After the bad results in a row, the Turkish football federation dismissed the coach Şenol Güneş. He did poorly in groups at Euro 2020 and at WCQ. The latest 6-1 defeat against the Netherlands prepared the end of Güneş. Until the next Turkey - Norway match, the search began to bring a good coach to the team.
Wouldn't it be a bit too late for them to look for one now? I mean the morale in the team must be really low right now so I don't think a replacement could do them any good but I still believe in upsets in sports.

Congratulations to Leo Messi, he just passed Pele and became the most goalscorer in South America in national teams. It was a nice hat-trick against Bolivia, he just showed still how hungry he is. Brasil and Argentina's positions are almost guaranteed at this point, they will get the ticket eventually.
Yes. Congratulations to @Argentina on winning Copa America and the long-awaited title. A beautiful goal from Messi!
Now I want Brazil vs Argentina.  Cheesy

He came to the end of his career and helped the team win a cup. There are very few experienced and star players in the Argentina team. Although Aguero and Di Maria played well enough, Aguero is often injured. Moreover, their defense is very weak. Winning the title with such a team was not easy. Congratulations to Messi, he has done a great job.

Well Turkey has been playing really bad in the EUROs and the WCQ currently. Before the EURO started Turkey played probobly the best football and i really had high hopes for them to make a good result in the EUROs.Something happened there and the change of the coach needed to happen.Hopefully they start playing better now.

I hope this is just a temporary dip in form. Turkey is the same team which surprised everyone a few months ago, when they defeated Netherlands. But the form went down after that and the 6-1 defeat against the same opponents this week was perhaps the lowest point. But I would caution them against over-reacting. If you look at the points table, it can be seen that Turkey may still qualify for the world cup. For that they need to perform well in the remaining matches. However, if there is no stability in the team, how they are going to perform?

It took some times to see that happening at the end eventually.. Hopefully such change might make the team play better tactically Undecided

The fact that he can still replicate his form at 34years old is something most top players don’t do. I think Meesi will score more goals this coming two seasons because he will not have to worry more about progressing the ball like he was doing in Barcelona where he had to do everything.
With Mbappe, Neymar and the others, it will be a challenge who will score more there.
There is no doubt that Messi is still fit and if there is something that changed in PSG is the fact that he can count on his teammates way more than in Barca Wink

Next games are a month away at least, that means that we have enough time to assess how the players are doing, injuries and all that. Sure it looks like there are some teams that look better than they are so far, and there are teams who underachieved compared to what they have. However considering teams just got out of Europe cup and then went straight into the season, there was a very little time to rest.

This usually means either there are players with fatigue that play, or there are injured players, or there are even a few that just declined to go, they wanted to take this time and rest. Which is why I personally believe that before we can judge what will happen in a month, we need to first wait and see how it is going, if we have the rosters in our hands a day before the games start then we could totally make a better judgment over who may win.

The expectations come true and Şenol Güneş era is over. Okan Buruk will be new manager of Turkish national team. I hope he can find a way to beat Norway in October, first of all it is very important to focus on this match and get three points, then he can focus on technical problems later. If we can't beat Norway it's impossible to qualify to 2022 World Cup.

If you think about it, not every team that reaches the final did well in group stages. In fact, very seldom do you see a final where the team that got there got perfect in group stages. My theory is that if you have a really tough time in group, you don't get overconfident in the KO stages. Look at England having really narrow 1-0 wins and still looking quite wobbly.

Look at Portugal, at Euro 2016. They drew all the group games, and I only won one game during the 90 minutes, the other games were all won in the long run or in penalties. And he was the winner of Euro 2016. Of course it was a difficult feat to repeat, but it really can happen.

I can't remember which world cup Qualifier was it (probably 2014), Czech ranked #2 in the world cup Qualifier match, they performed very well but they got out of the tournament at the group stage. I don’t think they are going to defeat Wales. Wales will dominate the match; at least a tidy match & probably a narrow win.

It is very important for the players to be mentally strong to perform well. Moreover, it is important to have a good understanding between the players of the team. We can look at the France team as an example. I think France has the most star players in the world. Yet their performance has repeatedly disappointed me. They also failed to see a good performance in the Euro Cup. The main reason for this is that the players do not understand each other well.

You made a good point there is another reason why some teams dont perform well in the group stage is because they dont get on the competion rythm from the first game even when they have the potential and a strong squad but and in many cases they lose the first game and they make it far in the competion and thats a goood quality it shows how strong mentally the team is.

The first few games in group stages are the toughest. From there, the knockout rounds are a little easier. Obviously, teams are playing against stronger opponents from other groups, but at this stage luck plays an increasingly important role.

Lionel Messi has finally broken Pele's international record of most goals by a South American player after scoring a bewitching hat-trick against Bolivia. His 7th hattrick for Argentina, 55th Hattrick of the Career, 79th goal for Argentina, 751 goals in career and 315 assists. The man with the most goal contributions in football history. This is just too much for a person. The fact that he can still replicate his form at 34years old is something most top players don’t do. I think Meesi will score more goals this coming two seasons because he will not have to worry more about progressing the ball like he was doing in Barcelona where he had to do everything. But in Paris Saint Germans he will have a strong midfield capable of doing that.

Netherlands completely obliterated Turkey by a 6-1 score. It is a very embarrassing result for Turkey. I really don't know what happened to them. They were performing awesome before the Euro 2020. But something happened as of that tournament and here we are. Actually, they have powerful and talented players. Their game plan is just not working now. Maybe they can solve the problem with a better manager.
Neither me can understand what's going on there.. I can understand such result when facing Gibraltar, San Marino, Liechtenstein or some weak Eastern Europe countries but for Turkey, it is weird to see them failing but embarrassing themselves with such humiliating score is another achievement Lips sealed
France made it finally and Denmark + Norway demolished their opponents. Depay and Haaland made a hat-trick today.
For Wednesday's games they aren't that top with clear advantage for top teams imo.

The first two places in Group G will belong to the Netherlands and Norway. We can look at this with certainty. Turkey can even fall behind Montenegro and finish its group in 4th place. In the last matches, they started to play very badly in a way that I don't understand. When I look at the quality of the players, they have quality defenders such as Söyüncü, Demiral and Kabak. Offensive, they have trump cards like Yazıcı, Ünder and Burak.  Yet they suffered a sensational defeat by the Netherlands. Those responsible must be held accountable.

Turkey has lost form in a very bad way. Their current team is strong enough. Yet we are not getting good results from them. Not only did they suffer a humiliating defeat against the Netherlands, but they also drew 2-2 against Montenegro. Our expectations from them were even higher. However, my hope is that in the coming matches they will be back on the winning track again.

It's a long crisis, it's not new and it's going deeper day by day. Today GM Şenol Güneş and TFF Chairman met and talked, they will do one more meeting. Majority of people expect a resignation but Şenol Güneş didn't tell anything about it yet.
I think there are two ways for Şenol Güneş, he either resign or do big changes in the team. Either way something will change before Norway game in October.

They should not go in to ballistic mode. The same team defeated Netherlands at home and secured three points just a few months ago. And they are not in a very bad state, as far as the position in Group G is concerned. Turkey is having 11 points, compared to 13 each for Norway and Netherlands. For Turkey, there is still a good chance to qualify, if they are able to defeat Norway next month. Changing the coach and manager may not work at this point and it will just further destabilize the team. Let them aim for a win on 8th October against Norway.

At the beginning for France it was a very tough game, in fact I thought they would lower the level for the second half, but they came out with another vision and really showed the football that I like in France. In the case of the Netherlands, it is another level, what the Netherlands did was offer a goals festival, I don't understand what happened to Turkey, but I don't blame them, sometimes a chain of mistakes is usually paid very dearly, in football anything is possible. In the same way, you have to wait for the other date, there may be some surprises, although everything seems already defined.

Games like that can happen. Nothing you can do even when it only rarely happens. Germany vs. Spain was similar.

The Netherlands just played so effectively and Depay scored extremely well. I must say that I liked what he did during the games for the national team. If he can keep up that level he is going to be the most important player for Barcelona as well. Who else should become a leader otherwise on that team?
