Never gamble again. If you do, you will experience another huge loss again. And the cycle will continue.

However, losses are sometimes inevitable especially if you keep chasing your luck. And that’s okay to lose, as long as it’s bearable. But if we are losing a massive amount already, that needs a serious decision making. It’s either you gamble again and recover your previous losses, which is still has no assurance, or you decide to stop gambling  temporarily or for good and shift your interest into other side hustles that will surely give you real compensation.
That's correct, it's a vicious cycle, but losses are indeed inevitable. Who hasn't lost money in gambling? It happens to all of us, the most important is how we deal with loss. I don't recall losing an extravagant amount, mostly because I'm careful with the my bets, I don't bet more than I'm comfortable losing. Just because I can afford losing $200 doesn't mean I should go overboard and blow my money away, things easily can get out hand.

After losing a huge sum of money gambling, the person has to rethink what he is doing with his life and what he expects from it. The after loss is a dramatic moment for everyone, because it looks like the person has just screwed everything in a way there are no ways to fix it anymore. It's like a total failure and game over feeling. That is why support from family and friends is important on this situation, so they can bring the attention from the individual to another matters.

At some point, once he focus his thoughts and attention to another subjects, he will start building new plans and goals to be achieved. And this time, better that he is completely aware of the potential consequences of risking his hard earned money on gambling games.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
Accept the reality that gambling is not the solution to your financial problem. Simple and straightforward and yet many players are hoping that one day, it will give them the riches to get out of their financial burden.
We all know the reality, but I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and write about the level of impossibilities or, atleast attest falsely that making a life outta gambling doesn't happen at all -- it doesn't just happen frequently.
Bottom line is, no one knows who's gonna be lucky enough to win a huge, life changing amount; I may be into these games for a long time, sacrificing alot but not getting the due returns like I ought to, but someone comes from the corner, out of nowhere, barely with any skills or knowledge of the game and Boommmmm!!!! I mean, this ain't even some make-up stories. It happened before my eyes and I've been traumatized since then.

"beating on a dead horse for real" cause who TF reads through these bunch of garbage post? Some of which are supposed to be flagged for being veered outta topic? I just feel like some of the questions being asked in here aren't necessary in most cases... Google has an answer for about 85% of garbage questions.

Your advise on things to do to excape huge losses in gambling are right, but all necessary action is determined by the Gambler. If the gambler pays a deaf ear to all signs or body language to excape this huge loses , then it's up to him. The most simplest trick is to walk away when you notice you no longer win but loses more. With this tactics you are good to go. I love the rules you provide to avoid huge losses but the fat still remain that only few will follow the rules and many will fail due to disobedient.
Someone who disobeys or fails is usually carried away by the atmosphere of the game or because they have difficulty controlling it. Usually these people want to continue playing, want to try their luck again or catch up on the losses they experienced, in my opinion this will create new problems or financial burdens for them. It's true that what you said is a simple thing. If you experience defeat, you should stop or take a short break from gambling. This will give you time to reflect and recover from the loss. Don't be too pressured to play again, what you have planned for your gambling expenses and never exceed your initial budget.

Yes, most likely that is the main problem why they always find it difficult to stop in any situation, such as when they win they continue because of greed and overconfidence and when they lose they continue to be driven by the inability to accept the losses they experience along with being driven by curiosity in their minds regarding what results will happen when they continue.

Of course there is no better action to take after you experience defeat than to stop and rest, understand that even if you continue it does not mean victory will come, because the possibility of defeat will always be part of the game every time you gamble, so it is better for us to prioritize various actions that lead to prevention such as stopping and continuing tomorrow.

I get the sentiment but at the same time, it does create good discussions sometimes. These aren’t exactly common knowledge especially to beginners. It might come as common sense for us that has been in the gambling world and this forum for quite a while but it may not true for everyone.

Common, let's be real!
Do you honestly believe that a single newbie will come to the forum looking for advice on what to do after a huge loss and will bother with things that can be found just by typing the whole phase into google? Or that any of the advice in this already huge topic are actually of any help?
These topics are just beating on a dad horse, everyone is here to throw their two or four lines of "advice" perfectly knowing that there is no way someone else will actually read them or take that piece of advice and use it in his way of dealing with a loss!

There are people who, when they are gambling, lose control of their finances and everything gets worse when they are gambling with money they have borrowed. When these people lose everything, they start to panic and think about committing suicide and in many cases, people who are in these types of situations end up committing suicide. I say this because I have seen many cases that have happened here in my country recently. That is why my advice is: always gamble with money that you can afford to lose. Because when you gamble with money that you cannot afford to lose, people can hardly sleep well, they think about committing suicide and even if someone advises them to look for other things to have fun, they will not forget the debt that they must pay and it is unlikely that other people will give them money to pay their debts.
Almost all of us always say the same thing, which is to gamble with money that we can afford to lose and if not then it is better not to gamble, because it will damage us psychologically. Just imagine when gambling using money that we borrow, first we do not enjoy the money at all and second we have to return it on time, so this is very unwise at all.
Gambling with money that we are ready to lose, we must still control ourselves, because if not then we will spend even more, including using savings.
We can gamble as long as we know what limits we should not cross. This is not for other people, but for our own good.

In fact no one wants to lose and everyone wants to bet on gambling to win. When you lose gambling, it becomes difficult to accept that defeat because you lose money there. Anyone with money can easily afford to lose money on bets. But a poor man who gambles to double his money can never accept losing. Everyone should not know our losses despite growing up and should speak directly from the front instead of talking back. I like to gamble in secret so that no one can think of my loss.

Sometimes we learn from our mistakes and that's what happened to me, I lost and I keep remembering it and talking about it, the more I keep talking about it, that's how frustrated I get and thought I would do better next time and when I go back next time, it's kind of a revengeful play which doesn't end well.

It’s like eating the same food that you didn’t like. You will experience and feel terrible the more you eat which is same on reminiscing your losses that will inflict you different negative thoughts such as what if you didn’t gamble and worst is if it’s trigger you to gamble more to chase that lose.

There’s a saying that you forget everything after you gamble. Anything that happened in the casino stay in the casino.  Cheesy

Seriously, we should just gamble what we can afford to lose and all this thoughts of regret will not a big deal anymore.

Unfortunately, A long losing streak is what motivates most gamblers to gamble even the more, there is always that point of no return for almost all gamblers, except the gambler in question is so disciplined and or was never gambling the money/profit, else, Its kinda hard to come by a gambler who will be gambling and losing, and after having lost so much, will quit while he or she still have some balance on this bankroll.

Saying this from personal experiences and experiences of my friends too, which is why I believe this to be a general issue for most gambler, except like I said before, those who are mastered the act of discipline, putting themselves under their own command, or those who are gambling simply for fun, such one's can lose any amount, still have a balance and quit comfortably when they have had their full pleasure, but for others, they will definitely want to win back the money they've lost before leaving.

It's even stupid of a player to gambling with the amount of money that if they lose it, they can not handle the depression. I gambling with the money that even if I lose it, I will just accept my faith and move on. I don't necessarily talk much about my lose because it makes me fell like am going back to what has already passed that can never be reversed, so there's no need for me to keep talking about it with someone over and over again.
If you keep talking about your loss, you will eventually become frustrated. Other people will likely want to gamble more after losing because they believe they will regain what they lost recently. It happened to me before where I thought I was lucky and wanted to regain all of my losses, but in the end I lost them all.

It's a part of greediness because I am not addicted to gambling. I only gamble occasionally with my friends because it is too boring to gamble alone, but gambling with friends, even if you lose, brings happiness. Gambling is something I do for fun because the happiness it brings is different from playing a mobile game, which only causes frustration and addiction based on what happens to my son.
When the game ends, I always accept that I lost, but I can do it again if we seek happiness while drinking, and if we lose again, we simply stop.

Sometimes we learn from our mistakes and that's what happened to me, I lost and I keep remembering it and talking about it, the more I keep talking about it, that's how frustrated I get and thought I would do better next time and when I go back next time, it's kind of a revengeful play which doesn't end well.

Accepting the losses and forget is something that we must do and never return for playing gambling for a while. But for most people, they will not stop from playing gambling instead will keep playing gambling because they think that they can win in the next days. Well, that is okay because that will depends on their decision and they must accept whatever that may happen to them. People tend difficult to stop gambling when they already losses but they will think to keep playing gambling and recover their losses.

That can make them lose more and more money especially if they lose control over themselves. They can face another problem if they keep playing gambling because they don't know if that can makes their lives ruins.
Just simply move on and call it a day, as long you have lost all of your balance then you shouldnt be trying out to chase it up. People do mess up their lives because they would really be that tending to add up
even more on the moment that they are losing money and not really that stopping completely. When you are losing then the best thing to do is that stop immediately and call it a day.
Just like on what have been said that stopping will really be that making things avoid to getting bigger and deeper in terms of loses. Usually people do make out even more deposits on the time that their
emotions been lit up because of such anger and disappointment. This is why when playing gambling then it wouldnt really be that ideal that you should be easily get dragged with your emotions.

Gambling is a constant process, there can be no only wins, or only losses, everything alternates, so expecting a win after a loss is not bad. It is bad if you allow a loss that can cause great damage to the bankroll, in this case the loss will be great and perhaps it makes sense to think about stopping gambling, because if this was allowed once, then it is possible that it will happen again.

Yes, and it's all in the mind, obviously, each one of us reacts differently in a big lost. But I guess it's really better to just step away from gambling for a while so that you will not be affected mentality.

Make yourself busy, or just go out with friends and families so that your mind will be preoccupied with anything that is not gambling. And maybe after a week or two, if you have recovered already, then it's that time that maybe you can go back and see for yourself if you are lucky or not.

We all know how it feels to lose money in gambling. It is one of the worst feelings we encounter, which makes us stressed and can lead to feelings of self-guilt. But sometimes we overstretch ourselves and gamble beyond our means. I have seen people even take loans to gamble and get sucked into an endless loop of stress, anxiety, and isolation.
If you have just encountered a big loss which is making you sick to the stomach, do not worry. Here are five things you can do to find peace and divert your energy to some inspiring things:

1. Accept the loss: Do not try to suppress the feelings; do not lie to yourself. You have made a mistake by gambling beyond your means, now accept it. We all make mistakes in our life. Most importantly, express the feelings: Weep if you want to weep, shout in a closed room if you want to shout, just do not harm yourself or others in the process, as it will only make things worse. Expressing your emotions is the first step towards getting out of this situation, and believe me, things are only going to get better from here. If you have expressed yourself, you have already made great progress.
Suppressing emotions will cause serious trouble to your psyche, which can lead to depression and delusions. If you do not accept your loss and mistake, you will only strengthen your unconscious to again take higher risks. In case you are wondering why your mind is still thinking of arranging more money somehow (taking loans/selling stuff, stealing, etc.), it is because of an innate human tendency of loss aversion.

2. Tell someone: You have to have at least one person in your life (the more the better) to whom you can share your feelings and let them know about your situation. It will help a lot because if you continue to live in isolation with that feeling, trust me, you will not be capable of taking care of yourself. There is no shame in taking help in these matters; instead, it is a sign of great courage to honestly tell someone how you are feeling.

3. Socialize more, go out, play outdoor games, go on a hike with friends for a few days: You need an immediate shift of your focus from gambling, and going out, playing games, etc., are good options to do that. It will also shorten your screen time, which must be zero for at least 2-3 days.

4. Take professional help: There are many government as well as non-government organizations who can help you a lot if you are still panicking and nothing is working for you. Especially if, even after a few days, your sleeping and eating patterns are not normalizing. They will help you cope with anxiety and pursue some positive change in your life.

5. This last advice is a bit philosophical. Your existence in itself is a miracle, and on top of it, you as a living, conscious human being have survived against odds much higher than any lottery. Therefore, you are a winner already in life, no matter what these are—petty things (money lost in some game)—and you surely have the capacity to overcome this. Even if you do not believe in yourself right now, your existence is the undeniable proof of your potential.

All the points You laid out here are valid to me except point number two. Telling someone about a loss in gambling is not something I think is absolutely right to do, except if the person you are telling is also a fellow gambler who understands the feeling perfectly and knows what and what to do and or say to calm the nerves of the loser, as well as return hope and faith to his or her mind again.

Telling someone who does not gamble and does not understand the feeling of a huge loss in gambling is a very big mistake, because they will know better to judge rather than sympathize..

But on the other hand, my personal and general take on this is, one should not be gambling with amount they can't afford to comfortably loose in the first place, it's an unhealthy practice which every gambler ought to learn to put under their control to avoid financial and other related issues.

A break helps. If you continue in the same mindset you going to loss more
I can't really tell how that works, guess emotions starts clouding your judgement.
You made a nice list buh
1. It's not quite easy to accept a loss. It takes experience, mindset and will to do such.

2.well they say a problem shared is a problem half solved, This would help buy likely temporary

3. I usually make use of this and it helps. Pick some movies or just hang out to clear the head and let positive thoughts seek in

4. really don't know how this can help.

5. I will leave it at that.
