The OKC Thunder remained unbeaten at 2-0 after dispatching Donovan Mitchell and his gang. I am feeling the potential of this young team led by Shai Gilgeous Alexander. I noticed SGA during the FIBA how careful he was with his shots, especially during crucial times. Now he is averaging 30 plus points and is above 50% on his field goals.

All are talking about Wemby these days and I heard his NBA debut garnered high television ratings with millions of viewers. Meanwhile, Chet Holmgren is doing his thing in OKC well even if he is not the main man. Earlier against the Cavs, he made 7 huge blacks as his team won big in a close entertaining game.
I have not watched their games yet, but it seems like these young OKC team has already a good start... or are they?
They will be facing the Nuggets next. I'm curious on how Holmgren will defend the MVP. How he can stop him, or can he stop him. For sure, Jokic will focus more on passing rather than shooting in the paint because he's against a taller defender than him. He can shoot at perimeter though, but let's see.

SGA is the one that's playing at his best right now, and just by looking at his first 2 games, I think he will likely have a better season than it was last year. This is also the reason why some analysts are predicting that the Thunder will get a higher spot than where they are last season. All eyes now are on Wemby, and they forgot Holmgren which is kind of similar with how Wemby is playing. He's just 2 inches shorter, but both of them are kind of the same in terms of talents.

Tomorrow/Later, they will battle against the Denver Nuggets and this will test them out big time if they will continue that winning streak.
There's also the Sacramento Kings versus the LA Lakers tomorrow, another young promising team. I will definitely not miss this one and I bet it will be a great game to watch and maybe bet a little bit.  Wink
I like the Thunder, but I'd still go with the Nuggets on this one. I don't know how they will stop Jokic. This might end up as a close one, but I go with the Nuggets. As for the Kings, and Lakers, as much as I want the Lakers to win, but they're on the road, and I see the Kings playing better on this one knowing that they just lost against Curry, and the Warriors.

Knicks looked solid on the road against the Hawks here.  The Hawks are missing John Collins this year.  They look like they definately went backwards although jalen johnson looks like he is going to be a player in this league.  Trae looks lost the first 2 games.  Knicks locked him up but he doesn't look season ready yet.

Collins was still adjusting to his new team, and though he struggled a bit with his shooting, he finished with a double-double in their big win against the Clippers. We can't deny that he was a significant part of the Hawks' success in past seasons. But what's done is done; they need to move on and continue making improvements to the team.

Quote
A win is a win, big game tonight on the road again for the Knicks against the Pelicans.
This is gonna be tough,

This should be a great matchup, but I hate to say it, I think the Knicks might lose because they're on a back-to-back game against a well rested Pelicans.

Deep down I figured as much.  On the road back to backs are tough especially against teams like the Pelicans.  The Pelicans are sneaky value to win the chip.  If zion can somehow stay on the court that team is crazy dangerous.  The problem they always have is keeping theor starters on the floor during the season.

He is growing, and maturing, and I think the experience in both NBA and FIBA helped a lot to be on this stage.
Plus, he got good help now from Chet Holmgren, Dort, and Giddey. This is going to be a strong team if OKC will keep that roster. What they need is to build chemistry and soon they will be one of the strong teams in the league.

I think the games are very entertaining already!
Harden and his requests get way too much attention in my opinion. He is not worth the headache anymore, that's why no team is currently trading for him. Even the clippers, even though reported they have some big interest, aren't really making a move to make this trade happen.
His stock is declining day by day an d the longe it takes the smaller a possible trade package will become.

WHo want's to spend role players and picks for that guy, with only 1 year on his deal.

The 76ers should have gotten rid of Harden months ago by accepting the Clippers' offer. However, it looks like the moment is gone, as the Clippers have stopped negotiating this deal after the start of the regular season. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Harden's value on the market drops to the point where no team wants to sign him even next offseason.

If Philly doesn't pull the trigger on a trade, we might see Harden's value take a hit. But we've got to face the fact that he's been a bit of a headache. On the flip side, if they do decide to part ways with him, they could score some quality players in return. The 76ers have already proven they can win without him, and adding more role players to the roster could be a game-changer. Don't expect a one-for-one trade for Harden, though, as none of the current superstars are available. It might be a package deal with some solid role players.

At the moment, there don't appear to be any rumors regarding James Harden, so let's set that conversation aside for now. How about we discuss the games that have concluded, particularly the Suns vs. Jazz game? Durant continues to carry the team, but this time, there's better production from his teammates. I initially thought the Jazz would secure a win after a big victory against the Clippers, but it's becoming clear that the Jazz might not be as strong on the road. The struggle continues for JC, with only 7 points on 3-10 shooting.

Well, it is early into the season and regular games are not that entertaining at this point, so it is not really that shocking to see Harden news becoming this predominant. I think him trying to move teams constantly since his Rockets move is becoming an old news and teams may not want him.

Sixers are probably ok with getting rid of him, hell if Harden agreed to just terminate his contract without anything, Sixers would leave him for free, but Harden wants to be waived, so he wants to both not play for Sixers AND still get paid by Sixers, which they won't do, so they are looking for any trade, picks, young players, other veterans, anyone really to get rid of Harden but at this point nobody wants him at all, he is a locker room trouble.

There are of entertaining games already, haven't you watch any of the games? the Utah Jazz vs Clippers is a very good match to watch, it is very close as if you are watching the playoffs already.

Curry putting on a show against their rival Sacramento Kings.

Luka's 49 point performance against the Nets, and people are saying that he is looking very sharp for a MVP this year.

And then the Raptors vs Bulls, game went into OT, another game with playoff atmosphere, I urge you to watch the highlights of the game and tell me if that is not entertaining.

He probably isn't into the game's storyline, and that's why he concludes it's not entertaining so far. Well, we've got to respect his opinion since we all have different levels of satisfaction. But I'm sure the majority of NBA fans would agree that most of the games we're witnessing now are entertaining to watch. In fact, I believe we have another interesting one coming up ^ the Utah Jazz playing on the road against the Suns. Still no Booker and Beal, but I'm pretty sure this is going to be a display of offense.

And in addition to that, it's also hard to bet on this early games as the favorite handicap could be in the losing end.

I remember the Bucks vs Sixers, opening line is -6.5 for the Bucks because James Harden is not going to play, the Bucks won but by only 1 point. And then the games between the Lakers and the Suns, same line as Booker and Beal is not going to play because of injuries, but the Lakers only won by 5 points as Durant almost singlehandedly gave the Lakers another defeat.

And obviously the game between the Jazz and Clippers as well and if I'm not mistaken, the Clippers in the favorite but they lost the game too.

Well, it's your opinion to tell that it wasn't entertaining, but seeing people getting postered? Threes raining? Dunks everywhere? Block party everywhere? Fans are standing because of their excitement. Isn't that entertaining? Or you are focusing on Harden, so you're saying that it wasn't entertaining still. Tongue

As for the Sixers, they want to maximize Harden. If Harden will not play, his value will get affected, and knowing that no teams are currently not interested in him right now, worse case is that his career might end next year. Of course there might be some teams who will try and get him, but they are into the point that they will not sacrifice that much assets for a player who has a lot of drama around him. In the end, Harden will lose on this one, and I just hope that he will get traded into a championship contender team, but which team wants him at first place? Cheesy

How about GSW domination of the Kings at their homecourt? They started hot and they slowly built a huge lead in the 2rd quarter with their second unit. But they started to relax in the 3rd quarter and then the Kings cut it to single digits in the 4th.

But then again, Steph with his dagger three. He leads all scorer with 41 big points. CP3 also contributed big with 12 assists to go with 10 points.

So their fluidity is very high with CP3 and then just imagine if Draymond will come back as another play maker for them.

The Warriors have only played 2 games so far this regular season, but I think we can already say that Paul has been a good addition for them, considering that he had 9 assists in the first game and 12 assists in the second game. I'm more than sure that the performance of players like Curry, Thompson, and Wiggins will be even better if Paul continues to perform well throughout the regular season.

CP3 has always been a valuable addition to any team. He doesn't necessarily need to score a lot; his high basketball IQ makes his teammates better. Given that the Warriors are composed of sharpshooters, CP3 seems like an ideal fit for the team. Now, all we can hope for is that he remains healthy, as he could be a crucial asset in the playoffs and potentially help them seek redemption if they face the Lakers again.

In their recent game, CP3 notched a double-double with 12 assists and 10 points. His shooting has improved, and it's great to see him trust Curry and the team's 3-point prowess. Speaking of which, Curry had a fantastic night, going 7 of 10 from beyond the arc  ^^^ classic Curry!

And most likely that's what Steve Kerr saw in CP3, he can still be valuable as his basketball IQ can't be match. There are several plays wherein a rookie guarded him, and he took that rookie to school, but scoring and forcing him to commit a foul.

Curry really loves to play at Sacramento, their domestic rival and proved that the Warriors are still the team to beat in the conference.

Klay and Kuminga too had great games, thanks to CP3 assists to keep them going.

Another good game as well is the Jazz vs Clippers, very close game, and it has the playoff atmosphere. Jordan Clarkson and Markkanen did it for the Jazz. Clarkson hit that 3, pressure laden shot but he makes it to give them the lead for good.

The Clippers has time tough, but Kawhi took to much time to dribble and make his last shot, fumble the ball and then pass it to WB, airballing it. Not sure what's wrong with the Clippers though, they have a solid line up with Kawhi and Paul George, but it seems there's no chemistry whatsoever, as far as I can see.

Clarkson didn't have the best performance in this game, struggling with his shooting at 4-13 and only managing to score 13 points throughout the game. However, he showed his clutch ability with that last shot that changed the game completely. Clarkson seems to thrive under pressure and always steps up during crucial moments. Without hesitation, he took the shot, and bang! A beautiful 3-pointer.

The game was a close one, and either team could have won. Ultimately, it came down to defense, but since both teams are strong offensively, we witnessed a high-scoring battle. As for me, I didn't mind the Jazz losing, especially since they covered the spread.

And that counts, even if he struggles, he made the shot that matters most, which is the 3 with just a few seconds left for the Clippers, and then they play defense one last time. Yeah, it's anybody's ball game at that point, but the Clippers missed their last shot. As for the Clippers, they just need to execute, and not purely one on one on the case of George and Kawhi and even WestBrook.

@inthelongrun - Yes SGA is a killer and I think he has entered his prime years with OKC. But still they really need to work very hard to gain respect in the West. Chet should do his thing as a rookie and shouldn't be bothered by all the attention his co-rookie is getting. Just play and proved his detractors wrong (they said that he is overrated).
