Im confused, whats their stock rated speed / power consumption?

They are rated at 38-40gh stock / 40w of consumption. Bad BF chips however result in anywhere between 34-40gh per board. I do not know if you can OC higher than this, have not tried.

How many can be chained together in an SPI chain? You say that any standard ATX PSU can be used, so does that mean they have PCIE power connectors or you have 6pin to barrel/12v adapters?

You can chain up to 6 together is 1 chain, each controller can power up to 24 boards total.
I have both the Green 4 pin power connectors, and PCIE>barrel adapters
By controller you are referring to the raspberry pi. So to power the whole setup one would need 16 Pi units. Now, do these boards have some usb breakout connector or do they interface with the Pi only via the SPI connector. The issue is that since you have 6 per chain how do you tie together 4 chains together to be controlled by the Pi's single SPI connector?

They average out to 36-37gh overall, some do 39-40, some do 34-35.
They use just about 1w/gh at the wall
