From being the hottest team last year to the most undiscussed team this season.
Memphis Grizzlies.
4 more games before Ja Morant's suspension will be lifted. 25 games were given to him. They are now in the 13th spot of the Western Conference rankings tied with the Portland Trail Blazers. Later, they will have a game against an undermanned team Dallas Mavericks. But even with that, I still doubt the Grizzlies can win this game. Although they successfully defeated them at their last meeting, that's a Luka-less team so it's difficult to believe they can win tonight with Luka leading the Mavs.
Anyway here is an update about Ja Morant.
Ja Morant suspension: Adam Silver says Grizzlies star has 'complied with everything' ahead of returnhttps://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ja-morant-suspension-adam-silver-says-grizzlies-star-has-complied-with-everything-ahead-of-return/NBA commissioner Adam Silver told reporters on Saturday that he's planning to meet with Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant ahead of the All-Star's return from his 25-game suspension. Silver said that Morant, who is eligible to return on Dec. 19, has 'complied with everything' the league has asked of him.
"Yes, I have been monitoring the situation closely, and him. In fact, we intend to have a check-in this week directly, Ja and I. But folks in the league office, together with Ja and his team and the Players Association, have been in regular contact, essentially weekly. There have been those checkpoints.
"We've, together, laid out a program for him over the last several weeks, and to the best of my knowledge, he's complied with everything he's been asked to do. As I said, we'll talk at least once this week before he comes back, and we will review the program and make sure the conditions are in place for him to be successful going forward."
Ja was suspended for 8 games only, but he repeated his mistake so Commissioner Adam Silver decided to make it 25 games suspension.
Grizzlies will probably not be a good team yet when he comes back. More than a chemistry problem that they need to restart, they have lots of injured key players on their roster. Steven Adams is out for surgery, Brandon Clarke has his Achilles torn, Luke Kennard needs 3 weeks of healing of his left knee bone bruise, and they don't have Dillon Brooks anymore. There's a chance they will not make the playoffs this season unless Ja Morant comes back as a monster.
