like this tournament.  In a normal regular season game he doest do half of what he did last night.  I'm with you I still think they need another piece.  Possibly a center.  AD plays too much like a small forward.  I wouldn't change his role just think ypu need someone to lock up the paint.

This is exciting, actually, as we will be seeing how Zion would play in a situation like this. It's not the playoffs yet but it's similar to the playoffs, like a Game 7 because it's a single-elimination game. It's the experienced Lakers versus the talented Pelicans. Now, I think it's hard to choose, but if we base it on how they won in the quarter-finals, I think the Pelicans should be the right choice.

It’s easy Lakers all day long since Lebron is very good on tournament like this since he has a lot of experience which means he has a better performance on crucial games like this. I doubt that raw power of Zion can beat an A full power Lakers since they are not Nuggets that has a lot combination due to Jokic play making.

I think Bucks is the only team that has a best shot to beat Lakers on this tournament since they have Giannis with experience on crucial matches. Zion is still lack of experience and not that flexible compared to the other dominant players.
I'm betting on Lakers on this In-season tournament, but seeing Bron missing his free throws making me think to get a handicap. Some crucial free throws are being missed by Bron, which is normal for most of players but on tournament like this and ofcourse he's considered the GOAT, I hate seeing him missing uncontested shots. Pelicans might played this very closely to Lakers, I like their stats from previous games, they are on momentum as well.

Not the first time that we have seen Lebron choking and missing his free throws though, that's why the discussion about GOAT? he can't be compare to Jordan because of that one crucial are of his. But in this case, it's a team effort here, and then need to be consistent as they are used to do catching up on teams, letting them build a good lead against them and what they do is to catch them in the next 2 quarters.

But it will be very hard for them if they allow Zion and the rest to do that against them, then it will be a hard fought game. Looking at the current odds, the Lakers is the slight favorite to win.
