I agree it is too early to draw conclusions, as the decline in January has been going on for several years, there may not be a repeat of 2017, but I hope the year will give good results for the crypto as a whole.
Several years? as far as I know, we started moving downward in early 2018 and right now we are in Q1 2018. Which means, it is only a year of time. Did not know that we were on the decline for a couple years.
About our future, if we are talking about our history. More likely this year, the price will start to recover its price. Just like before when Bitcoin got dumped so hard in 2014 and 2015 the price started to recover some of its value.
Thinking about 2019, of course, we will have new hopes that the crypto market will rise. However, compared to 2017, I think 2017 is still the best. But by 2019 we must be sure that the condition will slowly recover.

I think that Hard fork will affect the price of Ethereum, in my opinion, as Ethereum is popular but I heard that it will be just an update and a little later there will be another fork which will affect the growth even more ! On account of ETF, I can not say anything because the SEC is constantly shifting the date of the decision. The next decision date will be in February.

My suggestion is don't listen to all of the news because some of that news is only makes you panic. You'd better search the other news, or you can make a comparison between that news. I don't want to make a speculation about what will happen next because I see that the speculation will not work with right and we could miss the best time buy and sell the coins. It is better for us to spend the time to learn about the market so we can know when the time to enter the market.
I think it will not be this year.

No, i don't think 2019 will be better than 2017. It is too soon to speculate that 2019 is going to be better. And we don't know if we have reach the bottom or not.

one thing for sure with 2019, it might be better than 2018 but not good with 2017, just saying though, im still in a doubt with this year, the beginning of the year should be what everyone has been expecting, a bullrun but it didnt happen and the worst of it was, it just gotten worst, the market and all the coins.

I really want to believe that 2019 will be better than 2018. But I do not believe that we will have the same chance as in 2017.
I don't expect such a wild bullish rally to happen this year. It will be much calmer (though rather bullish) market this year than in 2017.
Something tells me there won't be a year like 2017, ever. We got overoptimistic back then. But this year, I hope, will be at least bullish. Because many already started to predict it to be bearish again.
I think there is a lot to look forward to this year. Blockchain is becoming more widely adopted and we're seeing some enterprises want their stake in the space. The real crypto enthusiasts however will withhold the true purpose for blockchain technology in the first place; decentralization, transparency, security and P2P.
