True, Wemby is flexible. He can shoot he can drive and I was actually shocked he can also crossover, it's going to be difficult for any defensive coach to handle this man because of his different offensive weapons. I think all he needs is more experience so he can use those skills for hesitation moves. Unpredictability will always be a good weapon too for a NBA player to be successful in his career. Polishing all those abilities will be the work of San Antonio Spurs trainers.

Considering he's still young and in his rookie year, we can look forward to more improvement from him as long as he stays healthy. It's quite rare to see a rookie this dominant. But when it comes to popularity, I don't think he'll surpass LeBron and other Hall of Famers. Wemby is like a walking cheat code with his towering height, which can make the game seem uneven and, to some extent, less exciting to watch.

Spurs on the other hand had nothing and when Wemby came in the hype was so high that he suddenly became their superstar although we haven't seen him facing the real game, the playoffs. We are just using the preseason game as the basis and I think that's not enough to conclude this comparison.

Man, the hype around Wemby is off the charts! He's been straight-up killing it in the preseason, and I won't be shocked if he keeps that fire going in the regular season. My only concern is the potential for injuries, especially for a big guy like him who's hustling on both ends of the floor.

True, one of the biggest hype for a rookie maybe since Lebron James. And in the pre-season games, we've seen why. He is putting numbers like that, and giving up some highlight dunks too. And you can see the reaction of the crowd. Obviously, there are a lot of fans that are going to follow him. And most likely defensive coach are now putting some plans on how to stop this young man. But it's going to be a difficult task as he has a lot of moves. For his size and those feet? yes, no one can stop him one one one.
I think he surpassed that hype of Lebron James. Oh, and there's Zion Williamson too, he made a lot of noise before and after the NBA draft pick but the curse of the first pick may have gotten into him. Injuries over and over again, I think Lebron James was the only one in the first round and first pick that I saw who was successful in his career and also avoided injuries and that's also one of the big reasons why his name exploded off the charts because of his presence in most of his career games and taking care of himself.

Just one more sleep until NBA basketball kicks off. I think with the Damian Lillard trade the Bucks became the team to beat in the East and I think the pickup of Bradley Beal makes the Suns the team to beat in the West. I think the Warriors will have another good year along with the Celtics and Nuggets, but I think the Bucks take home the crown this year.

The Bucks will surely be capable of reaching back to the NBA finals if they stay healthy throughout this season because they are currently the best team in the East right now and all other strong teams are in the West. If they still having a hard time getting to the NBA playoffs with this roster, then it would be another battle for them to fix their management because a super team such as this one is expected to dominate the Eastern Conference and get to the NBA finals easily.
And to add some fire into it, Giannis already signed a 3-year extension worth $186M, and he will stay with the Bucks.
https://www.nba.com/news/bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo-extension

This is what I'm saying when "One trade can change everything". Just imagine back when Giannis is kind of threatening the Bucks' front office saying that he will leave the team if they will not compete with the title. Then they got Lillard, and that changes everything including his mindset. Now they are the favorites to win the title already just because they got Dame. The East isn't as loaded with the West, and with Dame going to the East, that makes the East better knowing that Commissioner Adam Silver is thinking of putting back the East Vs. West format in the all-star game. Nonetheless, that trade changes everything not only for the Bucks, but for the whole NBA.

Overall, I expect them to be a good duo, but I would want to see who will be their 3rd player of the team to complete that "Big 3". Middleton maybe is the best fit, but nonetheless, the team's gonna be in the NBA Finals, unless injury spoils it. That's my prediction only.

So, that means he's going to be raking in $62 million annually, making him the top earner in the NBA as this list will change.

Giannis made a pretty smart move here. I'm guessing he must have been seriously impressed by Lillard's performance during the season Grin, which is why he decided to lock in that contract extension just a day before the regular season kicked off.

Yes, and so the games are:

Nuggets vs the Lakers - going to be a great game for sure. We all know that this two has been building rivalries, specially that they have face off during the West finals. And there has been a lot of trash talking ever since.

Warriors vs the Suns - we are going to see CP3 against his former team, sure they could be a lot hugs before the game, but it's going to be competitive. Also Durant, who says that he is looking for the game because he was a former Warrior and he knows that he still has some fans in that city.

NBA higher ups really know what people want to see. These 2 games will be fire!
What I don't quite understand is, why are they making 2 wester conference games instead of 1 east and 1 west?

Anyway, the lineup for tomorrow though is very strong and promising.
Basically (the) 4 western conference contenders facing each other . Also a lot of history between them with CP3 and KD having played in the other team.

Living in Japan has a good advantage for me, I can watch all the games in the morning. Euroleague and so on is always late at night but now the NBA is back and I have a good reason to get out of bed.  Grin

It's going to be a good NBA season. We've seen the Bucks getting Dame, and they are already a powerful team in the East already. But with a Lillard acquisition they again put themselves on the top of the favorites. But they still have the Sixers with the reigning MVP to contend, although the dram surrounding James Harden might have a impact on them. Celtics too, get one of the best defensive guards on Jrue Holiday from the Bucks and with Tatum and Brown hitting their prime years. they are another team to watch out. Although I will say that once weakness could be their coach, but we will see.

In the West, I will go with the Suns and the Nuggets as well. Book + KD + Beal, they have their own version now of big 3. But then again, the Nuggets as reigning champion still has the momentum from last year as their core is still intact.

Well, it's easy to conclude as well just because it's just a preseason but I think Wembanyama has lot of potential to still improve his performance. Yeah, it's still not the real deal and their current roster aren't that playoffs contender and I do hope this kid will be surrounded on those who will help him to achieve it. In my opinion, I think he needs to work with those muscle even if he had that IQ and height, a strong body core has still use on the court.
The Spurs have good, and talented young players, but their current roster isn't enough for them to at least clinch into the playoffs, but I expect them to be better now than last season.

Just imagine how loaded the West where they are now. Nuggets, Warriors, Suns, Lakers, Clippers, young Thunder, Kings. Just look at the West right now, and I will not be surprised if the standings will be as tight as it was last season. As for Wemby, future is bright for that kiddo as long as he doesn't get injured especially we know that players on that height are more prone to injuries especially on the knee to the foot injuries.

I don't know though who are the players that are considered "developing" with the team, since the roster is too young, and not that familiar except for that veterans out there. I'm excited with this Spurs team though. Smiley

Can't expect them to perform very well this season knowing as you said they are young and might they might feel the real pressure when facing those veterans but once they gain a lot of experience especially when they can able to reach on playoffs then for sure they can be develop with that and also they are in the right team so most provably they can reach there potentials if they are also cooperative with the coaches who develop them as a good player. Now Spurs is candy of an eye to the fans knowing that Wemby is on their team so for sure there's a lot of noise will be created with this especially when he face those vets and other more stars like Lebron,Giannis or even those star which is his match up since many would able to see how Wemby could possible dominate the league.

I just watched a video Giannis distributed his freak fives to his teammates and all that I've seen was determined faces and words like "we'll do great this season".

Lowkey words but I guess that you're right that they're likely to take the ring this year.

I can't wait for that to happen that although there have been a lot of trade rumors with Dame and he's now with the Bucks, Giannis surely want one as well for both of them.

Bucks yeah good possibility, but if the Suns still can't beat the Nuggets, i have Jokic and Murray repeating this year, probably.
The only thing that really bothers me about the Nuggets making a repeat is Jokic. The guy looks like he's about to lose focus on his basketball career as he got so hooked up with horses lol.
I don't know, maybe it's just me or he is really lossing focus. Well, I hope he'll still play at an MVP level.

On the other hand, between the Bucks and the Suns, I'd take Bucks all day.

Have any of you seen the most recent beats commercial that features LeBron? Crazy how his wife Savannah has a message for him to not stop playing until he got their 2 sons play along with him in the NBA lol. LeBron will be like almost 45 if Bryce is lucky to get drafted early in his career.

I'm leaning that way too.  Until someone can figure out how to stop jokic I can't see them losing a 7 game series.  I do want to see them fave the Bucks because they actually match up well now on them. Also looking forward to seeing some of the younger teams take that next step like okc...and finally just want to see my knicks take another positive step forward.  Q Grimes has to have a breakout year for them to take another step I'm thinking

Let's see how Wemby reacts when there will be critics on his neck. t some point that's coming.
He got a good father figure in coach Pop to motivate him to work on his game when dragged down and also to keep him in check when his head gets big from the praises or hype. He had an interview when Pop yelled at him but he liked it. Wemby looks like a good student guided by one of the best in industry.

He better be careful because he's the main man for the Spurs now. Without him, all that promise they've shown might just go down the drain, and you know they'll start tanking for sure.

Hype really is getting out of hands.
Scrolling through facebook or instagram I all the time see pictures and reels about him. Like the block against Wiggins and also the jumper against him. Of course he looks good but they take it way to far. Still those were preseason games, not more and not less.

Of course he can surprise everybody and keeping this kind of strong performance up and let him have a strecht of a couple of bad games, the haters will jump off the band wagon real quick. Even Lebron was called overrated sometimes in the bigging, yet he showed them all.

I agree that the hype is getting out of hand and I also can't help but join the hype. Not that I am doing anything actual but Wemby is just better than most people expected. I mean expectations were too high last year already but he came and bam he could score 20 points in pre-season easily. His moves and his shots seem great. He seems like a hardworker and he seems like adjusting the Nba fast. Spurs fans couldn't ask for more right now. Of course it is highly debatable what he can do in the playoffs, noone can know. But even though expectations were high of him, he could be performing bad right now, in his first NBA games, but he seems quite great. This is the fact that fuelling the hype IMO.

A few days of rest before the official start of the NBA regular season. So it seems like almost all of the teams are ready except for those rebuilding teams and the unstable Philadelphia 76ers who still have Harden but made a personal excuse to leave its training camp.

The start of the season always excites me as teams will try their best to start strong. It enables them to observe if they need some trades before the deadline and necessary adjustments.

As we've seen, Victor Wembanyama is NBA-ready and so is Chet Holmgren although the latter seems to have better teammates so the stats might favor the former. But it will be very interesting to see these 2 giant prospects.

Finally, Chet Holmgren gets a chance to shine since he's back to full health. His rookie season was a bummer due to injuries, but now he's ready to roll. With Wemby also have his debut, they're both bigs, so it'll be interesting to see if Chet can create his own name. They faced off in the preseason, and we got a taste of who's got the edge, but let's wait for the regular season. Chet might surprise us and outdo Wemby in the stats department.

I'm super excited about the new season. We missed the NBA after a boring NBA Finals, so here's hoping for a much better one this time – a series that goes all the way to Game 7, not a quick 4-1 or 4-0 sweep.

I believe they are 50/50 playing against each other. I think Chet is more mature and a little stronger but he is more prone to injury. And Wemby is still 19 compared to Chet who's already 21 so the kid's body is still changing.

Here is their latest duel during the preseason where they lead each other's team score. I really hope both of them stay healthy in their career. I won't be surprised if Chet leads the stats even if Shai is the OKC's main man. Wemby just has the advantage since all eyes in San Antonio are on him.

That's why many team are now looking for a legit center so that they can defend Wemby in paint. They provably watch how GSW got dominated by him in defensive end that's why they try to adjust base to what talent Spurs have. If Wemby will be more mature and got a lot of experience on NBA for sure became more scarier than we thought, since its hard to stop this guy with a 8 feet wingspan and can able to shoot outside and have a guard skill set.

For sure he will be the target of physicality on regular season so he need to prepare that so he can have good action if he face a badass opponent that want to get his head.
