It is better to invest risky altcoins or icos with $500. It is very low amount of money to create portfolio in 2018. You may consider some casino coins, anoncoins and lending coins from lower tables in coinmarketcap.

That amount is good enough to buy different coins that has potential, diversify your investment in btc and altcoins. Choose the one that has uses and progressing development such as Btc, Eth and iota. I have many coins in my portfolio and I did some research before investing my money. Its advisable to make your own research and judgement, dont just rely in our suggestions. Invest in Altcoins and spread it in 4-5 coins, there are some good solid coins currently available at a good price, but make sure you invest after some good analysis, personally, I would like to go with Eth, Neo, Waves, OMG.

Actually there are lots of coins where you could invest you 500$ with. You can use that in bitcoin, ethereum, cardano, litecoin, ripple NEO and many more. But i guess the best coin is bitcoin. As usual it will never disappear just like other altcoins. And this is great for long term investments.
You are right! because most of the people feel Bitcoin is the long-term investment and we have to wait many years in order to increase its price. So it is always good and finds the good coin like NEO, ETH, INS, BNB etc because they will give you more returns in long-term compared to Bitcoin.

Your statement was confusing.You said "Investing in cryptocurrencies is risky" that was correct but in your second statement "You can invest in potential cheap COINS" that was confusing.What do you mean by cheap COINS?is that tangible? or you want to say that it is also a crypto-currencies.Can you clarify for that?

Just trade with the coins that moves quick so you can have your profit easily but if you just want to hold it for good, do it with bitcoin and other top altcoins for sure you can make money and then invest more later on while you are experienced enough to do so.

To be honest , normally $500 is not that much for an experienced trader but it’s a good amount to start for someone new to crypto world. If you are interested in long term investment you can buy bitcoin, eth , waves but if you are interested in trading daily or short term you can buy eos , neo or even tron.
With that amount of money, I should just invest in Ethereum. Why ? That is because of the up and down of the price of BTC nowadays. I think it is better for us to choose some long-term and certain investment like BTC and ETH for the moment. It is just for temporary until the price of BTC get back up again and be normal again. The price of all Altcoins is depend on the price of BTC. When the price of BTC fall, the price of all Altcoins will go down too. So it is important to choose wisely. I choose ETH because I think the fee of ETH is not quite big unlike Bitcoin right now. I hope Bitcoin can be better in the future.

500$ is not a big money we can not trade but we can still be able to invest for long term altcoins, i think you can invest in NEO or ADA, these are two of the most altcoins that are high evaluated but still dont have much chance to rise in last year, but they have been forecasted to rise more than 50% in this 2018, so we should take this chacne and buy some one them to encrease our wallet money..
with a $ 500 fund is enough to invest in some coins at a low price, for example by buying coins nxt, ignis and xlm (stellar)
You can invest with etherium because alts can be a better option now to buy or invest. I think invest with eth will be profitable now so if you do this then i think this will be better for you.
Bitcoin and all altcoins is in the coinmarketcap. You can take a look in coinmarketcap and pick what you have choosen that you think can be a next coin in the future. Base on your budget you can only avail the cheap coin. Even it is only 500$ you can make it more that x20 depends on what you have chosen. Hopefully you will be lucky.
