I cant afford the asics, hell i cant even afford a small time fpga.....wish i found bitcoin mining early on  :-(

There are ASICs below the price of GPU, but with them there is no pleasure of tweaking and overclocking

The block erupters can be overclocked, yay Cheesy

I don't think they can be overclocked... there is a bug that 'shows' the hash rate as double the value (660 MH/s) - I think in cgminer 3.2 - but the real hash rate is still 330...

[EDIT] I received 2 usb's today btw and they are hashing away on slush's pool. I can now call myself an ASIC miner Smiley - I just wish it was the 30G bfl jobby I ordered that I was shouting about...

Some linik or/for more info would be welcome.
You will need more power than USB 2.0 can provide, but we now have 3.0 with x2+ power, so ...

Actually I have 4 of the Blades.

the normal mode runs at 10Ghs and in OC it's around 12.5-13Ghs.

I cool  them with 1x240mm and 2x140mm fans.

There are several threads here on bitcointalk with spec and user feedback too.

So when nothing did change on the email setup (that sample mail is many weeks old), my theory about a possible problem had been wrong.

just added more info to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2382010 ... i thing (now) that the floods are the problem and soon all delayed mails should be sent

how did my average hashrate just lose a miner...

Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 2682 Mhash/s
it was 3082 when I left for lunch.

mine friends did the same thing 2700 down to 2100

thought the follow was odd too but I ignored it till i saw this hashrate drop. its like a miner went missing in 18408 but I had no connection issues all is well....

18415 2013-06-05 17:55:55 2:36:58 28878415 6821 0.00490168
18408 2013-06-05 11:07:08 2:39:04 28281748 6821 0.00614065

OH WEL.... aka big deal if there is an issue fix it, if not wah wah

EDIT:
and it just fixed itself....  odd... I didnt have any miners down long enough to lose 400..
Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 3070 Mhash/s

Yeah I hadnt noticed but PAYOUT Emails are major lagged....
I just go 1 from yesterday right now, 4 still not arrived...
Since I am the email server I know it isnt me.

no matter payouts are processing

ACK.

Payout made last night - 2013-06-04 23:01:07 (server time = UTC), received, but there is still no email and not even an attempt to send one, according to my server logs.
My guess is that the mail queue is full with mails to a bad address (i.e. resolving to an unreachable or partially responsive IP), which takes a long time to try sending and delays the rest.

@Slush (or anyone with similar problem) you may try to cleanup of all mails older than 24h and check with ''sendmail -v -qf" which address is the bad one (if sendmail is used of course)

EDIT: just received the email the delay is caused by:

Received: from localhost ([::1] helo=pool.kvm.bnet)
by pool.kvm.bnet with esmtp (Exim 4.80)

The next one is a day later to ****.cz at "Wed, 05 Jun 2013 20:53:06 +0200" , so it is probably a problem with routing because of the floods ?!

I know you'll laugh - but I got into this for looking for something to do and I enjoy tweaking the settings.  Finding overclock setting that push out a few more hashes and the learning curve that its provided.  Ive not spent that much on hardware, but I have spent some and people have given me old cards so that I can play - but I've probably spent more money in electricity than I should.  Still enjoying it ,but i think when I've hit my Bitcoin target I'm moving to Litecoin.     I vowed I'd stay with Bitcoin as I felt that 1 new currency would be taken seriously, but now we have a silly amount of other currencies that make cyrpto currency a sorta joke(IMO), and because Bitcoin had been getting good media attention.

Payout on 18415 & 18416 is brutal. Hopefully we can see a price rise to help us out.

Estimated reward on current block seems to be dwindling away to nothing with me - others the same?

My reward has declined over the last half a dozen blocks.  A lot of hashing being added to the pool or...?

ouch... new difficulty 15605632  Undecided

And next difficulty is at current stipulated to be about 30 mill..... http://dot-bit.org/tools/nextDifficulty.php

And it's predicted to happen in just 10 days. I got into BTC mining mid April of this year and bought new GPUs early May, hoping it wasn't too late to catch some profit. Absolutely horrific timing. With every passing day I am further assured of my stupidity. Soon, the electricity cost will outweigh the gain and I will have had enough of this shafting. At which point, gaming may resume.

Any other chumps in the same boat here?

"hoping it wasn't too late to catch some profit"
it's a joke ? Cheesy

how much have you spent on new GPUs early may ?

Not really a joke, but indeed laughable. $860 with tax and shipping. Nothing close to that is ever coming back to my pockets as a result. Was hoping to be able to satisfy a few of my friends' bitcoin appetite since sending our money to MtGox is not really an available option where I'm from. As was mentioned, it's an interesting hobby and it's been a fun ride. Besides, it's not like the GPUs are now useless. They can still be enjoyed for their designed purpose.

Go to litecoin mining if your want money back Wink wemineltc is a great pool, IRC with active members, active ADMIN
