DeepWebsitesLinks.com == SmartMix.io == SCAM

Scammers behind both of these sites.

Deepwebsitelinks.com (email: [email protected]) had removed SmartMix.io (email: [email protected]) from the top spot on its list of 5 best mixers a couple of weeks ago...
however, now SmartMix.io is once again listed as the #1 mixer on deepwebsitelinks.com and the "scam complaints" warning has been removed.

Stay away from both of these SCAM websites.

Partial email thread with deepwebsiteslinks follows:

Hi,

The mixing service, SmartMix.io, you have listed as #1 on your website is a confirmed scam.

Here's a thread on bitcointalk.org discussing it.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.new#new

Another blog webmaster, upon receiving the evidence below, and the attached .pdf, pulled every promotional article about SmartMix.io from his site and issued this warning:

https://www.cryptocoinupdates.com/scam-alert-smartmix-io-is-a-confirmed-scam/

I hope after reviewing the evidence, you consider doing something similar too.

Sorry for you. It's often how the scammers work, they complete your first mix, so you can think the service is legit, then on your next mix, they will steal your coins.
Be careful too with the blog websites and their Top 5, Best XYZ, ztc

Could you please correct your list?
The fact is that one of the services, namely SmartMix.io was charged with a scam March 23, 2018.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32960872
After that, several more users confirmed that they had lost coins.
To date, the SmartMix.io did not make any reply messages, which indicates that the service most likely ceased to exist.

Progress on taking down SmartMix.io

CryptoCoinUpdates.com was the first to respond.  They removed all SmartMix promotional articles, issued a scam warning, and rebuffed the scammer when asked that the scam warning be taken down.

LeGaulois has updated his list and has removed SmartMix.io.

DeepWebsitesLinks Top 5 Bitcoin Tumblers list had SmartMix.io listed as its #1 tumbler.   It has been moved down to #7, and is now appears as "7. SmartMix.io (Got Scam Complain)."  They still have some work to do, however, as listing SmartMix.io at all places readers at risk.

I have a problem with adding ratings:

- Chipmixer is my favorite mixer
- I have my signature space promoting Chipmixer
- I often promote the service on Twitter.

I am not sure to be able to rate the services without to be biased. That's why I didn't when I created the topic. I would rather prefer to post the ANN thread and to let users read the discussion to make their due diligence. This is the best rating they can get.

OP I read your replies, despite the fact that I think we need ratings too, we have a deal here (it just came in my mind).
You have included thread links, so if user decides to use mixer, I highly think they'll follow ANN thread. This is the place where they can see date of website (date of ANN thread usually and some reviews). But what about to mention this in your first post that list is random and what I write...
Btw if you don't mind, I'll share my trusted mixers list:
1. Bitblender
2. Chipmixer
3. Cryptomixer
Do you agree with me?

Yes please, if you have an undeniable proof can you post it here for everyone to see? If it"s needed I will, of course, update the list and remove the site. Thanks

Hi Legaulois,

I've posted proof that SmartMix.io steals user's bitcoin, yet I see that you still have SmartMix.io on your list of mixers.

If something about the evidence I've posted leaves you with any doubt, would you please explain so that I can have a chance to clarify?

Thanks

SmartMix.io is a scam - Part 2

In Part 1, the following was established:

1. The user’s 1st Tx with SmartMix.io appeared to succeed; user sent 0.7001 BTC to SmartMix.io and got back 0.7 BTC (nothing being said here about whether the coins were mixed or not; just that SmartMix.io sent back the users’s BTC).
2. The user’s 2nd Tx with SmartMix.io failed.  User sent 1.8620081 BTC, and received nothing back.

User submitted several support requests via the contact form on SmartMix.io’s website, but received no response…

...that is, until a couple days later, when a blog webmaster, upon reviewing the evidence, acted with awesome integrity and pulled every SmartMix.io promotional article from his blog and issued a scam warning.

Emailing from [email protected] (email address not listed anywhere on SmartMix.io's website) the scammer wrote to the user:

Quote
“please excuse our late answer.
Your support requests from [email protected] landed in our spam folder.
The only thing that actually came through were the threats sent with the adresses [email protected] and [email protected]. (not so nice)
We will investigate the situation and check all the information you provided us.
This may take a day.”

Not that it's relevant, but the user did not submit any support requests using ANY of the email addresses listed in the scammer's email, and did not send any threats.

That was the only communication the user ever received from the scammer.

The user responded to the scammer’s email as follows:

Quote
“Your support form should not have a "spam" folder, but rather, should be attentively monitored, like a professional business would operate.
It's not "nice" to be unresponsive when dealing with large amounts of your customer's funds.

Resolution.

1) Look here:
https://blockchain.info/tx/50135c1e012202f60ac414faebeec8a1a138589fa1bbf86c7d40cad0922790d1

Notice that your address - 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj4 - received 1.86200821 BTC from my addresses, 1PoPLJYdw17p6PQeVYNHFz32Z74VtXkEfZ,
1Mvfd79nvJLbfeKZHFFrfHwCb2gEVUnrVR.

2) Review your records and notice that you have not delivered the 1.86100821 BTC (minus your 0.0001 Tx fee) owed to me.

3) Look here:
https://blockchain.info/address/1DFnmz26X4c3gBtpbgwz2HRJHkCqJfRuh1

That is the output address I specified when I initiated the mix.  Notice that it has zero balance, and zero Txs.

4) Send 1.86100821 BTC to the above address and we're good.

Your prompt attention here is important.”

While the scammer never emailed the user again, on 6/23/2018, he did email the blog webmaster:

Quote
“after carefully analyzing all transactions and mixer logs we found the following:

1. The user made a successfull mix of 0.7 BTC
2. He created another mixing session to clean more bitcoins
3. He sent 1.8 BTC somewhere, but not to us. The address in the mix page has not received any funds.

We are very sorry for the person who list her bitcoins due to sending them somewhere, but cannot do anything.
Other than that we have a lot of happy customers and the mixer always works fine.
Regarding the communication with the customer: We are not willing to help him anymore in tracking down his funds, since he sent us death threats.

We ask you kindly to put up the posts on your website again and remove the scam accusations since they are not true and damage our brand.”

Key part of the scam attempt:

Quote
“He sent 1.8 BTC somewhere, but not to us. The address in the mix page has not received any funds.”

And thus we arrive at the scammer's MONUMENTAL ERROR:
When the scammer sent the user's BTC from 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj in Tx #1,
he unequivocally identified himself as the owner of that address.
3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj is where the user sent BTC to initiate Tx #2.

Incidentally, the webmaster utterly rebuffed the scammer’s request:

Quote
“Here are direct links to the relevant Txs on the BTC blockchain:

1) Tx showing SmartMix.io ownership of address, 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj4
https://blockchain.info/tx/51a67b7d3a4593df246969004e75d70f307f043275afb0b8ea205c3397216a33

2) Tx showing SmartMix.io's address, 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj4, received BTC from user.
https://blockchain.info/tx/50135c1e012202f60ac414faebeec8a1a138589fa1bbf86c7d40cad0922790d1

3) User's specified output address shows balance of zero - i.e. user did not receive BTC (mixed or not) from SmartMix.io.
https://blockchain.info/address/1DFnmz26X4c3gBtpbgwz2HRJHkCqJfRuh1

Tx #2 (above) shows conclusively that you received 1.8620081 BTC, but you did not mix those BTC and send them to the user's specified address.

Webmaster also noted:
Quote
“And despite your excuse, this is not the first time that this has happened.”

Webmaster is correct... see links below.

I will check about smartmixer to be sure because I see the users who complained are users with 2 posts or coming back after almost 5 years of inactivity in the topic link you posted.

As for Pay shield I haven't heard lately so I don't know but I will search to see how it's going and remove it it if needed

Thanks guys
At least in their profile it is clear that they were on the network June 21, 2018, 02:57:09 PM, but did not bother to respond to users who accuse them of fraud.
At least you could indicate in your list that they do not respond to messages on the forum.
In general, silence is a sign of agreement. Those. if they do not refute the charges, then they agree.

I feel that you should include some kind of rating system to see which of these sites are the best, based on user-friendliness

and speed and also fees. There are a lot of these sites out there and some of them are very difficult to use. It is strange

that people think that Bitmixer.io was a honeypot.  Undecided

Thanks for the suggestion, yes it's a list I planned to maintain and I hadn't thought of that and I think you're right. I will add a list of scam services so. Because yeah it can help the other members to avoid using it. Will do it today or tomorrow...

What about to rank them? I mean to make it easy for customers to make a choice with some factors like how much year is the mixer active and etc...
Because as you see, bitmixcoin turned into scam, as I remember they weren't in your list but if they were between serious mixers, it would be unfair.
I think it's better to include how much year they are active in mixing since ranking them by our choice would cause a lot of issues.

The list isn't ranked by my choice, it's random. I think it's useless to add since how many time the service is online because it doesn't make it more trustworthy than a young Bitcoin mixer. And I could give a concrete example without a problem.
BitMixcoin was on the list but when @TryNinja sent me a message with details to tell me that the site had turned into a scam I removed it directly the next day

Better is to list them under scam category if you want to maintain. Your thread will be able to provide information about not only active good Bitcoin Mixers but also a list of sites which turned into scam and one should avoid using it.

SmartMix.io is a scam - Evidence, Part 1

User received an email request for evidence supporting the claim that SmartMix.io is a scam.

The user responded as follows:

Some peripheral supporting evidence can be found here:

1) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.40602386
2) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32960872
3) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.36160019

Concrete evidence is shown in attached .pdf showing screenshots of two recent Txs with SmartMix.io.
1) The first Tx did not end in the theft of the user's BTC, but is pertinent in that it shows an address owned by SmartMix.io.
2) The 2nd Tx resulted in the user's BTC being stolen.

Viewing the Tx via blockchain.info, one can clearly see that the user sent BTC to SmartMix.io's address.  One can further see that the BTC was not mixed, nor was BTC sent back to the user's specified address.

SmartMix.io has failed to respond to any communication via their website support contact form at https://smartmix.io/support or emails sent to [email protected].

Thus it can be confirmed that SmartMix.io received BTC and failed to send BTC back to the user.

Here are direct links to the relevant Txs on the BTC blockchain:

1) Tx showing SmartMix.io ownership of address, 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj4
https://blockchain.info/tx/51a67b7d3a4593df246969004e75d70f307f043275afb0b8ea205c3397216a33

2) Tx showing SmartMix.io's address, 3PVFJCMNti7kY4fxZ3nnwALX4qTS6xsoj4, received BTC from user.
https://blockchain.info/tx/50135c1e012202f60ac414faebeec8a1a138589fa1bbf86c7d40cad0922790d1

3) User's specified output address shows balance of zero - i.e. user did not receive BTC (mixed or not) from SmartMix.io.
https://blockchain.info/address/1DFnmz26X4c3gBtpbgwz2HRJHkCqJfRuh1

Of course, feel free to try to contact SmartMix.io and obtain his side of the story, if he has one.

Simple question for him to answer:  Tx #2 (above) shows conclusively that you received 1.8620081 BTC, but you did not mix those BTC and send them to the user's specified address.  User claims that you have also failed to respond to any of her communication attempts.  Why?

If you have any further questions, I'll try to answer them.  Email me.

The .pdf mentioned can be found here.   It consists of annotated screen shots that step through the two transactions discussed above.

Hi,

I am not familiar with your list or website, but I presume it aims to promote reputable mixing services.

SmartMix.io is a scam.

A few days ago, I sent one blog webmaster undeniable proof that Smartmix.io is a scam.
The webmaster was quickly convinced that SmartMix.io was in fact a scam, pulled several articles that promoted Smartmix.io from their site and immediately published
the following scam alert:

https://www.cryptocoinupdates.com/scam-alert-smartmix-io-is-a-confirmed-scam/

If you are still unsure about Smartmix.io, I will gladly email you the evidence for your review so you can clean up your list.

My goal is to thoroughly expose Smartmix.io and completely bury the service.

Thanks.

OK.  I have limited time for the next few days, so I will publish this in parts, hopefully at least one part per day:

Part 1 will provide the essential evidence that proves SmartMix.io stole BTC.
Part 2 will describe the scammer's modus operandi and how he fucked up in this instance
Part 3 will show how the scammer has responded to being exposed

Part 1 comes next.

Then just post your evidence. I've checked your article and you didn't say anything about why SmartMix is a scam.

Who is going to believe in you? If you want to bury the service, then you need to publicly expose them.

Hmmm.

I haven't written any articles, nor did I say that I did.
I haven't asked anyone to believe in me.
And I question your assertion that I need to "publicly expose them" to bury their service.

Having said that, I do appreciate that your response does convey that you are interested in the evidence I offered to provide.

I will post it.

Please read carefully, OK?
