First half ain’t looking so good for the Lakers. This is especially bad because in Denver opposing teams get tired fast so the Lakers have an uphill battle ahead of them. I think Anthony Davis is looking great on defense and LeBron looks pretty good, the rest of the team doesn’t seem to be playing very smart on offense though.

NBA basketball is on TV tonight! It’s back baby!
I was so excited, but when I read the article about Bradley Beal (back) being unlikely to play in the opener against the Warriors, as per Shams, my excitement disappeared and turned into disappointment. This is so disappointing because some fans might say that if Bradley Beal had played, the Suns would have surely won in case the Warriors won. Since Bradley Beal will not play tonight, I'm going to pick the Warriors.

I’m not sure the Suns need Bradley Beal to beat the Warriors. However, I also don’t think the Suns have had enough time playing together to be able to beat a team with as much history playing together as Golden State. I really don’t know which way to bet this one, but I’m leaning towards the Suns. The Denver/LA matchup is another tricky one, but I’m leaning Denver.

I think Denver takes this one by double digits.  Think it's also going to come in with a low score.  Something like 112-100.  I think the over under is around 228.  I can see the Lakers coming out of the gate slow.  Lebron and crew get better as the year settles in.  Maybe I'm off but that's what I'm banking on.  Think the Suns game actually ends up being the game that comes down to the final minute.  Just hole we get some good games out of tonight.

They have a huge lead entering the 2nd quarter. It looks like the Lakers are still making some adjustments as they have a lot of new players in their roster trying to read the new plays. As usual Jokic started like just like year and with 10 points already.

Oh, that's too bad to hear that Beal is not going to play at the opener of this season. I guess everyone here is excited to see him with Phoenix and how he will blend with KD and Book. So we need to wait, and with that, I'm not surprised that the Warriors are favorite going into this game.

So Warriors -2.5 @1.88.

But when it comes to popularity, I don't think he'll surpass LeBron and other Hall of Famers.
I don't think he will last 10 years in the league to even be in the conversation of top players but maybe he could be as popular as Yao Ming. Remember him? I will consider Wemby as lucky if he could last more than 5 years playing the game competitively. He is quite agile for his size and aggressive as well so that may take a toll on his body sooner than he expects.
Yao Ming, yes. I will never forget that dude. The one who was blocked by Nate Robinson. Cheesy Just kidding. I do remember him being one of the best duo in the Houston Rockets with Tracy McGrady. He was there when Tracy made the 13 points come back in just 33 seconds.
But Yao lacks the inside power although I think the era that he entered is filled with inside players like Shaq. This time with Wemby there are not much centers who are playing defensively to act against him. If we name them, they can be counted on our hand fingers. Rudy, Ayton, Lopez, Jackson Jr. (ain't a center), and Claxton.

2 games later baby. Finally, the regular season tipoff.
Place your bets guys and share it on the other thread created by Sir @stadus. NBA betting. Will tail it if I find it interesting. Also, it's open to player props bets and bet builders. Good luck guys and enjoy the games.

One of the best blocks in history.  I mean not much significance but seeing Lil nate get up and mush Yao was amazing.  Probably because it was a dark time in knick Fandom amd little things like that stood out.  But seriously if no one has seen that give it a Google well worth the 10 second clip.  Thanks for the reminder Smiley

I think he surpassed that hype of Lebron James. Oh, and there's Zion Williamson too, he made a lot of noise before and after the NBA draft pick but the curse of the first pick may have gotten into him. Injuries over and over again, I think Lebron James was the only one in the first round and first pick that I saw who was successful in his career and also avoided injuries and that's also one of the big reasons why his name exploded off the charts because of his presence in most of his career games and taking care of himself.

True, Wemby is flexible. He can shoot he can drive and I was actually shocked he can also crossover, it's going to be difficult for any defensive coach to handle this man because of his different offensive weapons. I think all he needs is more experience so he can use those skills for hesitation moves. Unpredictability will always be a good weapon too for a NBA player to be successful in his career. Polishing all those abilities will be the work of San Antonio Spurs trainers.
Zion did made hype but neither it was as big as Lebron and Wemby, nor people expected him to stay healthy neither, even before he got to league he kept getting injured, his situation could be compared to Greg Oden to be fair, he didn't had much playing time and still do not have much and just looks to be a career of "what could have been" type of deal. He is still young and he could make a comeback too, look at Embiid, dude missed his early years but now an MVP player, I would say Jokic deserved it more but Embiid got one too.

So all in all either Zion will be like Oden or will be like Embiid, lets see. Yet, I still think that nobody in the world got as much hype as Wemby since Lebron James came to league. We are already expecting Wemby to be MVP level player, and anything less than that would be bad for him, I do not remember the last player that had "at least one MVP" type of expectations, that is a huge achievement and it would be dissapointment if he DIDN'T win it.

There are a lot of people who don’t know why Dwight Howard was all but blackballed from the NBA. His behavior around men in and outside the locker room is the answer. According to his recent lawsuit proceedings, Dwight Howard not only lured a man to his home for sex, but he also surprised him with another man expecting a threesome.

On the one hand, big size is a significant advantage on the court. On the other hand, it's a disadvantage because big guys like that are usually injury-prone. As for Yao, his NBA career was concise due to injuries. He played only 7 seasons, but that was more than enough to make him a member of the Hall of Fame. Let me remind you of his second game against the Lakers, during which he made 6 blocks, including 3 blocks to Shaq. At that time, Yao was probably the only player in the NBA who could create difficulties for Shaq in the paint.
My impressions of Victor are similar now. He also has great promise, but no one knows when his body will give out.

NBA basketball is on TV tonight! It’s back baby! The offseason seemed like a flash with all the trades and team ups. Looks like the big outstanding question left over is the outcome of the James Harden situation. Seems like he might start the year off pouting and being missing from team activities. Not a good look for Harden or the NBA.

For now its early to tell we only see him play on pre-season which players is putting all their efforts because they are avoiding early injury. But if he could able to play long games and stay healthy for the span of 5 years then bring another championship to Spurs maybe this could be his ticket to be listed as Hall of famer for Spurs. We can all agree that Wemby is phenomenal talent and its just he need to keep his physical health at upper most level so he can unlock all the potential he have and be a dominant player on NBA. For sure many are looking forward for him to dominate since he's been so hype for couple of years and he translate all of it on preseason so this coming opening for sure many of his fans would really watch his first regular game on NBA and see if he can able to compete on real physical game brought up by those though defenders.

Just one more sleep until NBA basketball kicks off. I think with the Damian Lillard trade the Bucks became the team to beat in the East and I think the pickup of Bradley Beal makes the Suns the team to beat in the West. I think the Warriors will have another good year along with the Celtics and Nuggets, but I think the Bucks take home the crown this year.

It's going to be a good NBA season. We've seen the Bucks getting Dame, and they are already a powerful team in the East already. But with a Lillard acquisition they again put themselves on the top of the favorites. But they still have the Sixers with the reigning MVP to contend, although the dram surrounding James Harden might have a impact on them. Celtics too, get one of the best defensive guards on Jrue Holiday from the Bucks and with Tatum and Brown hitting their prime years. they are another team to watch out. Although I will say that once weakness could be their coach, but we will see.

In the West, I will go with the Suns and the Nuggets as well. Book + KD + Beal, they have their own version now of big 3. But then again, the Nuggets as reigning champion still has the momentum from last year as their core is still intact.

It is less than 24 hours before the start of the games. We're expecting another good season. We also have good opening games. I already have bets on Denver Nuggets -5.5 and Phoenix Suns ML.

For me, it is a toss-up between the Bucks and the Celtics in the East. But in the West, I slightly favor the defending champs, the Nuggets. Though it lost some good role players in the summer, I still pick the Denver Nuggets since the core remains the same and it is already proven while the Suns, Bucks, and Celtics have yet to show us something that they are indeed better teams than the previous season.

The Bucks will surely be capable of reaching back to the NBA finals if they stay healthy throughout this season because they are currently the best team in the East right now and all other strong teams are in the West. If they still having a hard time getting to the NBA playoffs with this roster, then it would be another battle for them to fix their management because a super team such as this one is expected to dominate the Eastern Conference and get to the NBA finals easily.
And to add some fire into it, Giannis already signed a 3-year extension worth $186M, and he will stay with the Bucks.
https://www.nba.com/news/bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo-extension

This is what I'm saying when "One trade can change everything". Just imagine back when Giannis is kind of threatening the Bucks' front office saying that he will leave the team if they will not compete with the title. Then they got Lillard, and that changes everything including his mindset. Now they are the favorites to win the title already just because they got Dame. The East isn't as loaded with the West, and with Dame going to the East, that makes the East better knowing that Commissioner Adam Silver is thinking of putting back the East Vs. West format in the all-star game. Nonetheless, that trade changes everything not only for the Bucks, but for the whole NBA.

Overall, I expect them to be a good duo, but I would want to see who will be their 3rd player of the team to complete that "Big 3". Middleton maybe is the best fit, but nonetheless, the team's gonna be in the NBA Finals, unless injury spoils it. That's my prediction only.

So, that means he's going to be raking in $62 million annually, making him the top earner in the NBA as this list will change.
https://hoopshype.com/salaries/players/

Giannis made a pretty smart move here. I'm guessing he must have been seriously impressed by Lillard's performance during the season Grin, which is why he decided to lock in that contract extension just a day before the regular season kicked off.

Making that sure money while working his way to create that great combination between him and Lilard, though we didn't see any
special out from Lilard during the pre-season games,

But I believe that Giannis sees something, and he believes that it's worth to take that risk pairing with Lilard and be as competitive as they can this
coming season.

He must have really thought this through before making a decision. He was offered a massive contract, and it's just for three years, so he won't be locked in for too long. And of course, the chance to play with Lillard, a bona fide superstar, is an opportunity Giannis hasn't had before. This is a bit of a gamble to see if their partnership will work, but even if it doesn't, he won't really lose out, considering the huge amount of money he's already secured.

Not that hard to assume that the chance of them moving back to the finals is really possible, if that new duo will showcase there
offensive capabilities and manage to support each other inside the court. They can bring more excitement to the fans and viewers.

They became the heavy favorite to win the championship when the trade news about Lillard came out. But now, they are only slightly behind the Celtics, with a very minimal difference. So, in terms of their chances of making it to the Finals, they seem to have a good shot. Bookmakers wouldn't set odds like that if they didn't believe they had a strong chance.

He's got a long reach and those blocks on the air were truly incredible. That defense and offense stats that he's going to contribute for the Spurs is going to be one big thing for the team.

Just more time in the league and experience and he'll be like an unbeatable foe for most of the teams and its superstars.

He's still got a lot to go but the kid's potential is seriously making the attention already and we'll see more during this actual start of the season.

Considering he's still young and in his rookie year, we can look forward to more improvement from him as long as he stays healthy. It's quite rare to see a rookie this dominant. But when it comes to popularity, I don't think he'll surpass LeBron and other Hall of Famers. Wemby is like a walking cheat code with his towering height, which can make the game seem uneven and, to some extent, less exciting to watch.

Spurs on the other hand had nothing and when Wemby came in the hype was so high that he suddenly became their superstar although we haven't seen him facing the real game, the playoffs. We are just using the preseason game as the basis and I think that's not enough to conclude this comparison.

Man, the hype around Wemby is off the charts! He's been straight-up killing it in the preseason, and I won't be shocked if he keeps that fire going in the regular season. My only concern is the potential for injuries, especially for a big guy like him who's hustling on both ends of the floor.

True, one of the biggest hype for a rookie maybe since Lebron James. And in the pre-season games, we've seen why. He is putting numbers like that, and giving up some highlight dunks too. And you can see the reaction of the crowd. Obviously, there are a lot of fans that are going to follow him. And most likely defensive coach are now putting some plans on how to stop this young man. But it's going to be a difficult task as he has a lot of moves. For his size and those feet? yes, no one can stop him one one one.
I think he surpassed that hype of Lebron James.
