I agree with this statement. You can gain the profit on the secure altcoins which I consider are Ethereum and Monero but if you really want to earn a substantial profit invest in the ICO. Make a deep research and invest properly.

Try to be careful because many ICOs are scam projects and the developers are running with their bags in the middle of their campaigns. I believe that you can make the nice amount of the profit with the ICO but if you are looking something stable with the goal of a long-term profit invest in Ethereum!

Try to put money by parts - don't use "all in" strategy
Invest some in BTC (which is kind of the base of all cripto) and remaining $ distribute to the crypto that has a big volume, not really high price and you can see that this cripto always has a various ask-bid price
For example: Nexus (NXC), SaluS (SLS) and smth like that (FOR THIS MOMENT)

It's a good amount to start . I remember I start also with 500 usd then have a profit of 100 usd in one day then after a week make it 1k usd . I invest on EOS and AE tokens which are legit and impressive usage of tokens also they are on top 100 list on cmc .

I would recommend Expanse and ICX right now. Expanse just broke out of it's down trend and has massive potential as a platform that hosts ICOs and has smart contracts with a small market cap, and ICX has been on a downtrend and seems to have found it's bottom and should rebound well. Both projects have a great long term outlook imho.

Because that money is not that much, it is better to buy ethereum, all of it. Wait for some time because my speculation for ethereum is that it will go to $2k by the end of the year 2018. Ethereum platform is popular to most ICOs that is why i believe that this coin has a future and it may overtook bitcoin someday in terms of market capitalization.

Utrust is a great market I think and it can go higher this year so your $500 is worth to invest their. Though a lot of good coins, but I suggest to put it on a one great coin for you to have a huge volume of coins that can maximize the profit you can have and then diversify later on. Also its better to make your own study because a lot of good things here in cryptoworld, try to discover it.

I think the profits will not get too big if you buy bitcoin with only $500. yeah you're right that the risk will be lower if you invest in bitcoin but a bigger profit you might get on altcoin investment. maybe you can divide your funds into some investments dude. it will be much safer. eg 50% to bitcoin and 50% to potential altcoin. I suggest you buy Denarius. this coin is very potential. has a technology that allows you to get undercover transactions. active dev and a growing community

$500 is fine to start with, as the transaction fees tend to be low or based on a percentage for most exchanges, so you aren't 'losing' too much of your capital in transactions.

And for people who are saying you won't make much capital gains with $500, you should instead think about percentage gains on your investment. Yes you won't necessarily make as much in raw dollar terms, but you're also not risking as much. I'd be looking at it in terms of percentage increase on my $500 investment, instead of thinking that you've 'only' made $100 profit or whatever it is.

I'd divide $500 on 5x100, then participate in 2-3 good ICOs(hard to find good ones, but it worth it), and buy 2-3 coins that are at top-100, but not at top-10

Diversify. Consider buying altcoins with under $1-$5 value since its been on red in these past few weeks. If I do have $500, I'd probably buy atleast 1 NEO since it became very expensive since it started last year. I was amazed how NEO improved from less than $50 value to more than a hundred dollars even if there is a dip.
