After being miserable in the first 3 quarters scoring only 1 point, he scored 18 points in the 4th quarter, and he scored 13 in the 14-1 run in the final minutes of the game to win on the road 95-86.
The Celtics lead most of the game with the highest lead of 16 in the 2nd quarter, but the Sixers cut it in the 3rd quarter, and got the lead in the 3rd, and 4th. It was a see-saw battle until Tatum's threes. Points on the Celtics has been spread, and it's unusual to see a low scoring game like this coming from the Celtics who is one of the top in terms of three-point attempts. Anyway, they forced a Game 7 on their home. It's a do-or- die for both teams. Sixer fans out there are frustrated and disappointed on what they saw. Harden, Embiid, and Maxey played more than 40 minutes, but it wasn't enough for them to close the series.
You are right, Tatum's performance in the last quarter was special.
Though, his performance in the first 3 was far from that.
Anyway, this series is really good going back and forth. I thought after losing yet another game at home this would be it for Boston but I was very wrong. Bringing the series back to Boston for game 7 is great for the fans, but bad for Philly. This was their chance. I don't see Boston giving up another home loss in this one.
But since they got them MVP we never know what to expect. Maybe they can pull off another upset. I would prefer Boston though, personally not a Fan of Embiid and Harden.
Tatum was able to salvage his reputation in that game. Although he didn't score well throughout, he displayed his MVP form when it mattered the most, leading the team to a significant win in the fourth quarter. The series will now head to a game 7, but we cannot be certain about the Celtics' chances of winning, as the 76ers are a formidable team and have already secured two victories on the road.
