holding bitcoin for this long time is so much harder because 2.5 years ago bitcoin price was at the current level and maybe a little bit more even and i really can't imagine holding bitcoin even when price goes down. that much from $880 (Jan 2014) down to $200 (Jan 2015) is such a hard task.

yeah when it went down to 180$ i was really sad but was still collecting bitcoins because i had confidence that it will rise again... i just want to see 1k again.

If you are able to hold for a longer time then you can make a huge profit with them so I suggest that you hold them for a bit longer.
I think that I am also going to hold for a long time to make money.

That is what I did not past three years. I bought the bitcoin when there was a price dip and then spent some.

I'm holding some but I have also sold some. I'm not sure why it's going up so much. It could be a pump and dump or just panic buying. There's no way to know yet until we see a sell off.
I think that it is pretty impressive of him to be able to hold his Bitcoin for that long of a time I do not think that I can do that.
When ever I can make a profit I most of the time sell some Bitcoin.

The day of the halving (July 9th) was exactly 2 years since I first bought a Bitcoin. Price was around $550. Continued buying my way down until $200 and it's been over a year since I last bought. I'm a long term holder and very bullish.

Glad that during current price I'm finally green  Grin

if you have some patience, hold your bitcoin and make it double or triple it's value in less than a year, i already experienced that, when i started to have bitcoin it is just more than 200 dollars, in less than a year, it's already 600+ dollars. it is rising and no one can stop that.

I hold the bitcoin since the price of $50. I did not sell any. I just use that to buy some Etherem a few months ago.

great. i came to know about bitcoin when it was 120$

That is at least 3 years. 10 times rise in 3 years is not a bad return for the investment. The price might rise further.

Nice that you have been holding on to your coins for so long I am not sure if am going to be able to do that because that is a really long time.
With Bitcoin you will have to be patient and that is the thing that many people lack.

it is a long period of time. I hope you can survive and make a profit. for me save bitcoin for 2.5 years is quite difficult behavior. I need to have extra patience to do so.

Yeah majority of users will lack patience to hold it for such a long time and they will sell their coins when they are able to make some profits from it.

No i don't do that, i most sell all my earning from bitcoin because i need money for my life but now after the price keep rising i try to save a little bit from my earning maybe 5 year again can have 1 bitcoin.

It would be better if you can use the bitcoin instead of selling it. But it depends on the usability of bitcoin in your country.

I've a few btc in a vault, but most of it is in constant moving. Trading and lending.
Let's hope for a new ATH in next month so i can sell a few and buy a bigger house  Tongue
What is ATH? Is that a hash rate or something to do with mining perhaps?
To be able to buy a house with what you accumulated. I would like to know what you are doing which sites you go to for you to have that much in bitcoin in such a short amount of time. 2.5 years is not along time when it comes to investing. Smiley

The ATH is the all time high. And it was established in 2013 when the price spiked to 1300.
Today everybody is waiting for this price to be achieved, although we are just at 50% of that.
Ah ok.. thanks for that explanation. Never would of thought of that acronym that way and thought it might be referring to something in a technical aspect. And all this time I thought the all time high was 1200 in 2013. That got me on the correct path now. Smiley

Well congrats for holding your bitcoin man.  Grin I do hope that the price will rise more so that we'll profit more. IMO it will still rise so wait for it and be happy when the rise happen.

I do not know if the price will rise next week or next months, but I am pretty sure the price will rise in years.
That's right! Because bitcoin is deflating and it will not be denied. Bitcoin's limited supply is the reason why bitcoin will surely have it's price increased in a matter of time.

That part should come right now, because miners only get 12.5 bitcoin so in a matter of a few months/year i do expect that the price increase because the supply is limited quite a lot.
But there are never any guarantees..

I think the price will rise a lot after the halving. Last halving, it rose 100 times, this time, it could rise 20 times.

Holding is the way to go. The price right now is by far not worth to sell it. Just give it a few years.
By then you will get the real value of bitcoin and selling or using then is better.

If you have enough patience and dedication to keep holding your coins for several years, then definitely go for it! But it's not as easy as it may seem. Plenty of people get very tempted to sell their coins once they see the price has gone up and they made around 20-30% profit. Solid holders can keep holding even when they doubled their money.

I agree with you idea, I will say that if a person has patient and can hold his/her money in their wallet for longer time then they should have to hold as the image of bitcoin in the world business is going more better and its price will increase much faster.

That's a better option to hold long and earn good profit. At the same another important factor is that the price might vary in the forward or backward anytime. So to keep yourself on the safe side, its better to hold for limited time period than such a long holding and make decisions of buying and selling based on the price movement.
