This is a good amount for investments and if you do not like to take risks, the most reliable option is to invest in BTC and ETH.
With 500 $ you can buy a ripple with all the money. Ripple has a low price but has a good level of stability and can increase many times in the future.

Well, I suggest you to invest in 2-3 altcoins, Neo, Pchain and Ada. All of them are different blockchains , infrastructure projects and you won't lose your money at least. Current prices are attractive and it is good entry point to buy altcoins for a long term
