A lot of coins around and you are asking just one. I know people in here have it's own favorite coin and surely it will recommend it to you different coins. It only gives you headache and having a lot of coins to research, it is much better if you may go directly into coinmarket cap and there you find potentialy profitable coins.

If you will only invest all your money for a single coin then I would advise you to choose NEO coins. because although this new coin coin is already popular today. and I believe the price will increase with increasingly popular. many say by the end of 2018 that this neo coin will do better. and I believe this will happen. so do it now.

Suggest to choose something from the top, specifically from the list 10-50, 5 if k$ choose a pair of better, you will not regret. Everything will grow this year, you'll see.

certainly bitcoin, if there is still bitcoin, and will only choose 1 coin for your investment, I think Bitcoin is the best choice to invest, nothing else.

except you want to split your investment for another altcoin. bitcoin is a priority.

I think $5000 can be divided two or three parts to make some altcoin investments. In my opinion, Ethereum, IOTA and of course bitcoin can be considered.

I think bitcoin's or ethereum's percentages should be higher than the others. Good luck!

Look at Neo , Monero , Waves , Nem , AION . All this coins are different , but every of them have a great perspectives in their niches . Spread your funds in to these coins and you definitely will make a profit in a future , that's what I think .

There are some very good choices right now since we are in a massive dip, you can get great coins at an amazing discount. Here are the coins I would go all in with for the 5k.

NEO
LTC
XRP
EOS
XEM

if you want to go long term and just sit on the coin and wait for the project to mature and possibly get 20x-100x returns...I would go with something like Copytrack, Bitdegree, Crypterium, Sirin Labs, or Arcblock.

I think NEO is the best coin you can invest. Experts have evaluated their price will be $ 1000 by the end of 2018 and I believe it. NEO has really grown up in early 2018 and they are still planning to break ground this year. Their staff is working very well and beyond expectations. So you can expect a higher price.

So many coins have potential but the OP will end up confused based on whatever he is told here. For someone who wants to invest that amount of money, then he should really be ready to make his investment worth it by taking his time to do his own research rather than feeding on what others are saying. However, for the benefit of helping out, NEM, TRX, BCN and COSS should be a starting point, but please do your own research still.
