Choose altcoins from the top 100 which cost less than one dollar and buy them. As soon as the market capitalization growth starts, you will definitely get a good profit.

if you want to invest money for more than one year, you can buy a little different altcoins,but you should buy Ethereum, because most likely you will be able to get more than from altcoins with its help

You can invest in 5 different coins and you can divide the funds equally. My choice would be Ethereum, Cardano, NEO, NEM and IOTA. If you want to take some risk, then you can go for the smaller coins such as Denarius and Bitsend.

You should not be asking here that, you should confirm each coin one by one by yourself. You need to be confident in your investments in able for you not doing any psychological mistake that will sabotage your own investing success. You need to be confident is such a way that you can HOLD a coin forever. IF you find that coin that i am talking about THEN that's a good investment.

I will using that $500 to invest on ravencoin. Ravencoin looks like a good and descent coin to invest. Have good communities and good developers can bring this coin to at least top 100 market cap

If i were you i split my $500 into some altcoins :
1. $250 into ETH
2. $100 into TRON
3. $100 into NEO
4. $50 into Golem

After that, i will wait because those altcoins are great choices for a long-term investment, we just need to wait and then earn much money from it.
