Industry Updates

Viper ASIC Update(Litecoin)

Neptunes are still very much in the preliminary design phase. As much as the timeline will be reduced significantly in comparison to a standard engineering project at 20nm, if such exists, because this is absolute bleeding edge we want to be absolutely sure what we commit to silicon will ensure a successful product at the end. This initial phase will not be rushed.

That said we have completely re-written and optimised the RTL code. The Jupiter project was very much focused upon safe speed to market and the window of opportunity hashing power presented in this present finite period prior to significant competition. The Neptune project whilst adhering to aspects of the aforementioned must focus upon power consumption as it's primary trait if customers (you guys) will be able to compete successfully over a longer period. We know that we are reaching limits on standard household circuits, we want you to remain competitive w.r.t. the unfolding mining landscape and we are all to well aware that electricity costs will come into focus in the not too distant future.

So where we are now is that we have a working FPGA code and are in the process of testing that and tweaking any further refinements before it's submission.

With respect to the speculation above we sold out of Neptune's last night.

Viper ASIC Timeline Released
Quote
On Monday (13/01/2014) we released an outline of our set roadmap, today as promised we will be releasing a timeline with dates on each aspect of the development process. This shows our commitment to transparency and gives a better idea on what exact stage we are on at all times. As we go through multiple developmental stages in parallel, we will be releasing regular detailed updates on our progress. Our next updates will be consistent developmental updates on what is being worked on and what has been achieved.

Timeline:

Project Start: 16/08/13
Project Finish: 15/07/14

Yeah, I just saw that a couple minutes ago too. However, I am still doubtful on whether they will deliver the ASICs in time and if the specs posted are accurate.

The people running Alpha itself do not seem that competent to me. You would imagine them to be in better shape when processing over a million dollars worth of orders.

Though, with the Dexcel news, Alpha looks much more credible now than a couple weeks ago. I would still be wary of the company and keep a close watch on them. Their refund policy does not benefit us at all. By the time Q2 comes around, you will only be refunded 50% if something happens to go wrong with delivery and you decide to pull out.

On a more positive topic, now that RSM seems to be getting into Litecoin mining, will dividends for that be released as BTC or LTC?

We're currently planning on putting 85% of turnover after costs into more LTC ASIC's or similar.  With 5% being used on staff salaries and 10% being given to RSM turnover as BTC.

Dude I started RSM to fund-raise for a two GPU's and the market cap went over £100K last summer.  We all start somewhere with bitpay allowing them on their network and an established ASIC manufacture doing all the hardware it looks good  Smiley I hope  Grin  Who dares wins, without risk there's no reward and remember we're in the game of buying magic money making machines  Wink

I assumed you ordered the Alpha Technology ASICs. I personally am wary of them being a scam or not delivering until well past the original pre-order delivery date. I am looking more at Jasinlee's Fibonacci ASICs, which also have an earlier release. Though a problem some people have with the Fibonacci ones is that it will only be hosted mining until other Scrypt ASICs arrive (as in fully deliver).

http://dexceldesigns.com/news_events.html < That is what has given me confidence to put the deposits down.  That company with a track record of bringing ASIC's from conception to market is handling all the design and manufacture.  While Alpha is just providing all the crypto-coin community support.  Another thing is we paid with bitpay and they're very fussy over who uses their payment network.  Which makes me believe it's not a fraud.  While with an established ASIC manufacturer handling all the design and manufacture leads me to believe they won't fail through incompetence like BFL and HF.

RSM has just put the deposit down for 100(MH/s)@2.4kW of LTC ASIC's for delivery in Q2/Q3.  The move was made abruptly without public discussion because of the oversite that this batch of pre-orders was ending today.  We like the pre-order company because of the deposit only and the fact they announced publicly their engineering partners.  Just like KNC did but unlike BFL who didn't plus failed.  The decision was quickly made by the board who own a majority of shares.  We believe its a good move as it'll be the first LTC ASIC to hit the market and only a 30% deposit was required.  85% of turnover after running costs will be reinvested into more LTC ASIC's, 5% will be used for staff salaries and 10% will be paid to RSM turnover.  A full announcement will be made soon.

could we maybe stop hashing at ghash.io for time being? There's some concern about their hashrate reaching 51%. Are  jupiters able to hash at p2pool?

The chief mining operator has been contacted about moving two Jupiter's to - http://mmpool.bitparking.com/pool - As this is a very small pool but not too small and it'll help us to mine even more alt-coins.  Which is basically money for nothing.  We already have a Jupiter on OGnasty's P2Pool node.  The only thing stopping us moving all three of the Jupiter's to there.  Is that with it being 0% fee we don't get any alt-coins from merge-mining.

One miner has already been moved to Bitparking pool and a second will be moved over soon.  Leaving us with one on OGnasty's 0% fee P2Pool node.

great, thanks!

AFAIK everyone of the micro-shareholders who were the only ones being paid has been paid.  They were just being paid to the micro-shareholders who didn't own enough shares to qualify for the manual dividend which was paid the month before moving to 796.com.

I'm one of those micro-shareholders, I had 68 shares at that time , and the dividends were 6043 Satoshi's per share . So it would add up 0.00410924. I haven't seen that payment made in my 796 account or in my public wallet

I've PM'd you about the matter.

Many thanks for your fast responses, everything got sorted out. I'm a big supporter for this security. Keep up the good work guys!

In coordination with 796.com RSM has been able to pay it's Rollover Divs from the period in between BTCT.CO 's shutdown and 796.com listing us.

Dividends should be paid out over the next couple of days.

What happened to this? it's been more than a month

RSM December 2013 Financials

The December Financials statement has been released. You can download it here. Here's the executive summary of the statement for those who may be too buys to read the entire document.

Quote
Executive Summary

RSM had another solid month of operations in December. Month to month our revenue fell by 0.31347679 BTC which was a decrease of approximately 1.1%. We don’t expect to bring Jupiter Miner up and running every month so expect our revenue to fall monthly until Q1/Q2 2014 when the KnC Neptune Miners ship.
